On thursday(2/13/14) afternoon around 6pm we were on our way home from taking family to work. We started out of candy creek rd., reidsville, nc around 4pm it took awhile to get to the main highway which is hwy 29, candy creek rd hasn't been touched. Our last stop was in brown summit hwy 150 (half of this road scrapped) and osceola rd (not scrapped) then back on candy creek rd. On our way home the gas line underneath was ripped due to high snow in road. We smelled gas and the car wouldn't move anymore and we were stuck in the middle of the road. Aaa stated, "they couldn't provide any tow assistance but assist w/getting people to a safe location, but it would be atleast an hour for that type of assistance and to call back once the weather changed for other assistance." i walked home, which took about 30min. To get help while my father stayed in the car. Finally, around 8pm my brother,(who owns an expedition), was on his way in from work and bringing another aunt home from work, was able to pull the car out of the middle of the road. The car(1985 lincoln) isn't home, but its on the side of another road that hasn't been scrapped but atleast its out of the middle of the road. We are highly disappointed that alot of the roads around us have been scrapped atleast once and our road (candy creek rd), which connects people from hwy 150 to hwy 29 was overlooked. We are aware that the secondary roads would take awhile (which meant out neighborhood), but to overlook a main state road that is used by many is unacceptable. Whenever they scrapped bus. 29, they scrapped the entrance of candy creek rd. Why couldn't they have just gone all the way through to the hwy 150 side??? I've missed two days of work because i couldn't get out and possibly a third if the road isn't scrapped today, since one vehicle has already been damaged i don't know if i'll chance another one. *tr
