Recall 127483 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling various 2002-2016 recreational vehicles equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.Nhtsa.Gov/odi/rcl/2017/rmisc-17v746-9524.Pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Recall 38303 [USA]: At the incorrectly stated pressure, the rear tires are unable to support the gross axle weight rating (gawr) for the rear axle.
Certain motor homes built on ford e-450 chassis, and equipped with lt225/75r16e tires fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 120, 'tire selection and rims for motor vehicles other than passenger cars.' the tire pressure is incorrectly listed on the label for the rear tires. owners will be mailed supplementary tire labels containing the correct rear tire inflation information. Certain motor homes built on ford chassis may experience stalling without warning while driving and may or may not restart. ford motor company is conducting the owner notification and remedy for this campaign. Dealers will upgrade the fuel injection control module (ficm) wire harness or replaced, and/or have a new injection control pressure (icp)) sensor connector installed free of charge. Recall 60319 [USA]: These hot particles may ignite the air filter element with the potential for air induction system damage or underhood fire.
On certain motor homes built on ford e-series chassis, the air filter element material process resulted in an air filter paper element that can smolder or burn. This change in filter paper composition, combined with the configuration of the air induction system, may allow hot carbon particles to contact the air filter element during certain driving conditions that create hot particles. ford motor company is conducting the owner notification and remedy for this campaign. On certain motor homes, the hitch receiver may have missing reinforcing plates. When a load is applied to the hitch, it may become partially detached from the frame if these plates are missing. dealers will inspect and replace the reinforcing plates with new hardware. Certain motor homes built on chevrolet C3500 (express) cutaway chassis have a towing pigtail that will not show brake lights on the towed vehicle if hooked to the towing pigtail. dealers will rewire the towing pigtail wires to include the brake light circuit free of charge. Recall 62106 [USA]: This could result in the cable melting and creating an electrical short and/or fire.
On certain motor homes, the cable ties, which attach the main wiring harness to the frame rails, may break and cause the wire harness to drop into the exhaust system. dealers will inspect the motor homes and attach new heavy duty cable ties. Recall 2017649 [Canada]: Accessories
On certain vehicles equipped with kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by kidde directly. Recall 2008156 [Canada]: Fuel supply
On certain motorhomes, the copper lp tube feeding the slide-out room may have been incorrectly routed during vehicle assembly. This tube may bend and become damaged as a result of slide-out movement. A propane leak, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire or an explosion, which could cause property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: dealers will relocate the conduit clamp.
Recall 2005007 [Canada]: Electrical
On certain motorhomes built using a ford chassis, the battery cable may have been routed too close to the exhaust manifold. As a result the cable could melt and create an electrical short. Correction: dealers will reroute the battery cable.
Recall 2005303 [Canada]: Electrical
On certain motorhomes, the towing pigtail was wired incorrectly and, as a result, will not illuminate the brake lights on the towed vehicle. Correction: dealers will rewire the towing pigtail.
Recall 2005388 [Canada]: Other
On certain motorhomes, the trailer hitch receiver reinforcing plates were omitted during vehicle assembly. Under certain conditions, this could cause the hitch to fail during usage, possibly allowing the towed unit to separate from the towing vehicle. Correction: dealers will install hitch receiver reinforcing plates.
