The chassis numbers listed by VIN on this letter require repair by an authorized dealer. This repair can be performed at any time convenient for you (for example: during the next scheduled maintenance interval). Please contact a Kenworth dealership to schedule an appointment for this work. You can find the nearest Kenworth dealer at Dealer Locator on the website www.Kenworth.com. When contacting your selected Kenworth dealer, refer to campaign TIB 43-040 and the VIN listed on this letter. The repair will take approximately 1 hour and there will be no charge to you if completed within Standard Warranty (excludes Extended Warranty) or for repairs completed by 07/01/2015, whichever is greater. Chassis Affected 197 Kenworth model T370, T440, T660 and T800s manufactured between 9/12/2013 - 4/10/2014. Action Review the attached chassis list for your dealer code and schedule your customer(s) for service if their chassis is on the list. This campaign can be performed at any time convenient for the customer (for example: during next scheduled maintenance interval). Use the attached procedure. Review the DWWC or SIR for “Complete” next to the “43-40” campaign code prior to performing this repair. NOTE: Some chassis affected are so new that Kenworth may not have customers’ names and addresses registered. File a long claim for extraordinary circumstances (which must be explained). Qty. 1 Part Number S53-1271 Description PACCAR Vehicle Emissions Control Information Label Background The existing label contains an incorrect “Greenhouse Gas Family Name,” corresponding to a low-roof vehicle in the “Family Name” box. All vehicles on the chassis list are “high-roof” under the GHG regulation and the labels on these vehicles need to be replaced to indicate this. Procedure 1. Clean surface of existing label with a clean cloth or paper towel. 2. Make sure existing label surface is dry. 3. Install new GHG label directly on top of existing GHG label.
