Dealers must perform this Service Campaign on all affected vehicles prior to customer retail
delivery and whenever an affected vehicle is in the shop for any maintenance or repair.
When a vehicle arrives at the Service Department, access Hyundai Motor America's "Warranty
Vehicle Information" screen via WEBDCS to identify open Campaigns.
Description:
This bulletin provides information related to the TCU software update for certain 2017 Santa Fe
vehicles that may experience a transmission hesitation or shift shock when accelerating at slow
speeds.
Applicable Vehicles: Certain 2017 Santa Fe (NC) with 3.3L engine

NOTICE
You must initially perform GDS TCU Update in Auto Mode.
 If the TCU Update starts but then fails in Auto Mode, perform the update in Manual Mode
to recover.
 Refer to the General Instructions found in TSB: 15-GI-001 (GDS Mobile) and 15-GI-002
(PC GDS).

Service Procedure:
1. Check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes in the ABS/ESC and BCM menus and erase any DTC.
2. Erase the DTC in the BlueLink system according to TSB 12-BE-005-2.
3. Reset the automatic transmission adaptive
values using GDS, S/W Management menu
and Resetting Auto T/A Values. Follow the
prompts on the GDS.
4. Relearn the adaptive values using GDS, S/W
Management menu and AT Adaptation Mode.
