• Recall 151845 [USA]: The lack of an image in the back-up camera display increases the risk of a crash.
  Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain 2018-2019 nissan altima, armada, frontier, kicks, leaf, maxima, murano, nv, nv200, pathfinder, rogue, rogue sport, sentra, titan, titan diesel, versa note and versa sedan vehicles, as well as infiniti q50, q60, qx30 and qx80 vehicles. Additionally included are 2019 nissan gt-r and taxi and infiniti qx50, qx60, q70, q70l vehicles. The back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted such that the rear view image is no longer visible and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 111, "rear visibility."
  nissan will notify owners in phases, having dealers update the back-up camera settings software, free of charge. The recall began november 11, 2019 and all affected vins should be activated. • Recall 138567 [USA]: If the vehicle stalls, it can increase the risk of a crash.
  Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain 2017 nissan nv200, sentra, nv3500 van, nv3500 bus, nv200 taxi, nv1500, nv2500 van, chevrolet city express, 2017-2018 frontier, versa note, and versa sedan vehicles that have a mechanical (physical) key ignition system. In these models, over time, the weight on the key ring and road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position to the accessory position, turning off the engine.

• Recall 126227 [USA]: If the component detaches during deployment, it may enter the passenger compartment and be a projectile within the vehicle cabin, increasing the risk of injury.
  Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain 2018 nissan versa note vehicles. During deployment of the side curtain air bag, a component of the air bag inflator may detach. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standards (fmvss) number 214, "side impact protection," and 226, "ejection mitigation."

• Recall 2019459 [Canada]: Visual system
  Issue: on certain vehicles, the rear view camera system does not return to the default setting when the transmission is shifted to reverse. This could cause a reduction in rear visibility if a driver had previously adjusted the camera display. Canadian regulations require that the rear view image returns to its original setting each time the camera is turned on. Safety risk: reduced rear visibility could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: the company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to update the software for the rear view camera.

• Recall 2018440 [Canada]: Electrical
  On certain vehicles equipped with a mechanical key ignition system, a spring in the ignition switch could wear and break. This may allow the ignition key to inadvertently move from the on position to the accessory (acc) position while driving, causing the engine to shut off and the airbag system to lose power. The resulting loss of motive power, and change in steering and brake forces could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Additionally, in the event of a crash, this may also cause the airbags not to function. Correction: dealers will inspect the lot number of the ignition switch, and replace it with a new one if it is affected. Note: until the correction is performed, owners are advised to remove all objects from the ignition key ring, such as additional keys, key chains, etc.

• Recall 2017662 [Canada]: Airbag
  On certain vehicles, the inflator diffuser installed in certain side curtain air bag modules may not have been manufactured correctly. If the vehicle were involved in a crash that warranted side curtain airbag deployment, this could potentially lead to the diffuser detaching. If the diffuser were to detach, it could become a projectile in the occupant compartment, which could result in the side curtain airbag to not fully inflate. Both of these conditions could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Correction: dealers will replace the side curtain air bag modules.

