SB-10050139-3912 BULLETIN NUMBER: SB12-K-002 IMPORTANT SERVICE INFORMATION FOR: SERVICE MANAGER SERVICE ADVISOR TECHNICIAN PARTS DEPARTMENT WARRANTY PERSONNEL ISSUE DATE: DECEMBER 2012 GROUP: TRANSMISSION AISIN TRANSMISSION BREATHER HOSE RESTRICTION – UPDATED VENT AFFECTED VEHICLES 2007-2012MY Isuzu N-Series 2007-2010MY Chevrolet/GMC W-Series Equipped with AISIN A460/A465 Automatic Transmission CONDITION Some customers may complain about automatic transmission fluid leaking from the top of the transmission dipstick tube. This condition is commonly caused by a restriction in the transmission breather. Isuzu investigation of this restriction has found common causes to be insect nesting and/or debris left by flooding. In order to reduce the likelihood of this condition, Isuzu has introduced a newly designed breather hose vent. Should you have a customer experiencing the above condition and find it to be caused by a restriction in the breather hose, install the new breather hose vent as outlined in the service procedure in this bulletin. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Remove the transmission breather hose. a. Remove the hose clamp and reuse for install. b. Remove the P-clamp and discard along with the old hose. (A) (B) Figure 1 – Original Breather Hose Location A. P-Clip B. Hose Clamp 2. Install the trans vent hose into the air breather hose clip. a. The hose must be placed into the top of the guide so the end touches the wall. b. The clip should be closed by locking the six latches. IMPORTANT: Be sure to set the hose on the inside back of the clip, as shown in Figure 2a. If improperly set on the lid side, it will allow the hose to move and become pinched.
