2019 ACURA RDX with 25400.0 miles

6 hours into a cross country drive, my wife went to pass a line of slower moving cars in a designated passing area on us45 in ms. As she push down on the accelerator at 55 mph, the car dropped into a lower gear as it accelerated to 60 mph, then bucked and when into limp home mode. The check engine light started flashing, with speed dropping rapidly towards 20 mph. She was able to get safely towards the side of the road, where she switched off the engine. A minute later, she restarted the engine. The check engine light was out, and the car responded as if nothing happened for the remaining 2 hour.Drive home. I was able to pull 4 codes from the obdii system: P0300, P0301, P0304, and C1555. The first three are for misfire of the ignition system, while the last is for an incompatible scan tool. The car had half a tank of 93 octane gas, temp was around 90 with high humidity. The car has 25000 miles. This could have resulted in a serious mishap if there had been someone behind her attempting to pass also. There are several reports of the same thing happening to other 2019 Acura Rdx's on this reporting site, as well as on an Acura Rdx forum. Someone at the nhtsa needs to get Acura to get on the ball and fix this issue before someone gets killed.

2018 FORD EDGE with 78000.0 miles

Had oil changed at dealership in dec 2020and advised of low coolant. Tech checked no leaks found. March 2021 check engine light came on code P0301, misfire in cyl 1. Had new spark plugs put in. Drove 500 miles, code came back. Swapped coil pack from cyl 1 and 2, drove another 450 miles code came back. Had injectors checked, all ok. Car started having a slow sluggish start to it. Noticed coolant was empty. Refilled, within a day empty. Took to shop and coolant in cylinders

2018 FORD EDGE with 32567.0 miles

My 2018 Ford Edge threw a code P0301. Which is a misfire in cylinder 1. Coolant leaking into block and started throwing a lot of white smoke out from the exhaust. Took the vehicle to the dealer and after their diagnostic and a few questions to me Ford is needing to replace the motor. The vehicle was difficult to start each morning and the hen the motor was off for a while. Eventually it would start. Other then the check engine light and the white smoke out the exhaust i noticed no performance loss.

Few days later light came back on went back to dealership then was told i needed the 4 fuel injectors $1300 to replace them. Did some research online to find that several people are having the same issue. While these lights are on there is no cruise control, lane assist or anything. Called Honda and there was no known issue. Dealership suggested maybe Honda will pay to fix issue... Well, of course no such luck.

2018 HONDA ACCORD with 2100.0 miles

The first night i took ownership of car, the engine light blinked and the car lost power, and became a brick. Had to turn car the off, start it, and began to function normally. Car showed 3 misfire codes on my scanner P0301, P0304, P0300. This happened several times, the dealership told me the first time nothing is wrong with the car. They checked the computer and it shows nothing happened. Reluctant to take the car i was, but lia brewster Honda was very forceful and took the loaner back. Not even two nights later the car did it twice in one drive cycle. Every time this happens in the rain. Lia brewster Honda has my car now for quite some time and no one can figure out what is wrong. I am upset that they told me my car was safe, i have a 9 month old daughter that is the world to me. I explained this and still was not taken into consideration. My car is still there, and no sign of being fixed. Only paid one payment on the car. They took my car due to the fact i video taped this happening. I feel the car is unsafe for my family, hope this isn't something that becomes a trend with 2018 Honda 2.0t. People's safety is a number one priority. Very upset i was told nothing wrong with my car, and was puts in an unsafe condition.

