Description
Newmar Corporation has decided that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in specific motorhomes.
Issue: On certain motorhomes, there may be a loose electrical connection to the automatic transfer switch
(ATS) that was not properly tightened. If the power connection is loose, it may result in a buildup of heat at
the connection, which may increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property.
Correction: Dealers will inspect the electrical connections and perform the repair if necessary.
Affected Units: Refer to the attached population list for specific coach and VIN numbers.
Recommended Action
Inspect the transfer switch and torque the electrical connections to the specified torque on the transfer
switch cover, and submit the claim.
If the transfer switch components or wiring are damaged from heat buildup, submit photos, and contact
your Newmar Service Account Manager for authorization of additional labor time and/or parts.
