DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Test-drive the vehicle to confirm if the clunk or rattle is coming from the front suspension. The noise may also sound
like it is coming from under the dash.
2. Check the torque of the two self-locking nuts located at the top of the front damper/spring assemblies using a 6mm
hex wrench, 17mm socket, strut nut adapter, and a torque wrench set to 44 N·m (32 ft-lb).
 If the nuts are properly torqued and do not move, this bulletin does not apply. Continue with normal
troubleshooting.
 If either nut is loose, go to step 3.
3. Remove the loose self-locking nut(s), install new a self-locking nut(s) and torque them to 44 N·m (32 ft-lb) using a
6mm hex wrench, 17mm socket, strut nut adapter, and a torque wrench.
