• Recall 84399 [USA]: If there is a separation of the ball stud from the housing, the driver can loose steering control, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash.
  Federal-mogul is recalling certain replacement control arm assemblies, part numbers k7425, 10945, fa4510x, k7427, 10946, and fa4611x, sold for use on various passenger vehicles listed above. The ball joint on the control arm assembly can fail causing the ball stud to wear through the control arm housing resulting in noise and/or separation of the ball stud from the housing.

• Recall 68303 [USA]: Separation of the ball stud from the socket of the ball joint housing would allow the control arm to collapse and the wheel to fold in causing loss of steering control, possibly resulting in a crash.
  Qualis automotive is recalling certain aftermarket ball joints sold for use on certain passenger vehicles. The socket may have been excessively hardened which could cause it to crack near the retaining ring groove allowing the ball stud to separate under impact load. The subject ball joints were sold as four part numbers, d10945, d10946, g10945, and g10946. The affected control arms, d10945 and d10946, are stamped with the following dates on the ball joints: 134308, 135708, 100109, 102709, 104109, 105509, 107609, 108909, 110309, 113209, and 116609. The g10945 and g10946 are the same part as the d10945 and d10946 respectively. They are labeled differently depending on the aftermarket customer.

• Recall 46602 [USA]: Fuel restriction could result in loss of power and/or engine stall, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash.
  Certain airtex fuel pump modules, p/nos. E7089m, e7094m, e7113m, and e7129m, manufactured between june 1 and september 24, 2006. These fuel pump modules were sold as aftermarket for use in certain daimlerchrysler vehicles listed above. Silicone material used in manufacture of the flapper valve was out-of-specification, leading to excess swell of the flapper valve restricting the flow of fuel to the fuel pump module.

• Recall 41988 [USA]: Either circumstance may result in the vehicle rolling away without warning.
  On certain passenger vehicles, the floor shifter ignition-park interlock may fail and allow the shifter to be moved out of the park position with the key removed. An inoperative interlock may also allow the key to be removed when the shifter has not been placed in the park position.

• Recall 14245 [USA]: If this happens, the "ignition-park" interlock system will be nonfunctional.
  Vehicle description: passenger vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions. The adjustment of the cable connecting the console shifter mechanism to the ignition key can cause a trapped key condition which can result in a low force required to depress the shift button. A combination of applying a mis-adjusted release button with a low force attempt to shift out of park with the key in the locked position, can break the connecting pin in the shifter.
  dealers will inspect for proper operation of the system. Any vehicles that are not functional after the inspection will have the shift mechanism and cable replaced with a "self-adjusting" design.

  On certain vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission and a floor-mounted shifter, the ignition-park interlock may become defeated and allow the shifter to be moved out of the park position with the key removed. An inoperative interlock may also allow the key to be removed when the shifter has not been placed in the park position. This may result in the vehicle rolling away without warning. Correction: dealer will inspect the function of the ignition-park interlock system. Vehicles found with functional interlock systems will have a load-limiting push rod installed into the floor shifter lever. Vehicles with a non-functional ignition-park interlock system will have the shifter assembly replaced.

  These vehicles may not comply with c.M.V.S.S. 210 - seat belt assembly anchorages. The rear seat belt anchor may not achieve the loading required by the standard during testing. Correction: the rear outboard seat belt anchor floor attachments will be inspected for orientation and repositioned if required.

• Recall 1998165 [Canada]: Other
  Note: vehicles equipped with a floor mounted automatic transmission shift lever. A combination of applying a mis-adjusted shifter release button with a low force attempt to shift out of park with the key in the locked position may break the connecting pin in the shifter. If this happens, the "ignition-park" interlock system will not function. Correction: the console shift interlock mechanism will be inspected for proper function. If the cover seal leaks or the boot is damaged, the lower control arm will be replaced.

