SB-10059159-6535 GROUP NUMBER CAMPAIGN DATE Technical Service Bulletin SUBJECT: 15-01-023 MODEL(S) MAY 2015 VELOSTER (FS) FUEL FEED TUBE REPLA CEMENT (SERVICE CAMPAIGN 937) IMPORTANT *** Retail Vehicles Only *** Dealers must perform this Service Campaign whenever an affected vehicle is in the shop for any maintenance or repair. When a vehicle arrives at the Service Department, access Hyundai Motor America's "Warranty Vehicle Information" screen via WEBDCS to identify open Campaigns. Description: On certain 2013-14MY VELOSTER (FS) vehicles equipped with the 1.6L Turbo GDI engine, the “Check Engine Light” may illuminate with DTC P0087 (Fuel Rail/System Pressure – Too Low) stored in the ECM due to an internal restriction of the fuel feed tube. The vehicle may also exhibit one or more of the following conditions: Hesitation and/or slight reduction in power during acceleration Abnormal shifting and RPM flare during hard acceleration Follow the procedure outlined in this bulletin to replace the fuel feed tube assembly with a new campaign part. CAUTION Prior to starting the service procedure, refer to the Shop Manual to release the residual pressure in the fuel feed line: Engine Control/Fuel System Fuel Delivery System Repair procedure A This will help prevent fuel spray from the fuel feed tube during the disassembly. 1. Remove the engine cover (A). 2. Release the air cleaner cover clamps (B). B C 3. Release the air intake hose clamps (C). Open the clamp cover (E) of the fuel feed tube. E F 6. Put a clean workshop towel (F) under the fuel feed tube to absorb any dripping fuel during the next steps. NOTICE The red arrow on the right picture shows the location of the fuel feed tube holder (H) from the engine side (I) to the fuel tank side (K). J I 8. Release the fuel feed tube holder (H) to separate the fuel feed tube (I) on the engine room side. Separate the clamp (L) from the fuel feed tube holder (H). L H 11. Release the holder (H) clip and separate the fuel feed tube from the holder. Remove the rear seat cushion by loosening the cushion mounting bolts (M). Disconnect the quick-connector (O). O 16. Partially loosen the fuel tank band mounting nuts (P) on both sides, but do not remove the nuts completely. Tightening torque: 46Nm (34lb-ft) NOTICE P Do not remove the fuel tank band (P) mounting bolts completely. H 20. Remove the fuel feed tube (J) on the fuel tank side. 21. Install new fuel feed tube and then reinstall all the removed parts in the reverse order of removal. NOTICE Be sure to properly retighten the fuel tank band mounting nuts that were loosened in Step 16. J Tightening torque: 46Nm (34lb-ft) 22. Clear any stored related DTCs in the ECM using the GDS. 23. Clear any DTCs in the BlueLink system per instructions of TSB 12-BE-005-2. 24. Verify repair. TSB #: 15-01-023 Page 9 of 9 SUBJECT:
