The P0752 code means that the shift solenoid A is stuck on. This can be caused by a mechanical failure of the solenoid, or by a wiring problem.
If the solenoid is mechanically failed, it will need to be replaced. If the wiring is at fault, the wiring harness will need to be repaired or replaced.

Consumer Complaints for this DTC

2009 CHEVROLET EQUINOX with 110000. miles

The timing chain and guides went bad at only 110k miles. And if it was recalled like the 2009 chevy traverse was then i wouldn't have had to fix it. It has the same motor. It is the 3.6l motor. Because it is the sports model. It was throwing P0008 P0018 P0017 and two transmission codes so i believe the transmission is bad now. It is throwing codes P0752 and P0700.

2008 GMC ACADIA with 93548.0 miles

After a couple attempts to address service engine issues with local mechanic, the car continued to display codes and then would not consistently shift into 2 or 3rd gear. We took the car to a Gmc dealer and they found that the transmission control module needed replaced (code P0752) as did the shift solenoid. Check engine light was also related to stretched timing chains which were replaced since first issue required the engine be removed for repairs to be made. I noticed many complaints online for transmission issues and saw recalls for 2007 Acadia's but not 2008, in my opinion 2008 should also be included. Total bill $2,960 with two 10% discounts from dealer since they felt bad for me.

2008 SATURN VUE with 125844. miles

Was driving the car and it failed to shift from 1st gear (car kept moving but the rpms went way up). Check engine light came on and codes P0700, P0752 and P0989 were pulled from the car. Mechanic looked at the car and it had to be sent to a transmission shop. The transmission shop rebuilt the transmission which included a failed wave plate. The new wave plate is much more robust than the original one. Car was at 125,844 miles when work completed. Contacted gm about the special coverage this this transmission. The gm special coverage is for 10 years or 120,000 miles. Unfortunately our Saturn would not be covered reimbursed by gm even though the wave plate failure is a known problem by gm. Gm said that anything above 120,000 miles is considered normal wear and tear even though it is a known issue.

2007 SATURN OUTLOOK with 77245.0 miles

9/20/2010 - mileage - 77,245 - engine was straining; requested checkout by dealership, however, dealership could not duplicate the issue; dealership indicated a bulletin for hesitation in transmission, so they reprogrammed the transmission control module (tcm); repaired under owner's extended warranty. 06/02/2011 - mileage - 86,232 -- check engine light came on; transmission was not shifting gears properly; vehicle towed to dealership. Dealership indicated code P0776 was detected. Dealership found fluid was burnt and contaminated with metal; removed transmission and tear down; found 3/5/r wave plate broke and damaged several hard parts. Replaced reaction sun shell ad end cover. 3/5/r wave plate clutch housing; removed debris and replaced filter. Reassembled with new parts, reset taps, set toe flushed cooler lines; vehicle was repaired under owner's extended warranty. Dealer indicated repair would have been around $4,000 if costs were out-of-pocket. 09/04/2013 - mileage - 134,349 - check engine light came on; when taking off from stop light onto main road, engine jolted; transmission was not shifting properly into appropriate gears. Scheduled vehicle for appointment and had vehicle towed to dealership. Dealership indicated codes P0989, P0877, P0752, and P0700 were set on vehicle. In short, transmission control module issues. Cost of repair $1,250. Gm provided assistance of $450. Cost to owner is $800 for repair. Vehicle is currently at dealership being repaired as of 09/11/2013. Vehicle has lost power while driving causing vehicle to be unsafe. There are too many transmission issues on this vehicle for a recall not to have occurred. It is not "just" for the consumer to come out of pocket every two years to band-aid a faulty transmission design.

2007 GMC ACADIA with 67556.0 miles

The transmission on my Acadia has died. My wife went to pickup our son from a friend's house. The car drove fine on the way over. When they got back in the car, to leave, the car would not go into gear. She could move the shift lever into reverse but the car wouldn't go. The engine would just rev. She turned the car off to go ask for help. When she started it again, it would go into gear but the check engine light was on and it didn't sound right. When trying to drive the car, it would slip in and out of gear and had a whining sound. When reading the codes, i found the following: P0700 powertrain - transmission control system, P0752 shift solenoid "a" stuck on, & P0797 pressure control solenoid "c" stuck on. I haven't had it checked by a mechanic yet so i don't know the real problem. The tow truck is taking it to the shop tomorrow. I'll have to update once i get the diagnosis. 67k miles seems a little premature to be losing the transmission. *ln updated 1/10/2014 *js
POWER TRAIN,

2002 MAZDA MPV with 57900.0 miles

While driving on the freeway, the transmission began to not transfer power when automatically shifting out of overdrive when the accelerator was pressed. After getting off the freeway and coming through a busy intersection, the transmission failed completely (zero power transfer) nearly causing an accident in the intersection as the vehicle coasted to a stop. The "check engine light" did not illuminate until after the transmission had completely failed. The vehicle had only 57k miles on the odometer and all service had been done by the dealer up to that point. The vehicle was brought to the Mazda dealer and diagnosed as total transmission failure. The fault code was P0752, shift solenoid circuit stuck on. Despite the vehicle being past the 3 year/50k mile warranty period, Mazda offered to replace the transmission with a factory rebuilt unit. We were responsible for the labor costs and split those costs with the local dealer. Judging by the already large number of similar complaints registered on the nhtsa site, this is a known, common problem with these vehicles and an investigation into this transmission defect should be started.
