  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain 2007-2011 ranger, 2006-2012 fusion, lincoln zephyr, lincoln mkz, 2006-2011 mercury milan, 2007-2010 ford edge, and lincoln mkx vehicles. The driver's side air bag inflator may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.
  ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver-side airbag inflator or module with an alternate one, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on april 9, 2021 for the passenger side, and november 14, 2022 for the driver side. Owners may contact ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. • Recall 70766 [USA]: Non-functioning lights could increase the risk of a crash.
  Ford is recalling certain model year 2011 ranger trucks built from january 25, 2011, through april 25, 2011 at the twin cities assembly plant, and service parts distributed to dealers for certain 2004 through 2011 model year ranger trucks, 2002 through 2005 model year excursion vehicles, and 2002 through 2007 model year f-250, f-350, f-450, and f-550 trucks for failing to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment." the multi-function switch was shipped with a subcomponent (slider) that may experience deformation. A multi-function switch with a deformed slider may malfunction causing the turn signal, tail lights, hazard warning signal flashers and/or brake lights not to activate.

  Ford is recalling 11,134 my 2009 4x2 ranger vehicles. Some front wheel spindles were improperly manufactured creating the risk that a spindle may fracture during the normal useful life of the truck.

• Recall 2011251 [Canada]: Lights and instruments
  On certain 2011 ranger vehicles, the multi-function switch, installed during vehicle assembly, could malfunction and fail. Additionally, other vehicle models may have received the affected switch as a replacement part during service, and are therefore also involved in this campaign. Failure of the multi-function switch could result in a loss of turn signal, tail lamp, hazard warning signal flasher and/or stop lamp function. Failure of these lighting components to illuminate may result in the following road users being unaware of the driver's intentions, as well as reducing vehicle conspicuity during hours of darkness, which could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the multi-function switch.

  On certain ranger 4x2 pickup trucks, the front spindle may have been manufactured without proper heat treating. As a result the spindle may, over time, fatigue to fracture without warning, which could allow the front spindle and wheel to separate from the vehicle. A wheel separation may result in a loss of control which could lead to a crash, causing property damage, personal injury, or death. Correction: dealers will verify the front spindle manufacturing date and, if necessary, replace the spindle assembly.

My parents 2009 ford ranger has had an ongoing issue with the brakes. We took it to the local ford dealership and they diagnosed the problem as a wheel speed sensor was not working. They installed it and it didn't resolve the problem! On day two, they came up with a new diagnosis that the tone/exciter ring was damaged by a previous mechanic/brake job. The truck has less than 35,000 miles. They wanted another $400 to replace the tone ring. I declined because it was way too much money after paying $300 for the sensor. They said they couldn't warranty their work, afterwards, i began to research ford brake issues, and specifically abs & tone ring issues. It turns out, that after looking at various youtube videos, ford forumns, articles, etc. I learned that ford has had significant abs issues especially in 2008 and 2009. Even more interesting was the fact that many models have had the same problems (focus and escape) and have may have been recalled. Not 100% sure, but the ranger has not. Basically, the tone ring is attached to the wheel hub/axle and spins with the tire. This creates a magnetic field wherein the sensor determines the speed of the wheel. If the tone ring is damaged, the sensor sends various error codes to the ecm at which point the abs brake will disengage the brakes on the wheel affected. And then it will engage the brakes, and repeat this until the vehicle comes to a stop. Essentially, the abs system overrides the break pedal and you lose braking ability on that wheel. Not only that, with my vehicle, the abs warning lights have never come on; even after they replaced the sensor. The vehicle is getting worse. At every stop it's making noises and it's harder to stop the vehicle. As i said earlier, the theory is the corrosion of the axle is breaking the ring, which is another non rusting metal, i'm pretty sure the dealership did not examine the ring. Help!!!!

Our 2009 ford ranger vin # not covered by recall - it should be. Ford refuses to acknowledge the problem or cover the repair for our vin #. Part # reference [xxx]. Tl* the contact owns a 2009 ford ranger. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 19v001000 (air bags). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and stated that the part was not available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Ford dealerships are unable to get parts needed to fix the open recall for the drivers side airbags.

My father was killed in downtown meade kansas less than 20 miles per hour hit by 2 semis on highway 54. I have no idea whether airbags were involved in his death but i thought drivers side had been replaced they hadn't got drivers side last week! He was turning left have traffic report but in some part officer lied on report, i tried to grt 3 attornies to take to court but none wanted to cause of immunity.*dt*dt *dt

"takata recall" i have been trying to get an appointment to have this air bag replaced. This is safety recall notice19s01 / nhtsa recall 19v-010. It is on a 2009 ford ranger pickup. It has been 3 months sense i went in to schedule an appointment, been back in 2 more times t see what the hold up is & i get the run around. I just called ford motors and they suggested that i go to a dealer 30 miles away. My local dealer where i bought the truck new is less than 1 mile away. I have received three airbag safety recall notices 18s01 with hone number 866-436-7332 & 866-436-7332 but when i call they do not recognize the recall number so am not able to schedule an appointment. My second problem is i live in alaska on an island the nearest ford dealer is 300 miles by ferry it takes about 14 hours one way to get to a dealer for repairs. Even if i get approval it would cost at least $1000. For ferry ticket for the car and driver, hotel, food to get to juneau. I would appricate a reply on the raecall issue from you.
