• Recall 92912 [USA]: Vehicle stalling could increase the risk of a crash.
  Nissan is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 nissan quest vehicles, manufactured from july 29, 2010, through february 21, 2012. Due to software programming, while driving at slow speeds or idling on a decline with ? Tank fuel or less, there may be an insufficient supply of fuel to the engine. As a result, the engine may stall.
  nissan will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the fuel pump control module, free of charge. The safety recall began on april 2, 2012. Owners may contact nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

• Recall 2012083 [Canada]: Fuel supply
  On certain vehicles, when driving at low speeds or idling on a downward grade, with ¼ tank or less of fuel, an error in the fuel pump control program may restrict fuel supply to the engine, which could cause the engine to stall. Engine stalling would result in lost vehicle propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will reprogram the engine control module.

• Gwinnett place nissan / quest recall investigation # AQ12003

  Nhtsa opened audit query (aq) 12-003 to determine whether gwinnett place nissan of duluth, georgia complied with the requirements of the national traffic and motor vehicle safety act, 49 u.S.C. Chapter 301 (safety act) and its implementing regulations. The safety act requires, among other things, that a manufacturer notify its dealers of defects related to motor vehicle safety and noncompliances with federal motor vehicle safety standards and, in turn, that a dealer not sell a new vehicle subject to a recall unless the recall remedy has been performed. 49 u.S.C. § 30120(i). Nhtsa issued an information request (ir) to gwinnett place nissan on october 31, 2012. Gwinnett place nissan responded to this request on november 19, 2012. Nhtsa then issued an ir to nissan north america, inc. On march 11, 2013. Nissan north america, inc. Responded to this request on april 5, 2013.Nhtsas investigation indicated that gwinnett place nissan sold and delivered 28 recalled vehicles that did not have the recall remedy completed at the time the vehicles were delivered to the customers. Gwinnett place nissan did not contest this finding. Nhtsa therefore concluded that gwinnett place nissan was liable for civil penalties for violations of the safety act, pursuant to 49 u.S.C. § 30165. Under a settlement agreement dated november 24, 2014, gwinnett place nissan paid compromised civil penalties in the amount of $110,000.This aq is closed.

Tl* the contact own a 2011 nissan quest. The contact stated while the vehicle was stationary at a traffic light and attempting to make a left turn, the vehicle began to stall. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated she continued to drive the vehicle and 20 minutes later experienced the failure while driving uphill. The contact called nissan of salem (2755 mission st se, salem, or 97302, (503) 581-3849) and abc nissan (1300 e camelback rd, phoenix, az 85014, (602) 682-4468) and the dealers were made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 12v076000 (electrical system, fuel system, gasoline) however, the vin was not included. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 159,000.

Acceleration from a full stop is unreliable. The issue is most prominent when going up a slight incline and will continue until the vehicle is able to level off, when acceleration resumes to normal response. Even on level road surfaces, the acceleration is inconsistent once accelerator is pressed. This has been a consistent issue for well over a year.

The contact used the keyfob to deactivate the horn however, after approximately 15 minutes, the failure recurred. The contact disconnected the battery terminals to disable the horn function. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the driver's front tire experienced a blowout. The tire blowout caused the hood latch cable to detach. The vehicle was taken to a tire shop for the replacement of the tire. When driving down the road my van will start jerking like it's not getting enough fuel. I had it checked out and the mechanic could find nothing wrong with it. We drive around and it wouldn't act up. Since then, i've noticed it does when when using the windshield wipers.

Vehicle acceleration drops off when accelerating from a stop for the past couple months. Vehicle accelerates normally after a couple seconds of unresponsive acceleration. Dealership advised on service visits, they claim they can not duplicate the issue, but i can while leaving the dealership. *tr
