IF YOU CONFIRM
The MIL is ON with DTC P0181 (FTT SENSOR) and/or P0183 (FTT SEN/CIRCUIT) stored
in the ECM.
ACTION
1.
Remove the fuel pump assembly.
2.
Inspect the fuel pump assembly wiring, and reroute the wiring, if applicable.
3.
Reinstall the fuel pump assembly.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Remove the fuel pump assembly from the vehicle and place it in a clean working
area.

2.
To remove the fuel pump assembly, refer to the ESM: ENGINE > FUEL SYSTEM
> REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > FUEL LEVEL SENSOR UNIT > FUEL
FILTER AND FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY.
Inspect the routing of the yellow wires
on the fuel pump assembly. The
yellow and black wires should be
routed the same way and retained at
the top by the plastic wire retainer as
shown in Figure 1.

If the wires are routed correctly,
continue to step 3.

If the wires are not routed
correctly, as shown in Figure 2,
route them as shown in Figure 1.

Reassemble the vehicle in the reverse
order of removal. Use a new fuel
pump seal when reinstalling the fuel
pump into the fuel tank.
