  Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain 2014-2015 nissan pathfinder hybrid, 2015-2016 murano hybrid, and 2014-2017 infiniti qx60 hybrid vehicles. The hybrid powertrain control module (hpcm) software may shut down the hybrid system and the engine under certain conditions, causing a loss of drive power.

  Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain 2015-2018 nissan murano, 2016-2018 nissan maxima, and 2017-2019 nissan pathfinder and infiniti qx60 vehicles. These vehicles were previously recalled and unrepaired, or inspected and determined to not need a repair, under recall number 18v-601. In addition, this recall expands the previous population. The anti-lock brake system (abs) actuator pumps may allow brake fluid to leak onto an internal circuit board.
  nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the abs actuator, free of charge. (nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 nissan maxima vehicles manufactured february 10, 2015, to august 19, 2016 and equipped with intelligent cruise control, 2015-2017 murano vehicles manufactured august 22, 2014, to august 19, 2016 and equipped with intelligent cruise control, and 2015-2016 murano hybrid vehicles manufactured august 22, 2014, to july 19, 2016. The affected vehicles have anti-lock brake (abs) actuator pumps that may allow brake fluid to leak onto an internal electrical circuit board.

• Recall 119661 [USA]: If the passenger frontal air bag does not deploy as intended in the event of a crash, the passenger is at an increased risk of injury.
  Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 nissan maxima, 2013-2016 nissan altima, nv200, leaf, sentra, and pathfinder, 2014-2016 nissan nv200 taxi, infiniti qx60, qx60 hybrid, and q50 hybrid, 2014-2017 nissan rogue and infiniti q50, 2015-2016 nissan murano, murano hybrid, and chevrolet city express, 2014-2015 nissan pathfinder hybrid, and 2013 infiniti jx35 vehicles. In these vehicles, the front seat passenger occupant classification system (ocs) may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. As a result, the passenger frontal air bag may be turned off and not deploy in the event of a crash.

(nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016 murano vehicles manufactured december 17, 2015, to february 11, 2016, and 2016 maxima vehicles manufactured november 25, 2015, to february 12, 2016 and equipped with an antilock braking system (abs) and vehicle dynamic control (vdc). The abs actuator may have a damaged o-ring that may result in a lack of brake fluid pressure.

  Issue: on certain vehicles, the antilock brake system (abs) actuator pump may leak brake fluid and malfunction. This would cause the abs warning lamp to turn on. If this problem is not fixed, damage to the abs actuator could result in a short circuit. Note: this is a replacement and expansion of transport canada recall 2018-486. All vehicles that did not have the abs actuator pump replaced under that recall require this repair. Safety risk: a short circuit could increase the risk of a fire, even while parked. Corrective actions: the company will notify owners by mail with an interim notice. A final repair is not yet available. If the abs warning light stays on for 10 seconds or longer, you should park your vehicle outdoors away from other vehicles or structures. You should also call nissan or infiniti roadside assistance to have your vehicle towed to a dealer for repair. A second notice will be sent to you once the final repair parts are available. This letter will advise you to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the abs actuator.

  On certain vehicles, the antilock brake system (abs) actuator pump may leak brake fluid onto an electronic circuit board, causing it to malfunction. This would cause the illumination of the abs warning lamp on the instrument panel. If the vehicle continues to be operated, damage to the abs module could lead to a fire, creating a risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will inspect and replace the abs actuator as necessary. Note: this replaces recall 2016-424. Vehicles repaired under that campaign require a second repair under this campaign.

  On certain vehicles, a defect in the occupant classification system could allow an adult sitting in the front passenger seat to be classified as a child or an “empty seat”. This would suppress the airbag, which could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Correction: for affected altima, maxima, murano, rogue and sentra vehicles, dealers will reprogram the airbag control unit and the occupant classification system control unit. For affected leaf, nv200, pathfinder, q50 and jx35/qx60 vehicles, dealers will replace the occupant classification system electronic control unit.