2018 HONDA CR-V with 4525.0 miles

When driving my vehicle on the highway, it shut down and the service engine light came on, it had lost all power and it had 4525 miles on it. I was on my way to take it up for a recall for a software update with a/c control unit replacement ; dtc P0300, P0301,P0302,P0303,P0304,or P0172. I had to call Honda road side assistance and my vehicle was hauled on a flat bed trailer to get the recall fixed. This recall also involved an oil change, of which they were making the customer responsible to pay for the filter, they would change the filter with the oil change, but not pay for the filter when changing the oil. There is also an oil disillusion problem with this vehicle as there is gas going into the oil causing a gas smell in the oil and thinning out the oil. Also there is a heating problem with this vehicle as there is no heat which comes out of the blowers, which where i live is very important to have for 6-9 months out of the year. I would rather not have air conditioning as i can roll down my window to get cooled off, but there is only one way i can get heat in my car and that is from running the engine and using the climate control in the car. In cold weather states when driving this car is not safe because when it shuts down and isn't drivable and the car isn't able to produce heat when you are stranded a person could freeze to death because of the cars inability to produce heat while stranded in the cold weather. My oil already smells of gas and i have driven it less than 700 miles since the oil change, that was performed with the recall. I am taking to Honda dealer again for an exam i was told, to check out spark plugs and x-ray them and also for another oil change, with 5219 miles on car now, so with less than 700 miles from last oil change i will now be getting another. 2017 FORD FUSION with 69000.0 miles

My 2017 Ford Fusion se is experiencing a P0301 engine code along with major coolant loss. The error code relates to an engine misfire in cylinder 1. There is also white smoke coming from the exhaust. The car was purchased in march of 2018 and has 69,000 mile on it. Upon starting the car idles very rough for about 10 seconds and then smooths out. The gas mileage has been very poor and i have been getting high engine temp alerts as well. I took the car to branFord Ford in branFord ct. They diagnosed the issue and told me there is coolant leaking into cylinder number 1 and the only way to correct the issue is to replace the engine. My car is out of warranty and the cost to replace is $5700.00!! This a 2 1/2 year old car that needs and engine replacement?!? I did a ton of research on this issue and found that there are other problems just like this, some in warranty and some not. Ford did have a recall on the 1.5 liter engine for the exact same issue. Apparently there is no current recall or warranty extension for this problem, so basically i am being told i am stuck with the bill. I am looking for assistance from Ford to replace this engine at no cost to me as this is a known issue among the consumers but there hasn't been "enough" documentation to warrant action by the manufacturer. Additional services; oil change, brake flush and cooling system were completed. 12/31/2019 ' check engine light came on and car rattles when i was driving on interstate highway doing around 55-60 miles per hour. 01/02/2020 - i took it to the dealership. This time, the service adviser said "a lot of Elantras are experiencing this issue and needs software update". They scanned and found code P030100 / misfire. Technician performed software update and all the cost was covered under engine warranty. 01/27/2020 ' check engine light came on and the car started shaking again. This time, the check engine light stayed on. They finally replaced spark-plugs and coil pack on cylinder 2. 03/20/2020 ' due to coronavirus pandemic, i've been working remotely so i haven't driven much. 04/18/2020 ' completed state inspection and emission. Service center performed multi-point inspection and found nothing wrong with the engine. 07/15/2020 - the car stalls again, the check engine light comes on and off. I stopped driving it and dropped it off at the dealership on 07/17/2020. 07/18/2020 - technician did a new software patch for the second time. Additional services: oil change, battery and front brakes replacement completed. I think this need to be investigated and deserve a full recall for all the 2017 Hyundai Elantra who are experiencing engine issues.

At 68,000 miles, my check engine light came on as i was leaving my neighborhood. Took the vehicle to the Ford dealership and was advised that coolant was leaking into the engine and the long block engine assembly will need to be replaced. Ids codes P0301 and P0316 - misfire in cylinder 1. I called Ford customer service (800-392-3673) but they are unwilling to assist since i am past the 60,000 mile warranty. This is a known issue and there is a technical service bulletin (#19-2346) out for the issue. The vehicle was still under warranty when the technical service bulletin was issued. It's unfortunate that Ford does not inform the consumer of the service bulletins. I am now faced with spending $6,000+ to replace the long block engine assembly.