  An engine cylinder head oil galley plug may not be adequately retained. Inadequate retention of the plug may result in oil leakage which could potentially cause a fire in the engine compartment. Correction: an expansion plug and retaining bracket will be installed over the suspect cylinder head oil galley plug.

  Corrosion of the abs hydraulic control unit may cause the solenoid valves to stick in the open position. • Auto trans ignition-park interlock investigation as of 20030717

  The manufacturer reports above are based on daimlerchrysler¿s (dc) analysis of model year (my) 1998 (population = 356,384) and 1999 (population = 486,948) ja, jx and lh family subject vehicle data (earlier mys excluded).The population number includes all mys.The precise number of duplicates between odi and dc reports cannot be determined due to missing or incomplete information.The fatality incident involved an elderly person who attempted to stop a roll away vehicle and received fatal injuries.Odi also gathered information on my 1997-99 prowler vehicles in this investigation. The prowler vehicles were manufactured with a different design shifter mechanism (the shift lever is shorter).There are no complaints of prowler interlock failure in odi¿s database, and dc has received no reports either.The prowler is excluded from the recall scope.The investigation involved a condition where the interlock system could fail (or be made inoperative by the operator) during vehicle use, possibly inadvertently.The interlock system is required under fmvss 114.With the transmission in the park position and the ignition key off, the combined action of pressing the shift button and pulling the shift lever rearward may result in the operator overcoming the interlock system and cause the mechanical linkage of the system to disconnect.When this occurs, there is no overt indication to an operator that the system is defeated, and an increased risk of vehicle roll-away exists.Under recall 04v021, dc will replace damaged shift mechanisms, and will install on all vehicles a device which inhibits the operator¿s ability to overcome the interlock and defeat the system.Beginning with my 2000, dc incorporated a brake and transmission shifter interlock (btsi) system into the subject vehicles.Introduction of btsi involved design changes to the shift mechanism, one of which resulted in reduced mechanical advantage (rma) of the shift button.The rma shifter requires increased forces to overcome the interlock system, making the shifter less susceptible to damage.

• Steering column separation investigation as of 20030507

  Mr. Larry a. Sackey submitted a petition to the national highway traffic safety administration (nhtsa) by letter dated april 18, 2003, requesting that nhtsafurther investigate the "defective collapsible steering shaft system" on 1987-1995 vehicles manufactured by the daimlerchrysler corporation.In part because of 49 cfr § 30120(g), nhtsa has decided to limit the scope of the petition vehicles to 1993-1995 models, excluding the 1993 jeep grand cherokee and 1994-1995 dodge ram series trucks that were recalled (93v210 & 96v230) for steering column failure.If the analysis of these vehicles had identified a potential problem, the scope could have been expanded in an investigation.A review of odis data base shows no recent complaints and a lack of a complaint trend concerning the subject issue on the subject vehicles as a whole or by individual models.Therefore, the petition is denied.For details, see federal register notice volume 68, no. 130, july 8, 2003.

• Safety belt cinching latch plate investigation as of 20021106

  There are no injuries or fatalities associated with this alleged defect.While conducting this investigation, odi found that the subject cinches meet the load bearing requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard 208, and that many of the reported failures were due to incorrect child safety seat installations. Additionally, the report rate is low (1.60/100k).The information available fails to establish the existence of a defect trend at this time.Further allocation of agency resources to this issue is unwarranted and the preliminary evaluation is being closed.

• Lower control arm ball joint failure investigation as of 19970929

  By letter dated november 6, 1997, the manufacturer advised this agency of its decision to initiate a safety recall campaign of the subject vehicles to correct the defect identified in this ea.The recall will also cover 1996 and 1997 chrysler cirrus/dodge stratus vehicles, as well as 1995 through 1997 chrysler sebring convertible and plymouth breeze vehicles equipped with identical lower control arm ball joints.An estimated total of 599,00vehicles are affected by this recall.The manufacturers investigation disclosed that process variability, together with the ball joint housing cover crimping operation, can result in an ineffective seal that permits a loss of lubrication and accelerted wear of the ball joint assembly.This condition can lead to failure and separtion of the lower control arm ball joint.The recall is identified as nhtsa 97v-201 and a copy of chryslers letter to nhtsa is attached hereto.