• Pedestrian alert sounds investigation # DP22005

  Nhtsa received a petition on or about july 18, 2022, requesting that federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the united states. The petition can be reviewed at nhtsa.Gov under odi number 11486072.Fmvss 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The standard applies to hybrid and electric vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 kg or less or are defined as low-speed vehicles. The standard became fully applicable to all such vehicles manufactured on or after march 1, 2021.The petitioner asserts that hybrid and electric vehicles to which the standard does not apply should be found to contain a safety defect. In support of the petition, the petitioner includes findings contained in a bill introduced in the house of representatives in 2009, the pedestrian safety enhancement act of 2009, h.R. 734, 111th cong. (2009). A related bill, the pedestrian safety enhancement act of 2010, became law in january 2011 (pub. L. 111-373). The petitioner requests that nhtsa require all electric and hybrid vehicles comply with fmvss 141, regardless of production date.The defect petition has been opened to evaluate the issue and determine whether to grant or deny the petition.The associated product list is not exhaustive and may contain vehicles that are equipped with pedestrian alert sounds.

Vehicle randomly quits running while driving. Once stopped, it will typically restart after being put in park and usual parking, stopping, end running operations are performed. There are no warning lights of any kind prior to engine stopping. There are no codes and check engine light has not come on. My daughters safety is of primary concern, as well as other motorists. This happens at speed randomly with no warning. I have searched online and find numerous reports of this on forums and the usual dealer response is it couldn't be replicated. It has occurred between 5-10 times over the past 6-12 months. No accidents yet, but it is not a question of 'if' it is a question of 'when'.

Failure of transfer case: while driving vehicle on street going at posted speed limit of 45 mph, suv made grinding noise when coming to a stop light. Upon start of acceleration noise heard again. At speed limit of 45 mph car suddenly felt as if wheels locked up and car would not move in drive. Shift to park, shifted back to drive and reverse, no movement of car in gear. Needed specialized dolly lift towing to dealership in area. Upon multiple inspections and deliberations with dealership maintenance department and nissan warranty representatives part deemed responsible was the transfer case. This was supposedly repaired when incidentally found at prior car inspection at usual dealer. Repair has now been deemed to be completed with used transfer case as a safe options. Concern remains on my mind for faulty part and repair. Concern for others traveling on road that car will come to immediate abrupt stop and accident possible. Luckily car behind me was able to avoid collision.

The electrical harness connector directly under the seat will fail and actually get so hot it will melt the plastic pieces! In fact, nissan has issued it's own 15 page service bulletin warning to its dealers on the fire danger (el18-035, reference ntb19-004, dated 17 january 2019). This bulletin graphically shows pictures of how the harness connector and the seat control unit will get so hot they will melt and fail. It also details how local dealers should replace the defective connector and even how they should charge nissan back for the repair (page 15 - primary part line claim). My 2016 nissan murano suffered the same drivers seat electrical failure recently. I visually verified the damaged (melted) connector under the seat and contacted my local nissan dealer (youngblood nissan, springfield mo.). I provided them the nissan alert information. The dealer is refusing to fix the known failure unless they are paid for the service work (estimated is over $300.00)! Given that this fire hazard covers four years worth of nissan murano production and the 2016-2019 titans, nissan should fix the defective parts for free. While in my case there was no actual fire or damage beyond the melted electrical parts and loss of the seat climate control feature..I have left the defective plug disconnected, still leaves me very concerned about they safety of myself and my family. I have attached images of both the internal nissan service bulletin and an image of my melted and defective electrical plug. Thank you.

As we were driving on a city street our 2016 nissan murano we could smell plastic melting or burning while having our driver seat heating system turned on. We turned off the heating system. Now, our driver seat heater does not turn on at all. We plan to take the vehicle to a nissan dealership to get it diagnosed, but after doing some research online, we could read that many others dealt with this issue previously. The electrical harness under the drivers seat gets too hot and begins to melt. It seems that this is a safety issue due to a failure of the eletrical harness.