• Desiccated air bag inflator rupture investigation # EA21002

  From 2000 through 2017, takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("psan") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004l. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 2016 blomquist report at www.Nhtsa.Gov/sites/nhtsa.Gov/files/documents/expert_report-hrblomquist.Pdf.Consequently, all frontal inflators using propellant 2004 that do not contain a "desiccant" (a substance that traps and holds moisture) in us vehicles are under recall. These "non-desiccated" inflators either have been or are required to be replaced.In some cases, the remedy part for these recalled inflators was, or will be, an inflator using either propellant 2004 or 2004l that does contain a desiccant. None of these "desiccated" remedy parts (which were installed in older model year vehicles) are currently under recall for a degradation concern. Certain subsets of desiccated psan inflators using propellant 2004 for use as original equipment, however, have been recalled for a degradation concern. All takata inflators produced with propellant 2004l contain desiccant, and none of these desiccated inflators using propellant 2004l are under recall for a degradation concern. There have been no reported field ruptures in any non-recalled desiccated psan inflators.It is understood that desiccants fully saturate at some threshold, at which point any additional moisture will not be captured. This means the degradation process observed in non-desiccated inflators using propellant 2004 may also occur in non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004, assuming additional moisture enters the inflator and high temperature cycling occurs. Based on available information, desiccant saturation can occur within the first five years in the worst environments, and the time required for full saturation is affected by multiple factors. While no present safety risk has been identified, further work is needed to evaluate the future risk of non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004.Three entities -- takata (now known as tk global), the independent testing coalition, and exponent -- have been studying the long-term behavior of takata desiccated psan inflators using propellant 2004l (as well as 2004) in the presence of moisture and temperature cycling. The research efforts, which include development of predictive modeling techniques and field sample analysis, are ongoing. To date, none of the researchers have identified field evidence showing that propellant 2004l is undergoing a degradation process that leads to aggressive deployment and potential rupture. However, the time in service of such inflators remains short compared to that of the inflators using propellant 2004. Further study is needed to assess the long-term safety of desiccated inflators using propellant 2004l.The office of defects investigation is opening this investigation to examine whether a safety defect related to propellant degradation exists in non-recalled desiccated psan frontal inflators manufactured by takata. This investigation will require extensive information on takata production processes and surveys of inflators in the field. Lists of recall actions that may have used desiccated psan inflators as remedy parts, as well as the makes and models originally manufactured with them, is available with the downloadable version of this document (see nhtsa.Gov/recalls?Nhtsaid=ea21002 -- note this information is subject to change/revision as the investigation proceeds). The contact owns a 2018 nissan versa. The contact stated while the vehicle was is for an inspection, the vehicle was returned with a malfunctioning check engine warning light on the instrument panel. The vehicle was diagnosed but was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and the contact was awaiting a response. The failure mileage was approximately 74,723.

On may 29th, there was a really heavy down pour of rain. The next day when i got into my car, it was flooded. It rained for the next 3-4 days. I could hear water sloshing around inside the car frame. Water gushed into the passenger floor board from behind the dashboard. By the time i could vacuum the water out, it had soaked the entire front and back floors. The seats were absorbing water too, because they felt damp. I tried to start the car. It started but would not turn off. After i put it in drive and back in park, then i could turn off the car. I've had the car sitting and still water is draining out. The back floor board is filled with water again and mold is starting to form. When i contacted a nissan dealer repair shop, they said they had seen quite a few of these issues. They would have to remove the dashboard to repair the problem. This is dangerous. Water coming in behind the dashboard could cause a fire. The dealer repair shop also mentioned black mold forming, which is a health concern.

I was hit from the side. The collision was pretty bad, my car was totaled. It was the the front of the passengers seat. At the speed the crash happened, the force with which i was hit and the damage to the car i was unpleasantly surprised that the airbags did not deploy, they could have prevented injury. My car was in forward motion on a highway, i was hit by a turning car.

Driving on highway at least 3 different times. When exiting highway car slowing down. When getting to intersection brakes applied. Pulsating felt on brake pedal. Loud thumping noise heard from left front of car. Took cad still under warranty to dealer service. Dealer test drove car stated they heard or felt nothing so theres nothing wrong with it.

The vehicle will stop at any given moment. The vehicle stopped while almost entering the highway. Then when turned off and tried turning back on the engine wouldn't turn over. The problem auto repair shop is saying that there is no communication with the engine.

Airbag light light came on. Toke it to get checked the first time was told old codes came up but everything look good that if the light came back on i would have to take to a nissan dealership. One hour later light came on again. Took to a nissan dealership and was told it showed old codes and wires were crinkled. They fixed them and everything was fine for two weeks. Light came back on. Toke it back to them. They checked it again same old codes came up again and was told it was suggested by nissan that i needed airbag module but they didn't know if that would actually fix the problem but that was the first thing they had to do and it would cost a little over 1300 dollars. I don't feel i should fork out that kind of money for them to guess. Also know there is a recall on the airbags but was told not my car.
