• Recall 127629 [USA]: A brake fluid leak or air ingestion can lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling certain 2017 bay star, bay star sport, and canyon star vehicles, built on ford chassis and equipped with antilock brake systems (abs). The brake hydraulic electronic control units (hecu) on these vehicles may be missing valve block ball plugs, potentially causing a brake fluid leak or air ingestion during electronic brake distribution and/or abs activation.
  newmar will notify owners, and ford or lincoln dealers will inspect the hecu for missing valve block ball plugs, replacing the unit as necessary, free of charge.   Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling certain model year 2016-2018 bay star, bay star sport, canyon star, dutch star, essex, king aire, london aire, mountain aire, new aire, ventana and ventana le motorhomes. These vehicles may have a loose power connection at the automatic transfer switch (ats), possibly resulting in a build up of heat.

• Recall 128383 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

These motorhomes are equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. • Recall 122829 [USA]: Unintentional movement of the wheelchair lift can cause injury to the lift occupant and/or the lift operator.
  Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling certain model year 2012-2017 canyon star motor homes manufactured september 7, 2011, to september 6, 2016 and equipped with wheelchair lifts. Incorrect bolts may have been used to install the wheelchair lift base. These bolts may unexpectedly break allowing the lift to move. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 404, "platform lift installations."

  Newmar corporation (newmar) is recalling certain model year 2015-2017 canyon star recreational vehicles manufactured june 5, 2014, to september 6, 2016. These vehicles have a wheelchair access door with a power door lock that may open while the vehicle is in motion if the keyfob button is pressed accidentally.

  On certain motorhomes equipped with kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by kidde directly.   On certain motorhomes, the wheelchair access door with power lock option may not operate as designed. If the remote key fob is pressed while the motorhome is moving, the wheelchair access door could open. This could cause a loss of vehicle control which increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will add a relay harness to prevent the wheelchair access door from opening when the vehicle is in transit.

On may 3, 2021 while driving i-71 s in ohio during a heavy rain storm, i experienced a catastrophic failure of the windshield wiper system. I was travelling approx. 55 mph. Either the wiper arm (where it's attached to the motor) failed and caused the bracket holding the motor to fail, or the bracket failed and caused the wiper arms to fail. Both wipers, driver's and passenger side fell down away from the windshield. I was not able to see out of the windshield and had to pull off the highway.
