At 1,200 miles i was going 70mph (cruise control "on") up a hill on rt 40 in tennessee and the transmission went into limp mode 2nd gear. Engine light came on. I drove the shoulder at 30mph and took an exit. Roadside assist towed it to helms Dodge. They pulled a "P0750" dtc code (solenoid a fault i think) but the transmission had reset and they couldn't make it go bad in 13 miles of driving. I asked them to check fluid level -- they said they would. They said if it happens again to turn it off for a few minutes and it may reset again. But, i made it home to ohio again without incident. Today, at 2,900 miles, it happened again! My wife had just driven it home from work and parked for 30 minutes (engine off). We went to go out to eat and 1000 feet from home (at 20 mph) it went into limp. But no engine light this time. I drove back into the driveway and let it sit (off) about 10 minutes. Then i tried it again and it shifted okay. I called the kings' chrysler/Dodge dealer service rep (rob) and he said i should have it towed in by roadside assistance. Which i just did... Bill's towing picked it up at 9:15 (11-7-07) to be continued....

2007 KIA SPECTRA with 124678. miles

I was driving on the interstate about 65 mph. All of sudden, the car lost all forward motion power. When i pressed the gas, the rpms increased, but the car did not get any power. The engine continued to run without problem. After stopping on the shoulder, i put the car in park and turned off the engine. After starting again, i put the car in drive, the forward power was working again and the car shifted fine. Transmission fluid was changed at 110,000 miles. Suspecting transmission, i took to a transmission specialist. I was given the following information: error code P0750 shift solenoid; error code P0755 shift solenoid b; error code P0760 shift solenoid c; error code P0765 shift solenoid d. Was given price quote to fix, but encouraged to contact Kia dealership about problem as they had seen this before on other similar Kia Spectras. Called dealership to inform them of problem. Left message, but never got a return call; and the one time i got a person, i was told that they would have someone from service call me back. Never heard from anyone. On may 16, 2015, the same thing happened, only this time turning the car off did not work and the check engine light came on. I was able to disconnect the battery and reconnect, then the car shifted again. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a recall? Before i spend $2000, i want to know if Kia is avoiding my calls because they know there is problem? Did internet search and have found similar complaints.

2006 KIA SPECTRA with 100.0 miles

Problem is the check engine light came on/off and on again. Fault codes were P0700 and P0748 as done at autozone. Some type of fault with the transaxle (P0700) or failed transaxle control module/failed linear solenoid valve/open or short cicuit condition in the linear solenoid control. While driving the car shutters hard car shifts fine when engine is cold. When engine warms up (after driving about 10 miles) while cruising in 4th gear, a lurch is felt from the drive train and the trans down shifts to 3rd gear. Shifting to neutral and back to drive doesn't help. The trans stays in 3rd gear. Shutting the car off and let it cool down and it is back to working normal again. Thinking about replacing the shift control module. Fix link.... 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE with 128000. miles

First off the transmission wasn't shifting right. I was like it was getting stuck in 2nd gear or something. The rpms were raising high before it was shifting. Then my check engine came on, took it in to get a the code read code was P0700 and P0562 and P0750 so we changed the battery, the throttle body and had the transmission fluid and filters changed. Still same problem. Check engine light is still on with the same code . Took it to a transmission shop they said it is the solenoid pack. Now i have read a lot of the Jeep chrysler forums and a whole lot of these Jeeps have had the same issue with the transmission. So i want to know how you can sell such an expensive vehicle with so many transmission issues. And why there has not been a recall on these transmissions. This is a big safety issue!! I think you need to fix or replace the transmissions in these Jeeps!! A recall should be done asap on these transmissions!!! I am extremely disappointed in chrysler, dodge and Jeep. I have not seen a recall as of yet on these transmissions. Yet there are so many people who have the same issues with these transmissions. I called chrysler and they said there were no recalls yet on this transmission. I expect a call or email about this concern asap. 2003 TOYOTA RAV4 with 188400. miles