I have 1995 dodge stratus shifting down going down the road!!!! After rebuild on the tranny not once but twice change all the switches i figured it out. *tr

While driving at approximately 30 mph, my car started to overheat. When i pulled over, the coolant was pouring out of the engine. I had the car towed to a garage and was told that it failed the "block test" meaning that it needed a new head gasket. I took the car to a second garage and was told the same thing. This is a known failure that has been happening since the car was produced. The manufacture needs to cover the parts and labor of this repair. I was told by my local dealer, dayton andrews dodge, that this particular car is not covered under the earlier recall. *tr

Dodge has recalled 1999-2000 stratus because power steering fluid is leaking on back of engine in 2.4 liter cars. Fire hazard. We have a 1995 same motor same problem since the car hasn't been recalled its not dodge's problem. *jb

Tl*the contact owns a 1995 dodge stratus. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle shifted into first gear without warning, which caused the vehicle speed to decrease. There were several repairs performed on the vehicle to correct the failure; however, the failure continued to occur. The transmission was rebuilt and the solenoid was replaced on two occasions. The sensors and relays were replaced on numerous occasions; however, the failure continued to occur. The failure mileage was 63,000 miles and current mileage was 68,000.

I had the rear brakes for the 1995 dodge stratus replaced on 3/01/2007 becouse brakes were worn out, and have since then had them replace 3 different times. Mechanic shop could not figure out why. They replaced everything and back brakes were still locking. I bought this car used to do my mail route on 8/03/2006 from a used car dealer, and did not know of any recalls. Also, the car swerved when hitting the brakes. Replaced brake lines, brake shoes, cylenders, drums and springs. *ak

Purchased vehicle with clean carfax record in feb 06 with 75k miles. At 81k miles transmission started going into limp mode(slams into second gear regardless of vehicle speed). Took car to dealership for diagnostic. They stated the input and output speed sensors were failing according to the computer. I replaced them. A week later the transmission fully failed. Towed to a reputable transmission chain store. They fully rebuilt the mechanicals of transmission and replaced the speed sensors again. As i drove home the transmission returned to limp mode. Returned to shop. They test drove it and second gear clutches burned up. They rebuilt it again and also replaced valve body and solenoid pack. I drove the car for a month before it again started limping. Took the car to another dealership for diagnosis. They blamed the shop and stated they couldn't do anything for me but upgrade the flash in the transmission computer. The computer diagnostics could not reveal why the computer was putting the car in limp. Returned car to previous transmission shop for yet another rebuild. Drove car 2 months before it again started limping. Returned car to trans shop, they rebuilt it again. Still couldn't find concrete cause, replaced valve body again, had me buy replacement transmission computer from dodge, this fixed it for another 2 months. Yesterday it again started going into limp. There is 200 miles remaining in the 12,000 mile rebuild warranty from the first rebuild so it will be in the shop for the 5th time in less than a year. *nm

While driving the transmission downshifts to limp mode causing a highly probable danger situation that may lead to serious injuries especially if traveling on the freeway. We have replaced the tcm at $166.00from a dealer and another dealer sucked approx.300.00 knowing that there is no way of fixing the defective transmission. Why are you still allowing the dealers to replace parts that they fully know won't fix the main problem? Why is there no recall on the defective transmissions? On the complaint side of your web page there are a lot of similar complaints! The dealer wants us to take the car back to them for diagnostics and i am sure they will recommend another problem solving idea to make us spend more money knowing it will not work. *tr

Fuel line quick coupler failed causing great amount of gas leakage and possible fire hazard. *nm

Dt*: the contact stated while the vehicle was parked in a parking lot, flames erupted from under the hood without warning. The fire department was alerted and extinguished the fire. No injuries were sustained. There was moderate fire damage to the under hood area. The police were not alerted. The vehicle was inspected by the dealership who determined the fire originated from the power steering hose. There was a nhtsa recall, # 06v001000, regarding the steering:hydraulic power assist:hose, piping, and connections. The vehicle was not included in the recall due to the vin. The manufacturer was alerted.

