Dealers must perform this Service Campaign on all affected vehicles prior to customer retail
delivery and whenever an affected vehicle is in the shop for any maintenance or repair.
When a vehicle arrives at the service department, access Hyundai Motor America's "warranty
vehicle information" screen via WEBDCS to identify open campaigns.
Description: On certain 2017 Santa Fe (NC) vehicles, the PIC button on the front door outside
handle(s) may not work properly. This may lead to improper operation of the outside door handle(s).
This bulletin describes the procedure to replace the door handles with an improved part.

NOTE: Submit Claim on Campaign Claim Entry Screen.
SERVICE PROCEDURE:
The following service procedure is based on the front driver door. The procedure for front passenger
door is the same.
1.
Open the driver door and remove the black
cover (A) using a trim tool to access the
door handle base screw.
CAUTION
Use No-Mar trim tool to prevent damage to the
paint.

Loosen the bolt to remove the door handle.
Tightening torque: 7.8Nm – 10.8Nm
(0.8 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 7.9 lb-ft)
Note: Click wrench or Digital torque wrench
can be used.

To remove the outside handle (E), push in
the arrow direction.

Push the protruded base hook (G) towards
the base (H) to pull the link connector (F)
out using the long nose plier.

CAUTION
Ensure not to scratch the paint and apply protection
tape as necessary.
6.
Disconnect the outside handle connector (I)
by using the long nose plier and remove the
outside handle.
Install the new front outside handle.

7.
Reinstall all removed parts in reverse order
of removal.
Check the outside handle (J) appearance
and PIC button (K) operation.
Continue the above steps on the passenger
side door.
