And ACTION 1. Confirm the AWD control unit part number, and replace it, if applicable. 2. Replace the electric controlled coupling for the rear final drive. 3. Perform Unit Characteristics Writing. IMPORTANT: The purpose of ACTION (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire SERVICE PROCEDURE as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair. Nissan Bulletins are intended for use by qualified technicians, not 'do-it-yourselfers'. Qualified technicians are properly trained individuals who have the equipment, tools, safety instruction, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. NOTE: If you believe that a described condition may apply to a particular vehicle, DO NOT assume that it does. See your Nissan dealer to determine if this applies to your vehicle. 1/4 SERVICE PROCEDURE NOTE: In some cases, electrically disconnecting the electric controlled coupling may not eliminate the vibration as described on page 1. In these cases, further confirm the incident by removing the rear propeller shaft and retest. If the vibration does not occur with the rear propeller shaft removed, the incident is confirmed. IMPORTANT: Tire size, brand or tread pattern mismatches can cause similar symptoms. To avoid tire related mismatch vibration, it is recommended that when tires need to be replaced, all tires are replaced at the same time with tires of the proper size, same brand and pattern. 1. 2. 3. To gain access to the AWD control unit, refer to the ESM: For Rogue and 2017 Rogue Sport, go to TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > DRIVELINE > TRANSFER: TY21C > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > AWD CONTROL UNIT. For 2018-2019 Rogue Sport, go to INSPECTION, REMOVAL, AND INSTALLATION > TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > DRIVELINE > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > AWD CONTROL UNIT. Read the part number on the AWD control unit. If the part number on the AWD control unit IS 41650-4BA3A (Rogue) or 41650-6MA1A (Rogue Sport), replace the AWD control unit and continue to step 3. If the part number on the AWD control unit IS NOT 41650-4BA3A (Rogue) or 41650-6MA1A (Rogue Sport), DO NOT replace the AWD control unit. Reinstall the interior trim and continue to step 3. Replace the electric controlled coupling for the rear final drive. DO NOT replace the entire rear final drive assembly for this incident, if it should occur. DO NOT remove the rear final drive assembly for this procedure. The electric controlled coupling can be replaced with the rear final drive in the vehicle. Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for removal and installation information: For Rogue and 2017 Rogue Sport, go to TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE > DRIVELINE > REAR FINAL DRIVE: R145 > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > ELECTRIC CONTROLLED COUPLING.
