CONDITION
Some customers may complain about automatic transmission fluid leaking from the top
of the transmission dipstick tube. This condition is commonly caused by a restriction in
the transmission breather. Isuzu investigation of this restriction has found common
causes to be insect nesting and/or debris left by flooding. In order to reduce the
likelihood of this condition, Isuzu has introduced a newly designed breather hose vent.
Should you have a customer experiencing the above condition and find it to be caused
by a restriction in the breather hose, install the new breather hose vent as outlined in
the service procedure in this bulletin.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Remove the transmission breather hose.
a. Remove the hose clamp and reuse for install.
b. Remove the P-clamp and discard along with the old hose.

2. Install the trans vent hose into the air breather hose clip.
a. The hose must be placed into the top of the guide so the end touches
the wall.
b. The clip should be closed by locking the six latches.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to set the hose on the inside back of the clip, as
shown in Figure 2a. If improperly set on the lid side, it will allow the
hose to move and become pinched.