Dt: while the consumer was driving heard a knocking noise. She took vehicle to a mechanic, they told her that the lower ball joint was broken. No repairs were done made as of yet. The vehicle is not safe to drive.

I have a 1995 dodge stratus when traveling about 45 mph my car automatically slips into neutral the vehicle jerks and slows down in speed i have to pull over to the side of the road and shut the car down and restart it, this problem happens intermittently, i took it a transmission shop and they could not find the problem they replaced the solenoid pack i still have the problem. *jb

1995 dodge stratus caught on fire. *ts the consumer was driving, when all of a sudden the vehicle lost power. The consumer pulled onto the shoulder, exited the vehicle and saw smoke. A few minutes later the vehicle was engulfed in flames. *jb

Took my car to get the power steering fixed after it stopped working. The repair shop called me and told me the car's engine had caught on fire and that they were not liable. I retrieved the vehicle and have since had to repair all of the electronics, hoses, hood, and paint in the engine compartment area. *jb

Dt: since the consumer purchased the vehicle it would shift into low gear or neutral on its own while driving. The vehicle was taken to two separate dealers for repairs. The dealer performed a diagnostic test and that ultimately led to the replacement of a solenoid pack. This did not correct the problem. The dealer noted that transmission computer had to be flashed. Consumer took vehicle to a dodge dealer and no repairs were done. They did not offer an explanation as to why this happened. The gear still moved while in drive. This is still a problem. *ak *jb

I purchased the car and the car would start to bounce down to first gear and now will not come out of first gear.I have tried to have it worked on but the transmition shop could not fix the problem either!!!*ak

I am filing this complaint with respect to a 1995 dodge stratus. The dodge stratus is equipped with a device which i assume is tied in with the car's electronics or computer. The purpose of this specific device is to monitor the operation of the car's transmission so that whenever the transmission is under stress or is not operating as designed or intended (or at least the the computer surmises that the transmission is not operating normally or up to standard), the computer whenever that occurs automatically downshifts the dodge stratus to 2nd gear without any prior warning or notice whatsoever to the driver and the dodge remains in 2nd gear until such time as the dodge is brought to a complete stop and until the engine is completely turned off. If you then allow the dodge engine to remain off for 3 or 4 minutes and then turn the engine back on again, the car will perform normally again and without incident at speeds up to 40 or 50 or 60 miles per hour until such time as the computer, once again, succumbs to the urge to downshift to 2nd gear. At that point, the driver finds himself in 2nd gear and with no viable alternative but to pull off the road and turn off the engine once again. To comprehend what that predicament is like from the driver?S point of view, one has only to envision yourself on the new jersey turnpike or the long island expressway in rush hour traffic with dozens and dozens of 18 wheeler trucks all going 55and 65 miles an hour when, out of the blue, the computer on the dodge stratus decides to downshift to 20 miles an hour and the nearest 18 wheeler truck is only 10 feet behind you and doing 60 miles an hour. In that scenario, the possibilities for a horrible and catastrophic accident costing dozens of lives is apparent---all because the onboard computer on the dodge stratus decided on its own to downshift to 2nd gear. *ak

Transmission failed, 145,000 miles with no indication or check engine light. The transmission was running fine then failed and leaked a quart and a half of fluid from the rip in the pan. *ak