On or about may 5, 2013 i noticed my car started to hard shift, though i was driving as usual. The problem happens off and on and is most noticeable when waiting at a stop sign, red light or drive thru at a restaurant. The shift jolt is most noticeable when needing to accelerate or shifting into drive--it doesn't happen when i go into reverse. The shift jolt sometimes is accompanied by a thud noise. On may 7, 2013 i contacted Toyota headquarters and discuss this with a customer service representative at 1-800-331-4331. She transferred me to a rude and cantankerous woman who seemed to have heard the story before. She stated i need to go to a dealership and get a diagnostic, which costs $100 in my area. She then stated that if any of the following codes appear: codes: P0750, P0753, P0755, P0758 or P0760 that i would need to replace ecm module first, if still problem the faulty module could've messed up the transmission. She conceded that Toyota issued a bulletin to the dealerships and apparently it is a widespread problem. At some point i received a Toyota internal case number. She said there was nothing she could do for me as i am not under warranty. I have 188,000+ miles on my car and apparently if it is not under 150,000 mile warranty. I take very good care of my car and it is not my fault the problem did not appear within a randomly selected mileage they chose. Toyota admitted they knew of the problem and they are liable for any manufacturer's defect of the ecm/transmission. I request your assistance in getting my car repaired for free as it is Toyota's faulty/defective part that is now causing my car problems. the consumer stated after getting the repairs done, Toyota refused to reimburse her for the repairs. They wouldn't even consider partial payment. Even though, a customer service representative initially told her she would need to get the repairs done and ten Toyota would reimburse her. 2002 Toyota Rav4, 4wd,at transmission jerking and hashing, reporting code P0750, P0755... I called Toyota dealer in portland, or and speak to master technician. I've been told by the master tech that Rav4 2001-02 and 2003 Rav4 needs a new updated ecm for about $800.00 + labor. He warned me that without replacing the new updated ecm, my Rav4 transmission will be damage and it could cost about $5,500.00 parts + labor. Toyota warranty only 8 yrs or 80k miles since this is their flaw software programming and why don't they do a recall campaign to eliminate the possible safety problem. Instead they only notify their service center of their dealership. Please help Rav4 owners....

2002 TOYOTA RAV4 with 115000. miles

I have a 2002 Toyota Rav4 with transmission/ecm problems. My issue is that there was a technical service bulletin sent out to all of Toyota service departments it is as follows: technical service bulletin is: tc002-06, revised march 3, 2006: "some 2001 ? 2003 model year Rav4 vehicles equipped with an automatic transaxle may exhibit a harsh shift condition and/or m.I.L. ?On? With dtc P0750, P0753, P0755, P0758, and/or P1760 stored. Improvements have been made to the engine control module (ecm) (sae term: powertrain control module/pcm) manufacturing process to reduce the possibility of this condition occurring. Use the following procedure to repair the vehicle" it goes on to say replace the ecm/ecu and possibly the transmission. My complaint is that Toyota did not notify any consumer about this issue and now that many of us are just now having a problem with this and after researching it learning that we are not alone and it is happening with many of the same model car- mainly the 2002. I have contacted Toyota corp. As well as the dealership where my car was purchased. I was told the cost to repair my car would be a costly $9,000.00. This is something that Toyota intentionally kept from consumers to avoid costly repairs to themselves. Had i been notified i would have had the ecu/ecm replace in 2006 while my car was still under warranty. There are 121 complaints to the national highway traffic safety administration. This just started with my car 3 weeks ago i was almost hit by another car because my car would not switch into gear once i reached about 20 mph and again at about 40 mph...The engine revved to about 6000 rpm's and just sat there if it were in neutral. I am very worried about the safety of driving this car. Toyota needs to own up to this problem and issue a recall. I am very upset and feel i was not dealt a fair hand with this car - Toyota would only repair this problem based on a customers specific complaint under 80k miles.

