2015-2017 Touareg w/3.6l – Misfires on Cold Start – DTCS
P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306 May be
setting, Fuel Quality/Type Suspected

Review the GFF log and verify the misfires were set on cold start up ONLY. This will typically be at
ambient temps below 10°C (50°F). Determine what brand and octane rating of fuel the customer is using
and if they use continually utilize the same filling station. Note that 2015 and prior model years must use
91 octane and 2016-2017 use 87 octane, as a result of different calibration. Drain both sides of the Fuel
Tank (IT IS IMPERATIVE TO DRAIN BOTH SIDES OF THE TANK). Add fresh Fuel (minimum of ½ tank)
using Top Tier Fuel. Clear all DTC’s and road test 50 to 200 miles with multiple Cold start-ups. Please
advise the customer to utilize Top Tier Fuel of the correct Octane rating, per their owner’s manual.
