  Daimler trucks north america, llc (dtna) is recalling certain 2022-2024 western star 49x vehicles. The suspension hanger may fail due to missing welds, which can result in difficulty steering and maintaining the direction of the front two wheels.
  dtna will replace the suspension hanger, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed april 2, 2024. The brake modulator valves on the front axle may corrode and cause the vehicle to pull to the affected side during braking initiated by electronic stability control (esc) or roll stability control (rsc).

This recall expands and replaces previous recall 20v-390. All vehicles previously repaired under recall 20v-390 will need to have the new remedy performed.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 120, "wheels and rims-other than passenger cars."

  Issue: on certain trucks, the fuel tubes between the fuel rail and the injectors may crack and create a fuel leak. Note: this recall only affects trucks equipped with a cummins x12 diesel engines. Safety risk: a fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective actions: cummins will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a cummins authorized service center to replace the fuel tubes for cylinders 4, 5 and 6 and install vibration isolators.

  Issue: on certain trucks, the stainless steel cover for the side air-intake on the hood may not be properly attached. As a result, the intake cover could detach from the truck while driving. Safety risk: an air-intake cover that detaches from the truck could create a hazard for other drivers and nearby people, and could increase the risk of a crash.