2001 TOYOTA RAV4 with 128000. miles

Toyota Rav4 2001 - computer problems & total transmission problem my Rav4, 2001 model initially started giving "check engine light" and having hard time accelerating from stop signal. The bbb approved service center checked it and found out the error code as P0750 and advised the replacement/rebuilding the transmission to fix the problem. They charged me approx $3000 for this transmission rebuild work/fixing the error code issue. Two days after, i got the same problem again and when i took it to the same service center, i was told that the computer system is the culprit for causing the problem. Now, based on the details available on the internet (http://www.Carcomplaints.Com/Toyota/Rav4/2002/transmission/main_computer_and_transmission_failure.Shtml), i understood that this is the common problem of Toyota Rav4 cars. When i spoke to Toyota customer service on 800-331-4331 (case # 1006150572), they said they are helpless. I am interested to file a complaint with carsafety to take this up with Toyota as to why this common problem of Rav4 is not being addressed/recalled, though there are customers facing serious safety problems with the car. The problem can even lead to accidents resulting in the loss of the lives. As an example, on freeway, while going at 60mph, the speed suddenly falls down to 30 or even 20mph and continues like that for few minutes before it goes automatically to higher speed. This failure occurs every 10-15 minutes if not earlier.. The whole transmission was rebuild (including the solenoids, geartrain components, torque converter etc), the computer was replaced with a total of approx $4500, though there were no deaths/injuries yet. This problem needs to be taken up seriously with Toyota and needs a quicker resolution. Thanks in advance.

2001 TOYOTA RAV4 with 117000. miles

I have a Toyota Rav4 2001 car. Its an auto transmission with 117,000 miles on it. Suddenly about 10 days ago i started feeling the harsh shifting / bucking / jerking while taking the car. I then went to a near by Toyota dealer for diagnostic test and what they have found was a fault code P0755 (harsh shift and/or m.I.L. ?On? Dtc P0750/P0753/P0755/P0758/P1760) which is basically recommending to replace the engine control module. I then searched about this fault code on the internet i ended up on a website (http://www.Carcomplaints.Com/Toyota/Rav4/2002/transmission/problems_shifting.Shtml) where i could see numerous similar complaints. It looks like Toyota has made a fault ecm and have installed in so many Rav4 (b/w 2001 - 2003 model year), which made so many customers like us to go through a lot of service expenses. Please do the needful so that Toyota makes a reimburse the expenses for all the customers who has gone through some financial burden due to this.

2001 Toyota Rav4 trouble code P0750. When consulting mechanics and Toyota dealership unable to help fix the problem efficiently. I was told replacing shift solenoid a might take care of the problem but then again unknowingly could be a ecm issue or even the whole transmission that needs to be replaced. Dealer should be able to solve this problem at the costumers best interest, with an importance of such magnitude expense is an issue that must be considered to guarantee satisfaction of outcome. Research shows this is a common issue of this vehicle with maker aware of the problem and still yet have not done enough to address it accordingly.

Rav4 do not shift gear. Some times it was like jerked shifting and i searched about this problem in internet and found several problem reported in carcomplaints.Com site. This is what happened to me. "i took car to a dealer - lombard Toyota, il, and told about gear shifting problem. At first they did not say anything about the known problem with Rav4. When i said, i researched about this problem in internet and found that Rav4 has a gear shifting problem and Toyota knows about it, and there is a tsr-tech service bulletin, and it needs to repair free. They told me let us take a look at. After half an hour, they told me i am lucky it is still under warranty 8yr/80000. I purchased this one on 2/??/2001. So i am luckily covered. I did a little argued that even if i am out of warranty, Toyota should take care of this problem because it is a defect. They did not care much. And i did not press on it. So here is the problem-according to Toyota service bulletin tc002-06 revised model 2001-2003 Rav4 equipped with automatic transaxle may exhibit a harsh shift and/or m.I.L "on" dtc P0750, P0753, P0755, P0758, and/or P1760. Improvements have been made to the engine control module (ecm) sae term - powertrain control module/pcm) manufacturing process to reduce the possibility of this condition occurring. Use the following procedure to repair the vehicle. They replace a r&r engine control module. My Rav4 drives good now. I still think my Rav4 is really not smooth. Or atleast that is the way i feel. This is it for right now. If anything comes up i will update later.
