Date: November, 2016 To: All US Salt Belt State Mitsubishi Dealer Principals All US Salt Belt State Mitsubishi Dealership Service Managers All US Salt Belt State Mitsubishi Dealership Parts Managers Subject: Temporary investigation of Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Front Impact Sensors – Reminder / Update: Please mark sensors with the side (L/R) it was removed from Since August, Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) has been conducting a temporary investigation of Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) front impact sensors on the following vehicles: 2008 – 2015 MY Lancer (including RALLIART editions) 2009 – 2015 MY Lancer Sportback (including RALLIART editions) 2008 – 2015 MY Lancer Evolution This investigation is being conducted only in the Salt Belt States as defined below: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Washington D.C. Until further notice, if you diagnose a non-accident related failure of a SRS front impact sensor on one of the above vehicles – regardless of time and mileage – please replace the defective sensor(s) and submit a warranty claim with proper authorization (if needed) for the repair. Use the following labor operation for replacement of sensor(s): 5283SRSX 0.5 (per side) All replaced sensor(s) will be requested to be returned through the normal warranty parts return system to aid in our investigation. PLEASE MARK THE SENSOR INDICATING IF IT IS THE LEFT FRONT OR RIGHT FRONT SENSOR. MMNA will notify you when the investigation has been completed and there is no longer a need to collect parts.
