  • Recall 102718 [USA]: If there is a crack in the steering bracket, at low speeds it may cause the steering to lock, leading to personal injury or a crash.
    Ohlins racing ab (ohlins) is recalling certain steering dampers kits manufactured with an incorrectly machined bracket. These dampers were sold for use as aftermarket equipment on yamaha r1, r6, and fz6, suzuki tl1000 r and gsx1300r, honda cb600rr, and ducati monster 1000, 748, 848, 916, 996, and 998 motorcycles. Also included are universal steering damper kits with part numbers sd 000 through sd 005. The affected brackets may crack.
    ohlins will notify the distributors and provide their customers with a new bracket. The recall began in november 2013. Owners may contact ohlins usa at 1-828-692-4525. Note: this recall is an expansion of recall 13e-034.

  • Recall 8204 [USA]: This condition could cause the spindle to fail affecting the control of the motorcycle, and could result in a crash.
    Vehicle description: motorcycles equipped with a rear wheel hub spindle. Internal cracks may be present on the rear wheel spindle.
    dealers will inspect the rear wheel spindle and replace if necessary.

  • Recall 13580 [USA]: The engine may not return to proper idle.
    Vehicle description: motorcycles. The throttle control linkage pin was not lubricated properly.
    dealers will lubricate the throttle control linkage pin using grease containing molybdenum disulphide.

  • Recall 16749 [USA]: This condition can cause the accelerator to stick open partially, increasing the potential for a vehicle accident.
    The teflon bushing for the throttle cable can slide out of the throttle cable housing.
    dealers will modify the throttle cable assembly by eliminating the teflon bushing inside the cable.

  • Recall 17622 [USA]: This condition can potentially cause the brake disc to become loose, interfere with the brake caliper support plate, causing noise and reduced rear brake performance increasing the risk of an accident.
    Some motorcycles were produced without the application of the proper loctite adhesive on the rear brake disc and counter shaft chain sprocket screws.
    dealers will remove, inspect, clean and reinstall the rear brake disc screws and counter shaft chain sprocket screws and apply the proper loctite adhesive.

  • Recall 20074 [USA]: This condition could affect the control of the motorcycle and increase the potential for a vehicle accident.
    The side stand spring plate on the retractable side stand can break allowing the side stand to drop and possibly hit the ground while the vehicle is in motion.

  • Recall RM/97/004 [UK]: Possible "twisting" of rear axle
    A) under extreme circumstances it is possible for the rear axle to "twist". B) throttle linkage may require cleaning and lubrication.
    the affected machines are being recalled for:- a) replacement of the rear axle with a modified unit. B) at the same time the throttle linkage control pin will be cleaned and lubricated.

  • Recall RM/2000/012 [UK]: Possible flaw in rear axle
    The rear wheel shaft forging may contain a flaw which could cause it to crack and subsequently fail when the motorcycle is being ridden.
    recall affected motorcycles and ultrasonically check all rear wheel shafts for flaws. Replace with quality assured shafts where appropriate.

  • Recall RM/98/004 [UK]: Erratic throttle operation
    Throttle action may become erratic due to inadequate lubrication.
    recall the potentially affected machines disconnect throttle linkage from throttle body lever clean and examine linkage. Lubricate and reassemble. Check for freedom and smoothness of operation.

  • Recall RM/97/011 [UK]: Possible seizure of rear wheel
    The roller bearings on the rear hub of the subject machines may not have been lubricated when installed. This could lead to bearing seizure and locking of the rear wheel.
    affected machines are being recalled to have the rear hub bearings inspected. Any bearings which display signs of corrosion or discoloration will be replaced.

  • Recall 2002075 [Canada]: Powertrain
    On certain motorcycles, it is possible that the clutch slave cylinder may leak internally causing the clutch control to jam. This could affect the control of the motorcycle and cause a crash. Correction: dealers will replace the clutch slave cylinder.

  • Recall 2001020 [Canada]: Suspension
    On certain vehicles, internal cracks on the rear wheel spindle could cause the spindle to fail. This could adversely affect vehicle control and a crash could result. Correction: spindles will be ultrasonically tested and replaced if necessary.

  • Recall 1998096 [Canada]: Suspension
    It is possible, under extreme circumstances, that the rear spindle may break. This could affect control of the motorcycle and result in an accident. Correction: dealers will replace the rear spindle, rear hub roller bearing, seal rings and disc brake screws and lubricate the hub roller bearing and seals.

  • Recall 1998097 [Canada]: Engine
    The throttle control linkage on these vehicles may not return properly due to lack of lubrication. This could adversely affect driver control and result in a crash without prior warning. Correction: throttle control linkage pin will be lubricated.

  • Recall 1995117 [Canada]: Brakes
    Defect: some motorcycles may have been produced without the application of the proper loctite adhesive on the rear brake disc and counter shaft chain sprocket screws. This condition may cause the brake disc to become loose and interfere with the brake caliper support plate, causing noise and possible reduction of the rear brake efficiency. Correction: affected rear brake disc screws and counter shaft chain sprocket screws will be reinstalled and the proper loctite applied.

  • Recall 1995118 [Canada]: Structure
    Defect: the side stand spring plate may break. In the event of failure, the side stand will drop and possibly hit the ground. This could affect the control of the motorcycle and cause an accident. Correction: a modified spring plate will be installed.

  • Recall 1995145 [Canada]: Powertrain
    Defect: the teflon bushing may slide out of the cable housing and cause the accelerator to stick partially open resulting in excessive speed and a possible accident. Correction: the throttle cable with teflon bushing will be replaced by one with plastic bushing.
