Recall 198736 [USA]: A gas leak can increase the risk of a fire.
Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling certain 2019-2020 jayco alante, precept, greyhawk, redhawk, entegra esteem, and odyssey motorhomes equipped with dometic 3 burner cooking stoves. The saddle valve securing bolt may be overtightened, possibly damaging the o-ring seal and causing a continuous gas leak. jayco will notify owners, and dometic service centers will install a remedy kit of gaskets, washers, thread locker bolts, and two round orange labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on may 3, 2021. Owners may contact jayco customer service at 1-617-776-0344. Recall 142272 [USA]: If the wiring in the circuit overheats, it can increase the risk of fire.
Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling certain 2014-2019 precept, 2016-2019 alante and 2019 precept prestige motorhomes built on a ford f53 chassis. The blower motor electrical circuit may be missing the 25amp fuse, possibly resulting in overheating of the wiring. jayco has notified owners, and dealers will install a 25amp fuse, free of charge. Recall 126391 [USA]: The driver's reduced visibility can increase the risk of a crash.
Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling certain 2019 jayco alante and precept motorhomes. When traveling at highway speeds, the windshield wiper arms may lift away from the windshield when the wiper speed setting is on high, decreasing the wiper's ability to clear the windshield. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 104, "windshield wiping and washing systems." jayco has notified owners, and dealers will replace the wiper system, free of charge. Recall 134027 [USA]: An overloaded vehicle has an increased risk of a crash.
Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling certain 2018-2019 jayco alante, precept, seneca, redhawk, and melbourne motorhomes. The cargo carrying capacity (ccc) label incorrectly overstates the cargo capacity, potentially causing the vehicle to be overloaded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 120, "wheels and rims - other than passenger cars." jayco will notify owners, and will provided a corrected ccc label, free of charge. Recall 2021178 [Canada]: Accessories
Issue: on certain motorhomes equipped with a dometic propane gas stove, there could be an odour of propane gas after a short period of use. If a user attempts to tighten the bolt for the stove's valve in order to stop the smell, they could over-tighten the bolt and cause damage to a seal. This can result in a constant gas leak. Safety risk: a propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective action: jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealer to replace the defective hardware and perform a leak test. To reduce the safety risk, jayco recommends that you should not use the propane system or any propane appliance in the motorhome until the recall repairs have been completed.
Recall 2019167 [Canada]: Electrical
Issue: on certain motorhomes, the dash blower motor does not have proper fuse protection. As a result, an electrical overload or short circuit could cause the wiring to overheat. Safety risk: wiring that overheats could create a risk of a fire. Corrective actions: the company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealer to install a fuse for the dash blower. A 25 ampere fuse will be installed in position 23 in the power distribution box. Dealers will also install a label in the fuse box noting "fuse position 23 max. 25 a".
Recall 2018363 [Canada]: Visual system
Certain motorhomes may not comply with the requirements of canada motor vehicle safety standard (cmvss) 104 – windshield wiping and washing system. When travelling at higher speeds, with the wiper speed setting set to high, the wiper arms could lift away from the windshield and not be able to clean the windshield. This would reduce the driver’s visibility under certain conditions, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will replace the original wiper arms with ones of a new design that will correctly contact and clean the windshield.
