Prevost X3-45 Vip 2023

• Recall 260260 [USA]: Beacons that do not provide proper illumination may be less visible to wheelchair lift users, increasing the risk of injury.
  Prevost car (us) inc. (prevost) is recalling certain 2014 and 2018 h3-41, 2013-2024 h3-45, 2012-2024 x3-45, and 2017-2023 x3-45 commuter vehicles. The red beacon lighting on the threshold warning system (tws) may not be bright enough. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 403, "platform lift systems."
  prevost will replace the red beacons, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed february 6, 2024. A second notice will be mailed once the remedy is available. • Recall 244029 [USA]: A relay that overheats can increase the risk of a fire.
  Prevost car (us) inc. (prevost) is recalling certain 2024 h3-45, 2023-2024 h3-45 vip, x3-45 vip, x3-45 vip entertainer, and 2023 x3-45 motor coaches. The grid heater cables that connect to the relay may have a loose connection and cause the relay to overheat.
  prevost will inspect and replace damaged components, and tighten the grid heater relay nuts, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed december 30, 2023. Owners may contact prevost customer service at 1-908-222-7211. Prevost's number for this recall is sr23-42.

  Prevost car (us) inc. (prevost) is recalling certain 2023 x3-45 vip entertainer motor coaches. The grommet that protects the electrical power distribution cables passing through a metallic panel was not installed, allowing the cables to chafe on the edges of the panel and potentially short circuit.
  owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy is performed. Prevost will inspect and install the grommet, if necessary, free of charge.   Prevost car (us) inc. (prevost) is recalling certain 2010-2023 h3-45, h3-45 vip, x3-45, x3-45 com, and x3-45 vip vehicles. In the event of the alternator front bearing seizing, the alternator belt may continue to operate, causing the bearing to overheat.

• Alternator front bearing failure investigation # PE21011

  Nhtsas office of defects investigation (odi) opened a preliminary evaluation after reviewing field reports concerning alternator front bearing failures that cause elevated temperatures within the engine compartment, resulting in the fire suppression system (fss) activating, immediately shutting the engine down, and rendering the bus inoperable.Analysis of the data provided by prevost car (us) inc. Showed high failure frequency and thermal events. An immediate shutdown of the bus can increase the risk of a crash or injury of bus occupants. In response to this investigation, prevost car (us) inc. And volvo bus corporation decided to conduct recalls 22v-221 and 22v-222. By submitting part 573 defect information reports on april 6, 2022, prevost car (us) inc. And volvo bus corporation notified odi of a safety defect in certain model year (my) 2010-2023 prevost h3-45; x3-45; x3-45 com; h3-45 vip: x3-45 vip and 2020 volvo 9700 vehicles; some of these buses may have experienced thermal events after failure of the alternator front bearing, because the alternator belt continues to turn the alternator after the bearing failure.These recall actions address the safety concern that led to the opening of this investigation.Therefore, with these recall actions, this investigation is closed. The recalls encompass all model and my vehicles addressed by the investigation. However, the closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by nhtsa that a safety-related defect does not exist in other model or my vehicles outside of the recall scope. The agency reserves the right to take further action if warranted by the circumstances.