Plastic fuel filler neck that attaches to the metal flange that attaches to body of car that has the gas cap on. The metal part that attaches to plastic neck is rusted out and venting gas vapor all the time. Called the dealer to buy a replacement part and was told that this part is pacific to only 95 and 96 model years and part is out of production. Dealer also said there is none in stock no where, and was unable to give me any solution to fix the problem this is both a safety and environmental hazard. *jb

After parking the vehicle, went into the house, and a friend came to notify consumer that the vehicle was on fire. Consumer stated that the permanent registration on the vehicle had not been received. *ak

Consumer received a recall letter. Called a dealer, and was told to bring the vehicle in. After waiting she was told there were no parts. Consumer made another appointment, after arriving and waiting for two hours the part was not in, and she was told it would be one month. The recall was on shift interlock.*ak

Car has had transmission rebuilt three times. First time it was rebuilt by dealer at approximately 85000 miles because of "rough" shifting. Second time at 150000 miles at transmission re-builder because of it consistently going in to "limp" mode. After several return visits, they still could not fix the problem. I drove the car for 10000 miles being careful of conditions that i was in case it slipped in to "limp" mode. I eventually took it to a different shop to have it rechecked. After having all mechanical parts replaced, all sensors, and tcm module the car still goes in to "limp" mode almost on a daily basis. *jb

While driving at any speed transmission would not go past first gear. Vehicle was taken to the dealer, who rebuilt the engine. Currently, transmission was doing the exact same thing again. *ak

Car will kick out of gear while driving down the road or won't go past first gear when starting it. I've replaced about everything except the transmission and the engine.

While traveling on the highway vehicle is leaking oil and smoking. *ak

Request for refund for all repairs made to transmission that was in the recall .*mr the consumer's transmission failed prior to recall notification. The consumer request reimbursement for the cost of the repair. The radiator was replaced. The engine mount assembly was replaced. The ignition was replaced. *nm

The seat belt buckle came apart on the driver side rear seat belt. The consumer stated that it was a defective cinch plate. *nlm

The vehicle was parked, when the engine caught on fire. *jb prior to fire, vehicle was running rough and used a lot gas. Dirty fuel rail was replaced and 4 injectors that were plugged. Consumer is aware of recall 96v00600 relating to this condition. *tt

My wife complained of brake pedal travel further than normal. Upon investigation, i discovered that one of the bolt studs that holds the master cylinder to the power brake booster was broken off and missing. The master cylinder was pushed out of the booster to about a 30 degeree angle. The remaining stud was still in place but bent badly to one side. If there had been a panic stop required, i feel that the master cylinder could have separated from the booster, with the effect of having no braking effectiveness. This could have resulted in a serious accident or fatality.*jb

The car leaks oil badly, i see its had been a oil recall under/ the engine cylinder head oil gallery plug/ it smokes the hood, leaks water out of tail pipe: 1995 dodge stratus recall#96v00600/ the dealer keeps telling me there isn't any recalls on my vehicle. If this problem persist its going to start a fire,,,,,,,,,,,its a safety hazard in my eye and many other auto repair shops,,,,

