Technical Service Bulletin SUBJECT: NUMBER 14-BD-002 BODY DATE MARCH 2014 MODEL(S) GENESIS SEDAN (BH) INTERMITIENT DOOR LOCK OPERATION Description: Certain Genesis Sedan (BH) vehicles may exhibit intermittent unlocking operation of the power door locks . If this condition is found , follow the inspection and repair procedure described below. Applicable Vehicles: 2009-2014MY Genesis Sedan (BH) vehicles. Warranty Information: Normal warranty applies. Circulate To : General Manager, Service Manager, Parts Manager, Warranty Manager, Service Advisors , Technicians , Body Shop Manager, Fleet Repair SUBJECT: INTERMITTENT DOOR LOCK OPERATION Inspection Procedure: Visually inspect the clearance between the door lock lever and the cap cove r. Doo r lock lever with proper clearance If the door lock lever has little or no clearance , or is jamming against the cap cover, proceed to the repair procedure described below. Service Procedure: 1. Using a flathead screwdriver, carefully pry the door handle cap cover off. Use care to avoid damaging the door panel. 2 . Loosen the screw located beneath the cap cover. Do not remove the screw. TSB #: 14-BD-002 Page 2 of 4 SUBJECT: INTERMITTENT DOOR LOCK OPERATl ON 3. Using a flathead screwdriver, carefully remove the armrest liner. Use care to avoid damaging the door panel. 4. Loosen the screw located under the armrest liner. Do not remove the screw. 5. To adjust the door lock lever clearance , push the door panel away from the door hinge in the direction shown. Use gloves when adjusting door panel to avoid tarnishing door panel trim. TSB # : 14-BD-002 Page 3 of 4 SUBJECT: INTERMITIENTDOOR LOCK OPERATION 6. Adjust the door panel until there is a gap of at least 1mm between the door lock lever and the cap cover. 7. Retighten the screws and install the door handle cap cover and armrest liner. 8. Operate the door locks to ensure the cap cover allows clearance for the lock lever to function properly. TSB # : 14-BD-002 Page 4 of 4
