Jayco Alante 2020

• Recall 198741 [USA]: A gas leak can increase the risk of a fire.
  Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling certain 2019-2020 jayco alante, precept, greyhawk, redhawk, entegra esteem, and odyssey motorhomes equipped with dometic 3 burner cooking stoves. The saddle valve securing bolt may be overtightened, possibly damaging the o-ring seal and causing a continuous gas leak.
  jayco will notify owners, and dometic service centers will install a remedy kit of gaskets, washers, thread locker bolts, and two round orange labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on may 3, 2021. Owners may contact jayco customer service at 1-617-776-0344. Jayco's number for this recall is 9903566.

• Recall 146749 [USA]: Excessive surface temperatures can increase the risk of injury to the occupants.
  Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling certain 2020-2021 jayco alante, precept, entegra vision, 2021 jayco precept prestige, entegra vision xl, and emblem motorhomes built on a ford f-53 chassis. The engine covers may not contain sufficient heat insulation, causing the interior surface temperatures to be excessive.
  jayco will notify owners, and dealers will install an additional insulation insert, and a foam seal on the outer edge of the cover, free of charge. The recall began december 28, 2020. Owners may contact jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is 9903527.

• Recall 149721 [USA]: If the window glass detaches while the vehicle is moving it could become a projectile, increasing the risk of injury or a crash.
  Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling certain 2020 motorized alante, greyhawk, melbourne, precept, redhawk, seneca, accolade, emblem, esteem, odyssey, qwest, and vision recreational vehicles. The adhesive bond between the glass and the metal hinge frame of the frameless crank out vent and egress windows may fail which would then allow the glass to detach and fall out.
  jayco will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the frameless windows for proper adhesive bond strength, replacing the windows as necessary, free of charge. This recall began june 15, 2020. Owners may contact jayco customer service at 1-800-517-9137. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901508.

• Recall 2021178 [Canada]: Accessories
  Issue: on certain motorhomes equipped with a dometic propane gas stove, there could be an odour of propane gas after a short period of use. If a user attempts to tighten the bolt for the stove's valve in order to stop the smell, they could over-tighten the bolt and cause damage to a seal. This can result in a constant gas leak. Safety risk: a propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective action: jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealer to replace the defective hardware and perform a leak test. To reduce the safety risk, jayco recommends that you should not use the propane system or any propane appliance in the motorhome until the recall repairs have been completed.

• Recall 2020531 [Canada]: Engine
  Issue: on certain motorhomes built on a ford chassis, the insulation for the engine cover may be missing. As a result, some surfaces inside the motorhome could get hot while the engine is running. Safety risk: if a person touches a hot surface, there could be a risk of a burn injury. Corrective actions: jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealer to add insulation to the engine cover. The dealer will also add a foam seal on the outer edge of the cover.

• Recall 2020258 [Canada]: Structure
  Issue: on certain motorhomes equipped with frameless windows, the glass may not be properly attached to the metal hinges. As a result, the glass could separate from the hinge and fall from the trailer. Safety risk: a window that detaches from the trailer could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealer to inspect the adhesive bonding on the window glass. Dealers will replace the glass, if necessary.

After delivery of the new vehicle is was determined that the vehicle pulls to the right and was hard to steer. Toe and caster alignment were found out of specification and the steering wheel alignment was two splines off. Neither ford or jayco will honor a warranty claim. Ford says their chassis warranty does not apply after a motorhome is installed by jayco and jayco does not warranty the ford chassis
