Stokes basket mounting brackets may be insufficiently welded. pierce will replace the stokes basket mounting brackets, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed december 14, 2022. Recall 156196 [USA]: Unintended movement of the aerial device can increase the risk of injury.
Pierce manufacturing (pierce) is recalling certain 2018-2020 arrow xt, dash, enforcer, impel, quantum, and velocity vehicles. Due to a problem with the joystick controller, the vehicle's aerial device may move without operator input. pierce will notify owners, and dealers will replace the potentially affected joysticks, free of charge. Recall 137295 [USA]: If the brake lights incorrectly illuminate, it can confuse other drivers, possibly increasing the risk of a crash.
Pierce manufacturing (pierce) is recalling certain 2017-2018 pierce arrow xt, dash, enforcer, impel, quantum, saber, velocity, and commercial vehicles equipped with whelen accessory brake lights. Depending on the specific wiring of the vehicle, these brake lights may illuminate when the brake pedal has not been pressed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment." pierce will notify owners, and whelen will inspect the vehicles and replace the brake lights, as necessary, free of charge. Recall 2020589 [Canada]: Accessories
Issue: on certain aerial fire trucks, a defect in the joystick controller could cause it to fail. If the joystick were to fail, the aerial device could move unexpectedly. As an emergency step, the operator can stop this movement of the aerial device by activating the emergency stop function. Safety risk: an aerial device that moves unexpectedly could create a risk of injury. Corrective actions: pierce will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your fire truck to a pierce authorized facility to replace all joystick controllers on the aerial device.
Recall 2020240 [Canada]: Structure
Issue: on certain aerial fire trucks, the ladder could rotate unexpectedly to the right when it is being extended due to an error with the control module. Safety risk: a ladder that moves unexpectedly could create an increased risk of injury. Corrective actions: pierce has repaired all affected fire trucks.
