SB-10043773-1611 Cla ssification: Ref erence: ST10-009 Date: NTB12-029 March 22, 2012 ALTIMA, MAXIMA, QUEST; POWER STEERING HOSE SERVICE PART CHANGE 2002-2006 Altima (L31) 2004-2008 Maxima (A34) 2004-2009 Quest (V42) SERVICE INFORMATION If the high pressure hose on an Applied Vehicle needs to be replaced for any reason: • The hose now comes without the pressure sensor (refer to Figure 1). • When replacing this hose, reuse the existing pressure sensor. Replace the pressure sensor ONLY IF there is a pressure sensor related issue. • Do not replace other related hoses unless necessary (i.e., do not replace as a set). • Do not damage the pressure sensor during removal or installation. • Always use a new O-ring when installing a new or existing pressure sensor (refer to Figure 1). • Pressure sensor mounting torque: 19.6 N•m (2.0 kg-m, 14.5 ft lb) • If only the pressure sensor needs replacement, do not replace any hoses. • Always replace both copper washers (mounted at the power steering pump). CAUTIONS: ¾ Do not allow dirt or contamination to enter the hydraulic system. ¾ Always secure the pressure sensor mounting block in a soft jaw vise when removing and installing the pressure sensor. Do not clamp onto the “banjo” end of the hose. APPLIED VEHICLES: • Refer to the appropriate Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for power steering hose removal, installation, and torque specifications. Figure 1 (examples only, your hose appearance may be different) Nissan Bulletins are intended for use by qualified technicians, not 'do-it-yourselfers'. Qualified technicians are properly trained individuals who have the equipment, tools, safety instruction, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. NOTE: If you believe that a described condition may apply to a particular vehicle, DO NOT assume that it does. See your Nissan dealer to determine if this applies to your vehicle. 1/2 PARTS INFORMATION DESCRIPTION HOSE & TUBE ASSY-PRESS, PS APPLICATION HOSE W/O SWITCH QTY L31 WITH QR25 49720 3Z60B 1 L31 WITH VQ35 49720 8J10B 1 A34 49720 7Y00B 1 V42 49720 CK00B 1 APPLICATION DESCRIPTION PART NUMBER ALL O-RING 49345 6N200 ALL SEN ASSY-PRESS.PS 49763 6N20A 1 ALL GASKET-CONNECTOR (COPPER WASHER) 49726 Y0100 2 2/2 1