In june 2020 the engine light came on. We called our local Ford dealership to make an appointment. They were not able to look at it for a few days, but was told it would be fine to drive. We needed the car to get to work and back so we took it in to have it checked with another reputable service provider. He informed us that we defiantly needed to take it to our local Ford dealership as the code it was throwing, P0301-P0304, was a major engine defect. He told us that there was a technical service bulletin on this vehicle and that the engine most likely would need to be replaced. We immediately called newberg Ford and made another appointment. We took it in and after a day in a half were told that it was indeed an engine defect and the engine would need to be replaced. We were also told that we should not drive this vehicle as it could fail while driving. Thank god we did not follow their first advice that it would be fine to drive! At first, they told us it was going to cost us over $8000 to repair. We were devastated. While we still owed several thousand dollars on the car, we really did not have that kind of money! We couldn't not fix it as it is a daily driver. Fortunately, the dealership came up with a lower cost to repair it, which was weird, but we were able to finance it to get the work done. Now we are not only making car payments but also payments on a loan that is almost half of what is owed on this car! This is not acceptable!!! We purchased this car with the confidence we have always had in Ford. Ford is very aware of this 'defect 'in this engine and is not willing to make any effort to recall it?? This was not anything we did to this vehicle; it is due to a manufacturing defect!!!!

2017 FORD EDGE with 73143.0 miles

2017 Ford Edge with the 2.0l engine failed at 73,143 miles due to coolant in the cylinders. Original code was a P0301 for miss in cylinder number one. Replaced plugs and coils with oe from dealer and problem persisted. Check engine light on and engine vibration occurred while running at idle. There was no smoke ever from the exhaust. Took the vehicle to the Ford dealer and they noted low coolant even though there was never an overheat issue, check engine light or code stored. Dealer referenced tsb 19-2346 and said engine would have to be replaced and since there was no recall Ford would assume zero cost. Still owing money on the car there was no other option other than replace the engine at a cost of $7000. Given what appears to be the frequency of this specific failure coupled with the wide range of miles when it occurs Ford should step up and at least partner with owners to help with the cost of engine replacement. This issue could cause the vehicle to stall which could lead to an accident or fatality depending upon when the engine stalled or went into limp mode.

Took to Hyundai dealership they said one of four coil packs was going out. The problem was intermittent and the light for the engine was not on. The dealership told me the engine light had to be on to diagnose the problem. Then i found out the agent coil packs had an older style and they wanted me to buy their newer style the part number is 27300 - 2e601. They wanted $700 to put in the newer style coil packs. This issue should be a recall since my car was only 3 years old when the problem started.

2017 Audi A3 sedan- with around 47,000 miles -stalled out in drive thru and at a red light intersection. Twice. Almost got in 2 accidents while driving once on the highway and once on a city road. Engine light on dash was blinking. Code reader initially was reading P0300, P0301 and P0302 .. Multiple cylinder misfires. Towed car to Audi, and they did complete maintenance service. Ran codes and now all of the sudden it need a new transmission and the code is P0172 bank 1 system too rich. I noticed there was a recall for the the engine control unit (ecu) software and which can affect air / fuel mixture which makes me think that this recall was probably the cause, because po172 code can be due to the air/ fuel mixture getting too far from factory specs. My car has been at the dealership for 6 weeks, the transmission was finally replaced by Audi but they are still saying that i need a new fuel canister (there was a recall for this in 2016, and my car was manufactured in 2016 but is a 2017 model) ? I have seen several other 2017 Audi A3 sedan owner complaints having this issue with very similar problem on this website and other websites. Cylinder 1 experienced cracking due to low speed pre-ignition (lspi, commonly referred to as “knock”) just after exiting the highway in a 70 mph zone and produced a malfunction indicator lamp (mil) code of P0301. As evidenced in attachment 1, this caused damage to the antilock braking system due to loss of vacuum on the system and possible fouling due to foreign object damage to the vehicle abs. Later assessment by trained mechanics determined the root cause was due to insufficient structural capability of engine pistons to withstand brief periods of lspi. As evidenced by attachment 18-na-171 and piP5490, the vehicle manufacturer (general motors) is aware of the insufficient design of the pistons, has re-designed them to withstand lspi, however has not made an effort to notify me or replace the existing part to prevent damage to the vehicle powertrain and abs. While this particular instance of piston cracking due to lspi has only had a financial impact on myself, loss of abs functionality and potential engine seizure at highway speeds have the potential to produce dangerous, if not fatal, conditions to other drivers with similar hardware.

