Situation: The Auto Stop/Start system may be inoperative.
Cause: This may be because the Auto Stop/Start system can only be robustly diagnosed using the Jaguar Land
Rover­approved diagnostic system, starting with the health check application which will indicate the cause of any
faults.
Action: Should a customer express concern, follow the Diagnostic Procedure outlined below.

NOTE: DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part
number with a quantity of zero.

NOTE: Normal Warranty procedures apply.
DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE:
1. The causal number will vary depending on the findings of the Diagnostic Procedure. Make sure the relevant
causal part number is claimed based on the test results.
NOTE: The Jaguar Land Rover­approved diagnostic tool must be loaded with DVD145.05 v.238 or
later.
2. Connect the Jaguar Land Rover­approved Midtronics battery power supply to the vehicle battery.
3. Turn ignition ON (engine not running).
4. Connect the Jaguar Land Rover­approved diagnostic tool to the vehicle and begin a new session.
5. Follow the on­screen prompts, allowing the diagnostic tool to read the VIN, identify the vehicle, and initiating
the data collect sequence.
The battery power supply must be disconnected from the vehicle battery.
6. Select 'Diagnosis' from the Session Type screen.
7. Select the 'Selected Symptoms' tab and then select:
Powertrain ­ Engine system ­ Starting system ­ Start­stop system ­ inoperative
8. Select 'continue'.
9. Select the 'Recommendations' tab and then select 'Run' to perform the 'Powertrain ­ Auto stop/start
system ­ Health check' option.
10. Follow all on­screen instructions.
11. When all tasks are complete, select the 'Session' tab and then select the 'Close Session' option.
12. Disconnect the diagnostic tool from the vehicle.
