• Recall 134186 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
  Isuzu technical center of america, inc. (isuzu) is recalling certain 2011-2017 isuzu npr, 2008 npr hd and npr-hd gas, 2011-2018 npr hd and nrr, 2015-2018 npr xd, 2012-2018 nqr, 2012-2017 npr gas and npr-hd gas, 2016-2017 chevrolet low cab forward 3500 hd, 3500 and 4500 and 2017-2018 chevrolet low cab forward 4500 hd, 4500 xd, 5500 hd and 5500 xd vehicles, equipped with certain walter kidde plastic-handle fire extinguishers, models fc10 and fc110. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable.
  isuzu will notify owners, instructing them to contact kidde to get a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in december 2017.   Isuzu technical center of america, inc. (isuzu) is recalling certain model year 2008-2009 and 2012-2013 isuzu npr and npr hd vehicles and 2008-2009 gmc w3500 and gmc w4500 vehicles. The affected vehicles, equipped with a gasoline-powered engine, have a throttle pedal that may get stuck under the steel stopper bolt, causing the pedal to remain in the full throttle position.

  On certain trucks, the propeller shaft may not have received adequate heat treatment during the manufacturing process. As a result, the shaft may break and fall off while the vehicle is being driven. Separation of the driveshaft would result in lost propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash. In addition, once separated from the vehicle the driveshaft could cause vehicle damage or damage to other vehicles and property, and could potentially result in personal injury or death to bystanders.   On certain vehicles equipped with an oil pan heater, over time, dust, dirt and moisture may collect at the contact point between the oil pan heater cord and the extension cord. As a result, the extension cord could overheat, which may melt the oil pan heater plug and/or block heater plug (if equipped). This could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will inspect and clean the oil pan heater plug and the engine block heater plug (if equipped). Heat damaged plugs will be replaced. In addition, dealers will replace the extension cord and advise owners to store the cord indoors when not in use.

  On certain vehicles with gasoline powered engines, the accelerator pedal could move laterally, allowing the accelerator pedal bracket to be hung up on the stopper bolt on the floor panel bracket. This would cause the accelerator pedal to remain in the open position, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will remove and replace the stopper bolt with a flanged plate that will be bolted to the floor bracket to prevent lateral movement of the accelerator pedal. Note: this recall is an expansion of recall 2016-545.

Truck lost power suddenly while driving. As the gas pedal applied, the truck stalled and kicked back to the low rpm. Vehicle now can only drive at 20mph max speed. Local auto repair shop retrieved the hard code to be the throttle position sensor problem. Call the isuzu npr dealership for parts, but none is available on nationwide. Go to the local autopart store, but nothing is available. On 03/12/12 ask the local autopart store call directly to the oem gas pedal, none is available. Call the isuzu npr dealership again, but they can't help. This truck has a serious safety issue. Please help! *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 isuzu npr . While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle began to decelerate abnormally. The contact applied pressure to the accelerator pedal but the vehicle continued to decelerate. After shutting the vehicle off and restarting, the vehicle would drive normally. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics yet the technicians were unable to duplicate or diagnose the failure. There were repairs performed to the vehicle but the contact was not certain of what repairs were made. The failure continued after the repairs were performed. The vehicle was not further repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 200.
