  Tiffin motorhomes, inc. (tiffin) is recalling certain 2016-2024 allegro bus, and 2017-2024 zephyr motorhomes. The 240-volt induction cooktop may not be grounded, which can create an electrical shock hazard if the wires short-circuit.

• Recall 126627 [USA]: If the hitch detaches, the tow vehicle would not be connected to the motorhome, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Tiffin motorhomes, inc. (tiffin) is recalling certain 2013-2018 allegro open road motorhomes. Insufficient strength of the frame rail may allow the tow hitch to detach from the motorhome.
  tiffin will notify owners, and dealers will install an insert plate to strengthen the frame rail, free of charge. Tiffin issued owners an interim notification on may 31, 2018. • Recall 130427 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
  Tiffin motorhomes, inc. (tiffin) is recalling certain 2009-2018 allegro and allegro red, bus and phaeton vehicles, 2009-2010 bay vehicles, 2011-2018 breeze vehicles, and 2009-2015, and 2017-2018 zephyr vehicles. These motorhomes are equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers that may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. • Recall 117542 [USA]: The steering wheel's connection to the front axle could fail resulting in a sudden loss of steering ability, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Tiffin motorhomes is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 allegro phaeton and 2015-2016 allegro bus trucks manufactured october 1, 2014 to august 1, 2015, equipped with certain zf rl77 / 80em independent front steering axles equipped with bosch 8018 steering boxes. The boxes were manufactured using incorrect internal spacers that can cause premature wear in the connection between the steering wheel and the front axle.

  On certain motorhomes, the front sway bar mounting bracket may not fit on the axle mounting surface correctly. This could cause the mounting bolts to bend or become loose, which could result in the sway bar possibly detaching, which could affect vehicle handling and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage.   On certain motorhomes, the certification label on the trailer hitch may have not have the correct weight capacity information. Bulletins are notices put out by manufacturers in conjunction with the NHTSA to notify the public of manufacturing issues or changes.

There are a total of 18 vertical posts (square steel tube) that conect and suspend the coach floor frame approximately 1.5 inches above the chassis rails. Per tiffin service representatives, these posts are to be welded to the chassis on both sides where the square steel tube interfaces the chassis rail by approximately 2 inches. On 1/15/18, i performed an inspection of these welds based on many documented cases from other tiffin allegro owners of failed house-to-chassis welds, and i found all 18 posts welded on only one side and one failed weld that had a complete full-length crack. Tiffin is fully aware of this manufacturing error as many coaches have experienced weld failures on all passenger side posts resulting in a collapse of the house onto the chassis rail. This presents a significant safety concern as vehicle handling can be adversely affected by such a collapse. Many of these coaches have returned to tiffin's red bay service center in alabama where mechanics correctly secure the posts with welds on both sides of each post. Tiffin has not notified any owner of this manufacturing error and the associated safety risks. Furthermore, they refuse to authorize a reasonable amount for other service centers to perform the necessary repairs. Instead, once questioned about these faulty welds, they encourage their customers to travel to their one facility in alabama so their own mechanics can perform the repairs at no charge.

On sunday, september 24, 2017 at about 3:00 pm, my wife and i were traveling at 60 mph on i - 76 in commerce city, a suburb of denver, colorado. Suddenly the brake light flashed on, then multiple other dashboard indicators began flashing, the engine died completely and the brakes and steering worked poorly. I had to quickly cross several lanes of traffic to stop on the shoulder of the expressway. Ford roadside assistance helped arrange to have the vehicle towed. The tow truck arrived at 8:45. We were subsequently parked at a rush truck center at 9:45 that evening. On sept 25, rush truck center diagnosed the motorhome with engine shutdown, blown fuses and total disconnect of the pcm. According to the invoice, 0.049042 'the rv builder being the cause of the failure.' a copy of the invoice and a picture of the pinched harness are attached.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 tiffin allegro. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 mph with the cruise control activated, the throttle body was getting stuck, the accelerator pedal was slow to respond when reversing or while in drive, and the contact had to maneuver the pedal when the failure happened. The vehicle was taken to two different dealers where the failure was unable to be replicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The tiffin allegro phaeton 44oh was parked in front of our home on january 2, 2017. At approximately 2:30am our home security camera captured a fire start in the wet bay area. The fire quickly spread to the entire center section of the vehicle. City fire investigators and an independent fire forensic investigation company identified the wet bay are as the location where the fire ignited (coinciding with the home security video). One day prior to the fire, we noted that the gfci outlet in the wet bay was not working and it quickly tripped off when we attempted to reset it. Additionally, we reviewed our tiffin dealer orientation videos and learned that the manufacturer began installing these 110v outlets in the wet bay recently. The fire investigators were not able to locate the gfci outlet as a result of the fire heat (it was destroyed) however, their report indicates that the fire pattern indicates an ignition in this area.

The side mirrors or obstructed with reflections to the point you can't see out the mirror i could not see my wife standing behind me trying to guide me in to the camping site the mirrors are so distracting it's hard to drive the vehicle the vehicle has been like this since i bought it when you look into your drivers mirror you see what's in front of you on the right hand side i've showed this problem to many people and shops that's a it's a design flaw and it's unsafe to drive it's been in the shop since i bought it almost 2 years bob tiffin promised my wife and i that he would fix it no he tells me he doesn't know how i have to drive it using my camera only, i'm sending a link so you can see the correspondence and the videos this happens when in motion and standing still and at any speed. The manufacturer has told me i need a spotter at all times i cannot drive this vehicle by myself. Where the metal ring that the seat belt slides through attaches to the frame of the motor home above the passengers right sholder and the drivers left shoulder the mount was assembled with the incorrect parts. The stud, seat belt slide, washer and nylon locking nut are incompatible and the nylon locking nut will not seat on the threads of the stud. This allowed the nut to loosen from vibration while driving on the interstate after less than 4,ooo miles and the belt fell from the mount. The issue is the outside diameter of the stud mounted to the wall is a larger outside diameter than the inside diameter of the mounting hole of the metal seat slider that goes onto the stud. This mismatch of diameters will not allow the washer and nylon locking nut to seat properly. The nylon in the locking nut is two threads away from making any contact at all with the bolt.
