Recall 129562 [USA]: The build up of heat in the wiring from the loose power connection can increase the risk of a fire.
Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling certain model year 2016-2018 bay star, bay star sport, canyon star, dutch star, essex, king aire, london aire, mountain aire, new aire, ventana and ventana le motorhomes. These vehicles may have a loose power connection at the automatic transfer switch (ats), possibly resulting in a build up of heat. newmar will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the electrical connection at the ats, tightening it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on february 5, 2018. Recall 128360 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling various 1995-2018 motorhomes. A list of the affected vehicles available at: https://static.Nhtsa.Gov/odi/rcl/2017/rmisc-17v809-2309.Pdf. These motorhomes are equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Recall 108845 [USA]: If the vehicle can be shifted into reverse without the brakes being applied, the vehicle may unintentionally move, increasing the risk of a crash.
Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling certain model year 2016 bay star sport, bay star, and canyon star vehicles manufactured july 8, 2015, to september 23, 2015. Due to an incorrect shift cable bracket and an improper shift cable adjustment, the affected vehicles can be shifted out of 'park' without applying the brakes. newmar will notify owners, and ford dealers will replace the transmission shift control bracket and adjust the transmission shift cable, free of charge. Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling certain model year 2016 bay star, bay star sport and canyon star motorhomes manufactured july 8, 2015, to september 14, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the parking brake actuator may be out of calibration causing the parking brake system to not properly hold the vehicle even with the parking brake pedal fully depressed. Additionally, the parking brake may not disengage completely when the parking brake pedal is released. newmar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the parking brake foot pedal assembly, free of charge. The recall began on october 22, 2015. On certain motorhomes equipped with kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by kidde directly. Certain motorhomes built on ford f-53 and f-59 chassis may have been built with an incorrect shift cable bracket. This could allow the transmission to be shifted into reverse without the brakes being applied, which could increase the risk of unintended vehicle movement, potentially resulting in a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: ford authorized service centers will replace and adjust the shift cable bracket.

On certain motorhomes, the emergency brake cable and pedal may not have been properly reinstalled after chassis modifications were done. As a result, the park brake system may not properly hold the vehicle even with the park brake pedal fully depressed. This could also cause the park brake system to remain partially engaged when the park brake pedal is released causing the brake shoes to drag on the drum and potentially overheat the brakes. These issues would increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will replace the parking brake foot pedal assembly.
