2014 NISSAN QUEST with 164000. miles

Upon accelerating from a stationary position at a stop sign, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The driver was turning right, and she was able to get the car to the shoulder where she turned off the vehicle. After restarting the vehicle, she was able to drive away with little noticeable problem. She states the car will often jerk into gear and sometimes will seem to jump in/out of gear while driving. The engine light came on, and the code reads "P0746".

While at a stop sign, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle seized and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (country hill motors, 6639 f frontage r, merriam, ks 66202, 913-362-7111) where failure code: P0746 (line solenoid performance) was found. The dealer stated that the transmission failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 101,000.

2014 NISSAN QUEST with 78000.0 miles

The vehicle stopped on the road with no fault indication. On a long high ambient temperature drive from nashville, tn to florida, we exited the expressway stopped at a traffic light made a right hand turn and after a brief acceleration all propulsion to the wheels was lost while the engine was still running. This happened at 12:30 am, the next morning went to the vehicle to see if it was heat related, and the vehicle would start to accelerate to a low speed and then engine torque would drop and vehicle would roll for a while and then accelerate. It would take 4- 6 seconds to accelerate up to 35 mph. Drove to the dealership that was a few miles away. At the dealership they found multiple diagnostic codes related to the transmission: P1700, P1778, P1740, P0868. P0746 they needed to replace the transmission to fix. Amongst all of this there was never a fault indication to the driver. The vehicle quits on the road with trouble codes in the control module and no indication to the driver to give a chance to service the transmission before catastrophic failure. Along with the lack of acceleration with no driver notification (was evident that the engine torque was backed off due to transmission dtc's).

2012 NISSAN ALTIMA

Three hours into my drive, i was going about 70 mph and noticed my car started to slow down and was making a noise. I pulled over, got out, checked my power steering fluid. It was fine so i drove off and as i was entering the freeway, i noticed the car wasn't picking up speed again. I drove to the next exit and got off. I literally coasted to a parking lot of an industrial building. After several attempts at trying to leave the parking lot, i noticed i couldn't go up the hill. I waited about 30 minutes, picked up speed and made it up the hill and onto a 2 lane road. I drove to a hotel about 4 miles away, going about 40 mph. I realized that as long as i didn't stop, i would be fine. The next morning i found a mechanic shop, called and drove there with minimal problems. He told me the year, make and model of my car had been having issues with the cvt transmission. He hooked a machine up and it gave him these codes: P0746, P0826, P1778 step motor, P0868. He told me to check for recalls. I was able to drive the car 3 hours back to my house in woodbridge.

I just paid my van off when i started having engine issues. At 120,000 codes read P1701 tcm wiring , P0746 pressure control solenoid , P1778 step motor , P0868 pressure control module .Is it the transmission the mechanic doesnt want to touch it just wants to change the tranny . I can not afford this. I am single mom is there not someone that can rebuild them properly ???? I bought a Nissan because i thought it would last longer. I have not driven the van in 6 months its a total loss if i spend the money and it happens again then i am putting good money after bad. It's not worth anything as a down payment if i have to tow it in. Has anyone got to the bottom of this??? How i found out is that i turned onto a busy street pushed the gas it wouldnt go. The car behind me had to drive upon the curve accident narrowly avoided. This sucks

Car hesitates shifting from 1st to 2nd. At times, there is a loud "clunking" sound when the gas is pressed hard. Then even when the gas is pressed all the way down, car would slowly shift. It takes about 10 to 20 seconds before it would shift normally. This gets worse when driving for about 10 minutes. Error code it returns include P1778 and P0746. Separate issue: the driver seat rocks back and forth when accelerating and stopping.

I found codes: P1700, P0868, P1778, P0746 and top motors who i bought the car from towed the car to fix it but has not told me what was wrong with the car. I have not heard from them and i missed one and a half day of work. They gave me a 6 month warranty but it should have been 2 year warranty. They said it will take at least a week to get it back to me. I have been without my car for 5 days. The car was on carfax website. I would like a 2 year warranty and half of the money back of what i paid for the car.

