  Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain 2016-2017 nissan rogue vehicles. The recliner joints on the lower seat frame for the rear seats may have improper welds. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standards (fmvss) number 207, "seating systems," and 210, "seat belt assembly anchorages."

• Recall 119669 [USA]: If the passenger frontal air bag does not deploy as intended in the event of a crash, the passenger is at an increased risk of injury.
  Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 nissan maxima, 2013-2016 nissan altima, nv200, leaf, sentra, and pathfinder, 2014-2016 nissan nv200 taxi, infiniti qx60, qx60 hybrid, and q50 hybrid, 2014-2017 nissan rogue and infiniti q50, 2015-2016 nissan murano, murano hybrid, and chevrolet city express, 2014-2015 nissan pathfinder hybrid, and 2013 infiniti jx35 vehicles. In these vehicles, the front seat passenger occupant classification system (ocs) may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. As a result, the passenger frontal air bag may be turned off and not deploy in the event of a crash.

• Recall 2019090 [Canada]: Brakes
  Issue: in certain driving situations, a metal structure like a railroad crossing or overhead sign could cause the automatic emergency braking system (aeb) to activate when it is not needed. If this happens, the system would provide a collision warning. If the driver takes no action, the vehicle could slow suddenly or come to a complete stop. Safety risk: if the aeb system activates with braking when no potential collision is present, it could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: the company will send a letter to owners to explain this issue. Owners will be informed that a software update is available for the aeb system. This update can be installed at a dealership at no charge to the owner.

  Certain vehicles may fail to conform to canada motor vehicle safety standard (cmvss) 207 - anchorage of seats and cmvss 210 – seat belt anchorages. The recliner joint on the lower seat frame assembly of the second and/or third row seats may contain inadequate welds. As a result, the seat frames may not meet certain performance requirements of the standards, which could increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant(s) in the event of a crash. Correction: dealers will inspect the seat frame barcode and replace the lower seat frame assembly with a new one if necessary.

  On certain vehicles, a defect in the occupant classification system could allow an adult sitting in the front passenger seat to be classified as a child or an “empty seat”. This would suppress the airbag, which could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Correction: for affected altima, maxima, murano, rogue and sentra vehicles, dealers will reprogram the airbag control unit and the occupant classification system control unit. For affected leaf, nv200, pathfinder, q50 and jx35/qx60 vehicles, dealers will replace the occupant classification system electronic control unit.

• False automatic emergency braking investigation # PE19010

  Nhtsa received a defect petition (dp19-001) from the center for auto safety (cas) on march 21, 2019 alleging that the automatic emergency braking (aeb) system on model year (my) 2017-2018 nissan rogue and rogue sport vehicles was engaging in cases where there was no obstruction in the path of the vehicle. The cas petition additionally alleges that, based on nissans actions, the manufacturer is aware of the issue due to issuing a technical service bulletin (tsb) launching two "quality actions," and initiating a "customer service initiative" in relation to it. Cas contends that nissans actions do not represent an adequate long-term solution to the problem, as the action is only available during the basic coverage period of the warranty. Cas also argues that the alleged failures are an unreasonable risk to safety and views nissans communications as not acknowledging the potential safety issue involved, instead treating the alleged problem as a performance update.The office of defects investigation (odi) analyzed vehicle owner questionnaire (voq) complaints received from consumers and identified a total of 129 unique subject vehicle reports (for all submission dates) alleging a false positive triggering of aeb. Of these complaints, three were identified that contained allegations of a collision resulting from the activation of the system, and all three indicating related injuries.In response to odis april 15, 2019 information request letter, nissan provided data indicating that it has received 750 unique subject vehicle complaints relating to false positive activation of the aeb system. Of these complaints, 12 were identified that contained allegations of a collision resulting from the activation of the system. Four complaints contained allegations of injuries, three of which were the result of a collision. These complaints included duplicates of complaints that odi received. The injury allegations were limited to soft tissue type injuries such as whiplash and bruising.Based on its review of the information identified to date, odi has granted the petition and is opening this preliminary evaluation in order to evaluate the cause, scope and frequency of aeb false positive activations, as well as to evaluate the suitability of the manufacturers campaign to address the concern or improve performance of the aeb system. The contact owns a 2017 nissan rogue. The contact stated while driving 55 mph, the sunroof exploded, and the sunroof glass shattered onto the shade guard. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road, where he checked the vehicle but could not determine the cause of the failure. The contact then drove to his destination. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. Neither the manufacturer nor the dealer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.

The contact owns a 2017 nissan rogue. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power without warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and diagnosed as an engine control module failure. The dealer notified the manufacturer of the failure, but the manufacturer wanted the dealer to perform a diagnostic test before approving the replacement of the engine control module. Cars only 4 years old and airbag light is on. Is there warranty for the airbags.

Driving out of a stopped position - after being stopped at a red light on an inclined hill - the car felt like it was stuck in the neutral position even though it was in drive. I pulled over to the side of the road, shifted the gear from drive to park and back to drive, drove back into traffic, and the car again felt like the transmission was in the neutral driving position. I pulled over a second time, put the car in park, turned the car off and then back on, put the car into drive, and the transmission shifted smoothly between gears.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Cvt valve caused a check engine light how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? If the trnasmission dies, then the car woudl not be operable. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Not to my knowledge were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Check engine light came on 6/18 and was brought to dealer the following monday who confirmed the dx.

The contact owns a 2017 nissan rogue sport. The contact stated that after the vehicle was repaired at the dealer for stalling and battery failure, the battery was replaced. The contact stated that recently the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration when the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle jerked when the brake pedal was depressed. The tire pressure warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was scheduled for an appointment with the dealer for a diagnostic testing which was still pending. The check engine light came on out of nowhere. Took it to the auto zone and nissan dealership. States the engine is over heating and needs a cooling compartment. However the cooling compartment is on national back order

My car randomly gets a check engine light. I go to the dealership and they stated my engine is over heating. They told me that i need a new cooling assembly fan. However the part is not available and my car has been in the dealership for a month now. This was a faulty car and i have never been in a accident.
