APPLICABLE MODEL(S)NINS 2011-2014 Mazda2 DESCRIPTION Some vehicles may exhibit a creak/squeak type noise coming from the rear of the vehicle when driving over bumps. Noise may be caused by the rear shock absorber rod surface (A) sticking to the bump stopper (B) and/ or the bump stopper sticking to the mounting base (C) . .. , ' I I I l I I I I : '- ............ _: 2446a Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure . Lift vehicle per MS3 Online or Workshop ;Manual (sei:tion 'oo-oo JACKING POSITIONS, VEHICLE LIFT (2 SUPPORTS) AND SAFETY STAND (RIGID RACK) POSITIONS). . 3. Apply Mazda Silicone Brake Grease on the top surface of the bump stopper and on the rod surface of the rear shock absorber. (Both LH and RH) . a. Separate the bump stopper (B) from the mo.un,ting.case by pulling it down. -:. ~ .... ' 2446b b. Rotate the bump stopper (B) while lifting up until it makes contact with the mQunting ~ase.·. ·- NOTE: The installation requires less force and effort if the bump stopper is rotated and inserted tc;> the m<;>unting case simultaneously so that the grease can spread to the whole area where the bump stopper meets with the rod and /Or !he 'rnoi.JQting ·ca.Se. : . . . .. . : : 2446d d.
