• Recall 60458 [USA]: A jammed open throttle could cause unintended acceleration of the vehicle, possibly resulting in a crash or increased stoping distances when braking.
  Certain replacement k&n fuel performance kits, p/nos. 57-1509, 57-1511, 57-1511-1, 57-1517, 57-1517-1, 57-1527, and 57-1530. Also, a small percentage of these kits were sold under the mopar performance parts brand name (p/nos. P5007069 and P5007070). All kits were manufactured from april 20, 1999, through september 23, 2004. These assemblies were manufactured as replacement equipment for certain dodge pickup trucks and suvs. A small piece of material from the tube wall could be sucked into the engine throttle body, which could cause the throttle to become jammed in the open position.

If this condition occurs and the clutch is depressed, the line could rupture.

• Recall 9200 [USA]: Deployment of the air bag without warning could cause a driver to lose vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash and personal injury.
  Vehicle description: van and wagon model passenger vehicles. If water/road salt gets on the interior floor of the vehicle in the proximity of the air bag electronic control module (aecm), the aecm can corrode. The resulting corrosion can cause the driver side air bag to deploy inadvertently.

  On certain pickup trucks located in ontario, quebec and the maritime provinces, corrosion of the hood secondary latch return spring may cause the hood secondary latch to become inoperative, possibly allowing the hood to open unexpectedly if the primary hood latch mechanism is not engaged. Such an occurrence could block driver vision and result in possible loss of control and a crash. Correction: a new secondary hood latch that incorporates a stainless steel spring will be installed on affected vehicles.

  On certain ram 3500 vehicles, the headlamp switches used in this truck series operate under a high current load which results in switch internal temperatures above the 100 degree centigrade limit for the internal lubing grease. This heat will cause the grease to break down and increase the resistance in the switch resulting in eventual switch failure. Correction: headlamp switches will be replaced and a relay will be included in the park lamp wiring circuit causing the headlamps or park lamps to go out.

  On certain 4 x 4 pickups equipped with an 8.0 litre v10 engine, under certain heavy duty applications, such as driving up a steep grade in four wheel drive with a full load, the local exhaust temperature proximate to the hydraulic clutch line may generate line temperatures that exceed the temperature limit of the clutch line material. If this operating condition occurs and the clutch is depressed, the line may rupture and fluid may ignite on the hot exhaust potentially causing a vehicle fire.   Onmarch 20, 1995, daimlerchrysler filed a defect report for 181,008 1994 and 1995 dodge ram trucks manufacturedc from january 21, 1994 - october 25, 1994 at the dodge city assembly plant and from march 26, 1994 - december 8, 1994 at the lago alberto assembly plant.The secondary hood latch rod could bind on the guide bracket and prevent engagement of the secondary latch.If this occurs when the primary latch is not engaged, the hood could fly up when the vehicle is being driven and obstruct the driers vision increasing the potential for a crash.The recall remedy was to replace the sedcondary hood latch.Owners were notified in august of 1995.This recall rate as of 2/97 was 68%

While driving truck down road air bag exploded for no apparent reason , no large bumps or impacts to vehicle..Cab filled with dust and smoke luckily was able to stop although my hearing is greatly impaired now..

Frame rusting through and cracked near starring gear box and stabilizer bar bushing mounts.

The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was found that the headlight switch had failed. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 225,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 1997 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph and depressing the accelerator pedal, the pedal remained depressed even after contact removed their foot. The contact had to open the hood and physically engage the throttle cable in order for the pedal to return to normal position. The contact noticed that the throttle cable was frayed. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for a diagnostic test. The failure was reported to the manufacturer. The vin was not available. The failure and current mileage was 142,000.

Headlights stopped working while driving at night. Headlight switch is not safe to handle load of electricity from the headlight and marker light wires. I have replaced switch 4 times and still same problem. Lights stop working because the switch melts and begins to burn. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the contact was informed that the failure was caused by normal wear and tear. The dealer stated that the contact should have paid more attention to the straps because they are designed to eventually wear out. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 109,000.