At just over 70k miles, i get the dreaded "emissions system problem" when i start my car the other morning. I immediately take it to a Honda dealership for diagnosis and i am told i will need all 6 fuel injectors replaced. Interestingly enough, Honda's tsb 018-25 indicates the probable cause of this fuel injector issue as an issue that occurred during the manufacturing process, yet they have not been fully transparent about the issue, nor have they issued a recall. My vehicle is also returning the exact error code as indicated in the bulletin (P0301). The bulletin i am referring to (version 2) was released in april 2018. Had Honda been transparent and notified customers of this issue during this time frame, it seems as though many customers would have had the opportunity to have the injectors replaced, for free, during their 3 year/36k warranty. Well, now many of the Pilot owners are beyond this point and figuring the issue out the hard way and potentially having to foot a $1500-$2000 bill. Deceptive and deceitful behavior like this should not be tolerated. I have owned five Honda automobile/motorcycle products in my lifetime and this is the first issue i have ever encountered. The 2016 Pilot has severe quality issues. This is also a safety issue and should be a warranty repair without a doubt.

Took to the Ford dealer and was diagnosed as P0301 and P0316 cylinder 1 misfire. Pressure tested coolant system losing pressure. Tried to remove #1 sparkplug could not be removed. Diagnosed "most likely needs a long block because of spark threads and short block issues with these". Estimated cost $7000. The dealer filed a request with Ford for cost relief which, after a week, was denied. I called Ford customer relations and asked for help on escalating the issue and was told to have the dealer file an appeal which i have requested. Seems like a common problem with this engine given the complaints here and the comments from the dealer personnel.

At 78,000 miles my car had a check engine light come on upon starting the engine followed by a drop in power upon starting it. The check engine turned off on my way to the shop, and they were unable to determine why it came on and turned off. About 1 week later it came on again and i had it checked and it was determined that there was a 'cylinder 1 misfire' with a error code P0301. I had the spark plugs and ignition coils all replaced. The check engine light came on again about 2 weeks later after experiencing a drop in power upon starting the vehicle. And shortly turned off again. I then received a 'high coolant temperature' warning while driving, and made a stop to refill my coolant housing to the 'max' line. Not even 2 weeks later i received the same 'high coolant temperature' warning while traveling down the interstate followed by sudden emissions of white smoke out of the exhaust pipes. There was no 'check engine light' on during or after this incident. I pulled the vehicle over and shut the engine off, then had it towed to a trusted mechanic. He determined that the coolant may be leaking into the cylinder 1 causing it to misfire and eventually leading to a blown head gasket. This car was meticulously cared for and maintained and somehow has a blown head gasket before reaching 80,000 miles. The extent of the damage to the engine is still to be determined.

My check engine light came on when i started my car to go to work one morning. I got my code reader and plugged it in, it showed P0301 and P0304 ( generic code for misfire on cylinders 1 and 4). I figured i had bad spark plugs or ignition coils so i replaced them with all new parts. Drove the car for about two days and the check engine light returned again when starting my car. Plugged the code reader back in, same code readings. My car is still under an extended warranty plan so i took it to a repair shop. They ran a diagnostic test and found the same codes. After a couple of hours, they informed me that they were going to replace the fuel sensors because they believed that was the problem. They replaced the sensors and cleared the check engine light and i was on my way. A few days later the check engine light came back on when i started my car. I contacted the repair shop again and they told me to bring it back in. I dropped the car off to them for 5 days. When they called me back they said they were unable to determine the cause and i should take it to the dealership. Took the car to the dealership and they informed me that i need to replace the engine because i have a cracked cylinder that is leaking coolant into the engine. The warranty company is trying to deny my claim, stating that the engine overheated due to improper maintenance. I change my own oil and i change it well before the manufacturer's recommendation. I follow all the specifications and use premium products so i know that it is not from improper maintenance. After doing some research i found that this seems like a common problem among these engine types and i have even found a few websites where people are trying to start a class action lawsuit. This entire experience/process has been a giant headache. Hopefully there is a resolution in the near future.

