This bulletin supercedes TSB−10−13−011, issued November 2010 to add affected vehicles.
Changes are italicized and identified by A.
PURPOSE
Customers of some affected vehicles may report an illuminated MIL (“Service Engine Soon” light) with the
subject DTCs stored in ECM memory and/or reduced engine performance. When driving in a heavy
snowstorm, snow may be drawn into the air intake and accumulate on the air filter element. After the
engine is stopped, higher underhood temperatures can cause snow on the lower part of the element to
melt. The water accumulates at the bottom of the air cleaner body on both sides of the filter element.
When the engine is restarted, if the upper part of the element is still clogged with snow, intake air passes
through the lower section of the air cleaner element and water is drawn through the air flow sensor and
affects sensor readings. This causes the system to go into failsafe mode resulting in reduced engine
performance. This condition is not a malfunction but a temporary result of transient “noise” from the air
flow sensor. The system resumes normal operation once the air cleaner element dries.
NOTE: DTCs P1235 and P1240 apply to 2010 and earlier model years.
DTCs P061A and P0068 apply to 2011 and newer model years.

NOTE: TAKE CARE TO NOT DAMAGE AREAS OF THE SEAL THAT REMAIN.
6. Use an adhesive cleaner to remove residue from the cut area.
7. Reinstall the air cleaner body. Torque the bolt to 62 + 27 in/lbs. (7.0 + 3.0 Nm).
8. Reinstall the air cleaner cover and air filter element.
9. Using MUT−III, erase all DTCs.
10. Start the vehicle and confirm DTCs do not reset.
