• Recall 237552 [USA]: A rearview camera that does not properly display an image can reduce the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain 2019-2021 altima and 2020-2021 sentra vehicles. Damage to the camera harness can cause distortion or loss of the rearview camera display image. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 111, "rear visibility."
  dealers will inspect the rearview camera and harness for damage and replace them as necessary. If no damage is found, the dealer will apply protective tape and reroute the rearview camera harness. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed october 19, 2023. Owners may contact nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669.   Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain 2020-2021 nissan altima vehicles. The tie rod ball joint fastener was not tightened properly, which could result in the tie rod ball joint detaching from the steering knuckle.

• Recall 2021140 [Canada]: Tires
  Issue: certain vehicles were built with tires that may have been cured too long. As a result, the sidewall could crack or the tread and belts could separate. This could lead to a sudden loss of air pressure and could cause a tire failure. Note: this recall only affects certain continental tires, with specific date codes and mold numbers. Safety risk: a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: nissan will notify the owners by mail and instruct them to take the vehicle to a dealer to inspect and replace the tires, if necessary.

• Recall 2021117 [Canada]: Steering
  Issue: on certain vehicles, the steering tie rod nut may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the tie rod could become loose and separate from the steering knuckle. This could result in a loss of steering control. Safety risk: a loss of steering control could create a risk of a crash. Corrective actions: nissan will notify owners by mail and instruct you take your vehicle to a dealer to re-tighten the nut on the left and right steering tie rods. If the nut is missing, a new nut and washer will be installed.

• Complete loss of motive power due to engine failure investigation # PE23023

  The office of defects investigation (odi) has identified six (6) vehicle owner questionnaires (voq) and multiple field reports (fr) alleging engine failure, loss of motive power, engine knock or noise and/or metal chunks and shavings found in the oil pan of nissan north america inc. (nissan) vehicles equipped with both the kr15ddt and kr20ddet engines.  the only model nissan has manufactured with a kr15ddt engine is the rogue.  nissan manufactured 3 models equipped with the kr20ddet engine.  these models include the altima, qx50, and qx55.  both the 3-cylinder, 1.5-liter kr15ddt, and 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter kr20ddet engines are unique in that they use a variable compression ratio that allows for high power output and high fuel efficiency at the same time. Based on an analysis of the voq and fr data, odi has identified three (3) vehicle models with elevated variable compression engine failure rates.  these includes 2021-2023 nissan rogue equipped with kr15ddt engine; 2019-2021 nissan altima; and 2019-2021 infinity qx50, both equipped with the kr20ddet engine.  during discussions with nissan, odi learned that they have attempted to address main bearing and l-link damage/seizures on the kr15ddt and kr20ddet engines by introducing multiple manufacturing processes changes over time. A preliminary evaluation has been opened to assess the scope, frequency, and consequences of these variable compression engines.  additionally, odi may expand the scope of the subject population during the investigation, if needed.   Nhtsa is opening this audit query to investigate whether the hertz corporation (hertz) has complied with the requirements of the national traffic and motor vehicle safety act (safety act). The safety act requires, among other things, that a rental company shall not rent a vehicle subject to a safety recall unless the recall remedy has been performed. 49 u.S.C. ? 30120(i).Nhtsa is in receipt of information that indicates hertz rented vehicles to customers without having performed required recall repairs. Accordingly, we are opening this audit query to seek additional information concerning this issue.

Parked the car for roughly 10 minutes. Came back and started car with all lights on dash illuminated. Hard to drive, hard to steer and could not tell how fast vehicle was moving as speedometer didn't work. This has happened before, had it taken to nissan dealer. Advised that they couldn't duplicate the lights issues after it sat for 3 days before "resetting" itself.

I turned on my car periodically and saw an alert on the dashboard.I called the manager of continental nissan where i leased the car. He told me it had to do with the rear sensors and advised me to wipe them, which i did. However, when i backed up my car today the rear sensors did not go off when i got very close to my neighbor's garage door. I have a case #43362334. The nissan representative told me that i would be responsible for any repairs to the rear sensors, which is preposterous. I did not drive the vehicle for over a year.Moreover, there are recalls on 2020/2021 altimas. Nissan is putting me at danger of a rear end collision/damage.

The tire defects were reported back to the company and were indicated as no fault to manufacture. Since i've complained of a recall that has been in the model vehicle but a different year. My visibility is obstructed due to all windows retaining dew and moisture causing fog to appear in all windows. It happens while driving early morning & at dawn during temperature changes. The defrost doesn't clear the windows. During rainy weather the car is completely disabled due the obstruction in vision from the thickly fogged windows. I had it checked by the service department and was told it was like that because the window was dirty. I don't feel like service has thoroughly inspected the vehicle. I'm concerned for the safety of myself and my child and have stressed this to them numerous times. During each defect, the vehicle was in motion. Please help

The contact owns a 2020 nissan altima. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds there was an abnormal clicking noise while turning left and right. There were no warning indicator lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000. The contact stated the failure was similar to nhtsa campaign number 21v138000 (steering).