This car has had 2 replaced computers and 2 oxygen sensorsthat i know of, also i have been to several shops including the doge dealer ships to see why the check ingine light is on and according to their machines there is nothing wrong with the car. But their is something wrong with this car, after driving if on a hot day once you turn off the car and let it set , when you go to start it agian it will not start it acts like it has no gas, it starts popping and dieing out, it almost seems like it is vapor locking. I was driving my car in town at approx. 30 mph when i started losing power and saw white smoke coming out of my exhaust. I knew from an experience my father had with his car, that it was the head gasket. I immediately pulled the car over and had it towed to my local dodge dealer. Keep in mind that at this point the car was running with no other problems other than the loss of power and the smoke.Upon hearing from the dealer, i was shocked when he told me the engine was blown and that they would have to replace the motor. I couldnt possibly afford the $3000 or $4000 estimate they gave me, so i told them to leave it alone and would have it towed out of their lot. When i met the independent mechanic with the tow truck on their lot, i noticed that my car had been driven on the other side of their lot.When i told the independent mechanic about what it was doing when i gave control of my car to the dealer, he told me that there is no way the motor was blown. They were just trying to get some money out of me. He then told me to start the car and let him see what it was doing. When it started it was making a lot of noise. Noise it was not making when i shut the motor off. We could only come to the conclusion after seeing were the car was parked that the dealer mechanics had driven it against my instructions and caused the motor to blow. So instead of what would have been a replaced head gasket, turned into a motor replacement. The front end started to squeak going over bumps as the suspension moved. The car was taken into a private mechanic who told me the right ball joint/lower control arm was failing and there was a recall for this problem, recall #750. I was referred to daimerchrysler's toll free number. I called them on 02-17-2000 and 02-18-2000. Both times their representitive told me my car didn't fall under the recall because the vin number didn't match the numbers in the recall. I told them normal wear and tear doesn't cause ball joint problems until well into the 100,000 mile range. I also told them of the cars low mileage and they still refused to repair. Daimerchrysler's file number is 6833820. This problem is a safety hazard, the year, make, model of my car falls under the recall and chrysler refuses to fix this problem. *ak

Of 99 i took it to a transmission place and they said their computer told them that the car had burned a shift clutch in the transmission and it would cost 1200 because they had to tear into the transmission. The tachometer also stays at zero most of the time, but every once in a while it will work. *ak

I had my oil changed, and the service people said that my head gasket was bad. I contacted parkway dodge and had them replace the head gasket. They broke an egr valve doing the replacement. Now my dodge has a vibration in it, and is worse when the car is in drive. The dealership has told me that they and chrysler corp. Engineering can find nothing wrong with the car. Upon exiting a major intersteate, had to apply brakes in order to slow down on ramp. The brake pedal was rock hard and could not be pushed down. In october of 99' our car stopped running when brakes applied on i75 during a construction zone. It then stopped running 5 more times that day (10/02/99). We took the vehicle in to find the problem. But we informed that nothing showed on the diginostics. This has been a repeated problem for 4 months. 2 of those months our car sat at freedom dodge of lexington with people telling us the could not get it to duplicate. I have paid for parts that need not be replaced, because i would get the car back and once again i would get about 2 miles from where i picked it up, and it would stop running on me. Dodge states the engine failed due to the serpentine belt tentioner loosening which caused the timing belt to skip off track . Tentioner not covered in warrenty so none of the damage is covered. Dodge said they'd put a used engine in the car costing the owner $3000.00.

As a result of above component failure, engine was destroyed by heat. The temperature gauge was on cold and the "engine check light" came on about 20 seconds before the car stopped. The front, right brake locks up under hard braking, causing vehicle to pull hard to the right. I avoided hitting other cars only because there were no other cars in the right lane of traffic. This problem was reported to the dealer and to chrysler at 1-800-853-1403 on may 17, 1999. A mr. Dante amabile with chrysler customer relations reviewed this problem (reference # 5797365), but reported there was no problem with this car and that there was no recall on abs brakes for 1995 dodge stratus models. I referenced nhtsa campaign id number 96v074000, but was told by mr. Amabile that there was no such recall. This is a dangerous car that needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

Had oil changed and was told the head gasket was leaking. Car was checked several times since new for a odor in car. All that was done at the dealer ,is they sprayed deodorizer for the smell. I was on the highway going home when all of a sudden my car gave a loud bang and smoke started coming out of the hood. The car had stalled and i got to the side of the road. Flames where shooting out of the engine compartment. I was told by the mechanic who finally looked at the car that one of the cylinders had gone through the side wall and caused the fire. I have since learned that there was a recall on the engine. To be more precise the galley plug, i would like to find out if anyone had serviced my car on the recall. If they haden't then maybe that is what cause the problem, i really would like to know.

When shifting gears there is a noise like some metal scraping metal and the entire engine moves in an unusual manner.

