Issue:
Vehicles fitted with 2.0GTDi engine.
Coolant pump leaks from weep chamber. (see attached picture)
Cause:
Corrosion inhibitors used, combined with the hot engine testing performed during production can lead to damage or premature
degradation of the coolant pumps internal rotational seal. This allows too much coolant to seep past the pump bearings, flooding the
weep chamber and eventually results in a visible leak.
Action
Replace water pump with latest level part from Microcat.
As the parts created for service stock are never subject to hot testing and are packaged using a different corrosion inhibitor they will not
exhibit the same fault.
Note
JLR engineering are currently investigating a rubust production fix. This Service fix is for the interim period.