Just after i purchased the used vehicle from a private party, i was driving on the interstate at approximately 70 miles per hour, when the vehicle without warning slammed into second gear, sending my face into the steering wheel, while the cars travelling behind me had to brake to avoid collision. I pulled over, and turned the car off to assess the reason, to no avail. When i re-started the car and put it in gear, it drove fine until the next time i drove it. Then it did a repeat of the previous action, sending the transmission into safe made without any notice or provocation, and again, when i restarted the vehicle it drove perfectly normal while i drove it directly home. When i performed an obdii scan, it generated P0746 as the problem, with no other problems being reported. I am reporting this problem because the first time it happened, it could have have ended very badly had someone else been behind the wheel, such as a mother who may be distracted by her children at the time, and i feel this matter should be addressed before someone is killed on the highway. Prior experience has taught me that highway accidents seldom only happen to one vehicle at a time, and almost anyone that experiences this problem on a highway could cause serious injury to multiple cars and needs to be addressed.

Transmission goes into limp mode once vehicle reaches normal operating temperature. Codes are P1689 and P0746. When this happens the car will only function in 2nd gear and nothing else. This is very dangerous on interstates where the minimum speed limit can not be reached. Researching online, this is a known problem and the mechatronic needs to be replaced.

2005 HONDA ACCORD with 85000.0 miles

This incident is concerning my 2005 Honda Accord ex v6, vin (given above) . I am the first owner and car has 85000 miles on it. On 21st september 2014 automatic transmission failed without any warning while i was driving on freeway today. Check engine light never turned on .The car just stopped on a crowded interstate, which was very frightening. This vehicle has been properly maintained and i've never missed an oil change, timing belt, etc. I've never had any major problems with this car, no leaks, no engine issues and this leads me to believe there is some sort of defect with this automobile which needs to be recalled. My situation with the transmission is obviously not an isolated incident and Honda needs to step-up to the plate. The mechanic said that he has seen this same problem time and time again with Honda's especially with 2005 Accord v6 transmission failures. On further research on nhtsa website, i found nhtsa campaign id number : 11v395000 addressing similar problem and as of 23rd september 2014, 1.5 million (1512107) vehicles has been recalled for similar issue. The Honda recall number is r89 and the recall was placed on august 27th 2011, for Honda Accords 2005-2010 for the transmission. I took my car to, grossinger Honda, my local Honda dealer. The diagnosis was that the transmission had completely failed although fluid levels were normal. Dtc codes were P0741, P0746, and P0777. Honda opened a case and gave me a case no:n012014-09-22-02450. More than 1.5 million vehicles are affected from this recall and they tell me my car isn't one? I strongly feel that my case is genuine and with reference to nhtsa campaign id number : 11v395000, my vehicle should be considered for this recall by american Honda .

2005 HONDA ODYSSEY with 130000. miles

Our 2005 Honda Odyssey had a transmission failure on the way out of town from georgia to florida over the 4th of july weekend. On wednesday we just had an o2 sensor and recall work (master cylinder & one other issue) completed at a Honda dealer in georgia. I then took it down the street to get two new tires put on the vehicle at a tire service center. They checked the vehicle out for travel, gave us the green light and bam! By 6pm the following day the transmission solenoids were both reported failed: P0746 pressure control solenoid "a" performance/stuck off P0777 pressure control solenoid "b" stuck on P0741 torque converter clutch circuit performance/stuck off we hobbled into panama city, where i booked a car rental from the airport. The dealer immediately assessed the issues as a transmission failure. We have returned to atlanta on a 14 day car rental scrambling to find a new car. The quote for replacing the transmission is $3k. This is prohibitive on a 2005. Honda corporation refused a goodwill assistance request. Case number available upon request. At that point i will has spent $3.2k on the car, $400 in car rentals (in georgia while service was being performed, and florida to get home). My guess is if i don't fix the transmission there will be no trade-in value for the vehicle. It's got bumper, interior and fender damage, so there isn't much hope even if i do go forward with the replacement. Also, the alpharetta service center said the transmission fluid looked fine, and Honda in pc said it was burnt. There explanation was a part failure in the transmissions burned the fluid. It would have been nice to have an early warning of a catastrophic failure before a 330 mile road trip. updated 02/26/2015 *js