Fuse burned out. Fuel starter burned out (short circuit) when the engine started i replaced the fuse in multiple occasions. This is not a normal situation because at any time this failure occurs. *ak

Vehicle has a problem with the brain modulator that runs the computer. It is causing the gas not to flow from the tank to the fuel injector. Consumer says to get the vehicle started, consumer has to press the gas all the way to the floor, and hold the key however long it takes to catch. Dealer has been contacted. *ak

Power steering pump failed causing noise to emit from steering column.

Vehicle initially would not move upon acceleration, then without warning, engine would suddenly accelerate.

During rear impact at 45 mph, the driver's side seat came off of the seat track, causing driver to sustain injuries. *ak

While driving car was making a humming noise for about 3 miles when the brake was applied a knocking noise came from brakes driving at or about 5 mph. Manufacturer contacted, informed the owner that a recall was on the brake shoes and the problem was fixed. After the brakes were fixed, the problem reoccurred 5 times, causing premature wear on the brakes. *ak

Power steering hose replaced.

After switching on the high-beams, they operate for a few seconds and then the headlights go off completely.

After coming to a stop and accelerating the vehicle stalls. The vehicle does not pick up speed when accelerating to pass a vehicle. The igniton wires have been changed twice. Once by pep boys and once by the dealership. Consumer is still experincing stalling prolbem. *ak

Airbag panel broke loose, can see the airbag components, can easly deploy without warning. *ak

Gearshift can be moved from drive to third gear without using the "safety " button/also can be shifted with keys out of ignition switch.

While driving, lower ball joint broke, dropped down, damaged wheel/lower control arm and ball joint, caused fire in left front brake caliper; according to dealer, all parts need replacing, including brake pads. Vehicle available for inspection. *ak

Power steering rack replaced.

Consumer was involved in a collision, due to location of the impact passenger's side and the vehicle caught on fire in the in the heater box, the vehicle. The cause of the fire is unknown. *ak

Defective engine head gasket leaks oil which can spray onto the exhaust manifold and cause a fire. Dealer will need to replace engine head gasket. *ak

The brake caliper/drum disc and the transmission were replaced three times, having other problems as well, will explain and send copy of paper work . *ak

Lower control arm ball joints recalled, service denied twice because part not ordered/ in stock.

Owner states that his vehicle was in an accident and that driver's side seatback rest fell down to the rear seat of vehicle, owner could not see in front of him at the time of accident. *ak

When the car is at an idle with ac on there is electrical shorts occuring under the hood, and smoke coming in through the vents. Tt

Transmission failed at 50682 miles. Speed sensor failed at @ 52000 miles. Still having problems with downshifting with new transmission and vehicle sticking in first gear. Dealer unable to locate problem. They "think" it is the trans. Computer module. Chrysler unwilling to assist with repair cost of module.

The power assisted brakes vibrate violantly when applied. Tt when brakes are applied at speeds above 40 mph a strong vibration is felt in bth brake and steering wheel, along with the vibration a loss of braking and steering control is very noticeable, there have been numerous attempts to correct this problme, including replacement of component parts of the brake system ( brake drums and rotors) problem was identified shortly after purchase of vehicle and currently has not been corrected.*jb

Engine misses when shifted from third to fourth gear .

Vehicle has been to 2 different dealerships. The first was freedom dodge of lexington and the replaced the abs modular. The problem we were having with the car is that we could be traveling at 55 mph or 5 mph and the car would stop running. Resulting no power. Freedom could not find the problem, so we took it to superior dodge and the did a software update to the computer and still same problems happened. Installed a co-pilot and found the dist. Cap sensor was bad. Replaced, picked the car up and within 24 hours the car stalled 5 times. This vehicle has been in the shop now 9 times, going on 10. I need to know the next steps to take. This is a saftey issue. I could kill someone, or be killed in the vehicle. *ak
