Classification: Reference: EC16-034E Date: NTB17-082E February 7, 2022 DTC P0456 CAUSED BY EVAP LEAK AT VENT CONTROL VALVE O-RING This bulletin has been amended. See AMENDMENT HISTORY on the last page. Please discard previous versions of this bulletin. APPLIED VEHICLES: All 2008 and newer Nissan vehicles except LEAF and Titan XD with V8 diesel engine IF YOU CONFIRM The MIL is ON with DTC P0456 (EVAP VERY SML LEAK), AND DTC P0456 is not caused by a loose fuel fill cap (refer to NTB13-097). An EVAP leak has been detected where the vent control valve mounts to the canister. The vent control valve O-ring seal is determined to be the cause. ACTION 1. Replace the vent control valve as an assembly. Refer to the applicable Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for the replacement procedure. NOTE: The vent control valve O-ring seal (O-ring) is no longer available as a service part. IMPORTANT: The purpose of ACTION (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire PROCEDURE in the ESM as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair. Nissan Bulletins are intended for use by qualified technicians, not 'do-it-yourselfers'. Qualified technicians are properly trained individuals who have the equipment, tools, safety instruction, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. NOTE: If you believe that a described condition may apply to a particular vehicle, DO NOT assume that it does. See your Nissan dealer to determine if this applies to your vehicle. 1/2 AMENDMENT HISTORY PUBLISHED DATE REFERENCE July 21, 2017 NTB17-082 August 21, 2017 NTB17-082A APPLIED VEHICLES and CLAIMS INFORMATION revised January 29, 2019 NTB17-082B APPLIED VEHICLES revised NTB17-082C Sentra (B18) and Versa (N18) added to CLAIMS INFORMATION, and APPLIED VEHICLES updated to include current production models March 1, 2021 NTB17-082D Publication date updated to include the latest models and model years, ACTION revised, and SERVICE PROCEDURE, PARTS INFORMATION, and CLAIMS INFORMATION removed February 7, 2022 NTB17-082E Publication date updated to include the latest models and model years June 29, 2020 DESCRIPTION Original bulletin published 2/2 NTB17-082E
