  Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain 2008-2011 titan, frontier, xterra, pathfinder, armada, and 2008-2009 quest vehicles. The resin emblem on the driver's air bag cover may develop cracks and detach during air bag deployment.
  dealers will replace the driver?S airbag cover. Owner letters were mailed december 8, 2023. Owners may contact nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall are pc944, pc945, and pc946.

• Recall 74295 [USA]: The driver will experience unusual and noticeable looseness in the pedal and a reduction in braking force increasing the risk of a crash.
  Nissan is recalling certain model year 2008-2010 titan, armada, and infiniti qx56, and model year 2008-2009 nissan quest vehicles. The brake pedal pivot pin end was not spin-formed to specification during the manufacturing process of the brake pedal assembly. The pivot pin could slide and cause the brake pedal to partially disengage from the brake pedal bracket.
  dealers will inspect to see if the pivot pin had been formed properly and will replace the brake pedal assembly if necessary free of charge. The safety recall began on march 22, 2010. Owners may contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

• Recall 81962 [USA]: This may result in the manual seat pawl not fully engaging increasing the risk of personal injuries in the event of a crash.
  Nissan is recalling 1,126 my 2008 quest, titan and armada vehicles equipped with manual adjustment front seats. These vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 207, "seating systems." the seat track assembly may have been manufactured out of specification.
  dealers will inspect the seat track assembly on the driver's and front passenger seats and replace the entire seat assembly free of charge. The recall began on may 27, 2008. Owners may contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

• Recall 2010062 [Canada]: Brakes
  On certain vehicles, the brake pedal pivot pin end was not properly manufactured. As a result, the pin may not remain in place, causing the brake pedal to partially disengage from the brake pedal bracket. If this occurs, the driver will experience unusual and noticeable looseness in the pedal and a reduction in braking force. A reduction in braking force may lead to increased stopping distances and the risk of a crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: owners of all potentially affected vehicles will be contacted and their brake pedal assembly will be inspected and replaced if necessary.

• Recall 2008129 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
  Certain vehicles may have been assembled with faulty seat track assemblies. Specifically, the driver's inboard, and the passenger's outboard seat tracks, may have undersized slots in two locations. This may result in the manual seat pawl not fully engaging in those slots. Should the vehicle be involved in a crash, occupants of front seats with affected seat tracks would be exposed to an increased risk of personal injury or death. Correction: dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the entire seat assembly.

• Fuel level gauge system failure investigation # PE14012

  On may 8, 2014, the office of defects investigations (odi) opened preliminary evaluation pe14-012 to investigate allegations of inaccurate fuel tank fill level while driving resulting in the vehicle running out of fuel in model year (my) 2007 nissan quest vehicles.During this investigation, nissan identified a condition in the subject vehicles that may result in the fuel gauge falsely indicating more than the actual amount of fuel remaining in the gas tank. According to nissan, the combination meter voltage divider circuit for the sender unit may have one of two resistors open or lifted resulting in a fuel gauge malfunction and inaccurate fuel level reading.When this condition occurs, the fuel gauge in the combination meter will continue to track the actual amount of fuel in the gas tank down to approximately one quarter of a tank.However, the fuel gauge will not go any lower which may cause drivers to run out of fuel unexpectedly.Additionally, odi analyzed complaint data provided by nissan as well as complaints submitted to odi from consumers. In total, odi identified 136 unique complaints indicating an inaccurate fuel level reading while driving in the subject vehicles. Seventy (70) fuel gauge related stalls were identified, resulting in a complaint rate of 1.85 incidents per thousand vehicles after approximately 8 years in service. In addition, analysis of warranty and combination meter part sales data provided by nissan indicate a claim rate of less than 1% for all part replacements involving fuel gauge malfunctions.During pe14-012, nissan developed a remedy procedure and issued service campaign pc 335 on approximately 68,003 my 2007 through 2009 nissan quest vehicles.Owners of the affected vehicles will receive preliminary notification by mail recommending owners to keep fuel level above ½ tank at all times until repair parts become available.Once the remedy kits become available, nissan plans to send another letter to affected customers to take their vehicle to a nissan dealer who will install an external amplifier box with jumper harness in the combination meter to bypass the electric circuit and ensure accurate fuel level indication.The bulletin was sent to dealers on december 19th, 2014 and the owner letter mailing began on december 31st, 2014. The contact owns a 2008 nissan quest. The contact stated while having routine maintenance by an independent mechanic, she was informed that the frame was rotten and had several holes. Additionally, the control arms were loose and the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The contact stated while driving the steering wheel was shaking and was unable to accelerate over 40 mph. The accelerator pedal was depressed and traveled to the floorboard. The contact stated the check engine, traction control,abs, brake light and slip warning indicator lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic who confirmed that the subframe needed to be replaced the vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was taken to the first mechanic who informed that the subframe was not replaced. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 100,000.

The fuel gauge shows an incorrect reading. The indicator shows that it is empty even when i refuel it with full tank. The car stops on the road as the fuel shows an incorrect reading which poses a dangerous threat. I have got the fuel pump replaced three times. It is very frustrating to spend so much time and money and not getting the issue fixed. The car also failed inspection because of this issue. There is a recall for 2007-2008-2009 nissan quests' but my 2008 nissan quest is not included in the recall!

While the engine was on and the car in drive, but stopped with my foot on the brake, the engine unexpectedly revved up to about 6000 rpm. The first time was about 2 months ago, in a parking lot. I thought perhaps i had inadvertently pressed the accelerator while my foot was on the brake. Two days ago it happened again. This time i had driven about half a mile, stopped the car for a couple of minutes, and when i started again the engine raced once it was put in gear. I had to turn it off and then on 3 times for it to come back to normal. Yesterday i drove about one mile to a traffic light, and while i was stopped waiting for the light to change the car started to rev high and move into the intersection until i moved it out of drive. I had to shut off and restart for it to return to normal. About 15 or 20 more miles of driving and a half dozen stops, it happened again while i was leaving a parking space. When i got home i connected my code reader, there were no codes. It is now at my mechanic, but the problem has not happened for them yet.

The car accelerates when i press on the brake. I have complained to the dealer about this is october 2018 and today april 2019. This is a pre-accident complaint. When i drive in stop and go traffic it feels like the abs brake motor is trying to make the car go faster instead of stopping the car.

The light on my dashboard, indicating air bag problem, is on. Is my van under recall?For air bag problems

When i press the brakes the car accelerates. I have had a data recorder attached when this happened, but the dealer says that it didn't record anything.-- this happens intermittently---, while in slow traffic as i pump the brakes. Specifically : the rpm actually increased as the car made the abs grinding sound and increased the velocity of the car. I had to quickly put the car in neutral to get control of the vehicle. The dealer service agent states that they cannot guarantee that any repair will resolve the issue. They cannot guarantee that pressing the brake will not make the car stop; but they admit that pressing the brake could accelerate the velocity of the car. I have duplicated this issue to the dealer mechanic foreman at universal city nissan in california but he no longer works at this dealer.

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 nissan quest. While driving 10 mph, the power steering seized and the contact had to use extra strength to steer the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The contact mentioned that there was a leak from the power steering sensor. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 nissan quest. The contact discovered that the front section of the subframe was severely rusted. In addition, the fuel filler tube was rusted and caused fuel to leak from the vehicle while refueling. The cause of the failures was not determined. Jp motors nissan (3675 frontage rd, peru, il) and the manufacturer were notified of the failures, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 114,000. *pm*jb