I drove to Toyota arlington for tire rotation on 2/4/21 and the car was running fine. Odometer was 44091 miles. After leaving the dealership, i drove about a mile then the engine lost power. The car could only go about 5 mph. The car jerk up and down as if i drove on the rail road tracks. The check engine light, trac off and red steering wheel symbol lit up but not flashing. I went back to the dealer right away. I turned the car off, the attendant turned it back on. The check engine, track off and steering symbols were off. The code was not saved, so on 2/8/21 the independent shop could not duplicate the problem (44132 miles). On 2/12/21 the same symptoms came back at 44175 miles. This time the check engine light flashing, track off light and steering wheel symbols came on but not flashing. My wife turned the car off, waited for a few minutes then turned it on. The check engine light was off but the trac off light remained on. In the past, after i turned the car off and turned it on one click, the symbols were on, and when the ignition turned on, the symbols were off. This is a safety issue. The car also smell like a burning tire. We were driving about 35 mph on lane number 1 (next to yellow lines median) on a county 4 lanes highway. The car slowed down to about 5 mph, jerk up and down and the car vibrates and it happened twice in a week. The car is only 4.5 years old and only 44175 miles. The second independent shop read the code as P0301, misfired. He suggested to bring the car to the dealer for Toyota to fix it under powertrain warranty. No repair has been done yet.

I took it to the local Ford dealer ' penske Ford in la mesa, ca - for inspection. The service advisor had his team pressure test and boroscope the engine and found coolant residue in cylinder 1. He said that they checked for the fix to the issue and found a service bulletin about it (i found it on nhtsa website ' bulletin 20-2100), which directed them to replace the short-block - $7,000 ish dollars to fix. With just a small amount of research i discovered that this is a problem many Ford owners are having right now with this engine - 1.5l i4 f dohc 16v. There is even an exploratory class-action lawsuit being formulated around this engine issue (https://www.Newsom.Law/Ford-Fusion-overheating-lawsuit.Html), so it is a known problem. Service advisor said that pitting on the short block is the likely cause and that is why Ford has said to solve the problem, the short block needs to be replaced. Less than 5 years old, living in a mild climate, and the block is pitting. I contacted Ford through their online chat and through the phone and they were unable to assist me short of saying that there are no recalls issued for this obvious manufacturing defect, so there is no issue on their part. Just got this Ford vehicle a couple months ago and for some reason my car wouldn't start. I looked for loose wires, checked fuses, plugs etc. The only thing at this point i noticed was two cracked spark plugs, so i replaced all off them. After that the car started so i thought it was fixed. Closed the hood turned the car to off, then tried to start it again. It did not start. So i checked all the fluids and seen the antifreeze disappeared, i had previously filled it. I looked for any visible leaks, puddles, and checked for wet carpet and found nothing. I went and bought another large jug of antifreeze put it in and watched it all disappear before my eyes. I could not figure it out, but i got the car started and still continued to get massive error codes, white smoke, rough sound, etc. Then searched more and found it sounds like blown head gasket, i checked and the oil had a milky tint. This i then found was a recall for my vehicle, so i spoke with someone from Ford on march 20, 2021 and they said they needed to check if my local Ford dealership had the parts to get my car in or if they needed to order the parts. I was suppose to get a call back but have not heard anything. I have not been driving, i did use leak fix it seemed to stop the leak and clear the codes but my dash check engine light keeps flashing so i didn't want to cause further damage. Shut the car off and on and performed like normal.Took it the dealer to have checked out. They couldn't replicate the issue and says it was my k&n filter i had, which is false since i've had the filter for the last 20k miles on the car and another 30k on my 2012 Mazda 3.Let it go then the following did it again and but this time it happened twice in a row and the engine light stayed on.Got the code of P0301 which is a cylinder 1 misfire issue.Take it back again and they keep for almost 3 weeks. They finally got the car to do shut off. Replaced fuel injector with no luck.Ended up replacing the crank pulley and belts and say it's working. They also replaced the battery because they said it died and had a bad cell.Pick the car on a tuesday evening and sure friday morning did it again!! Already called Mazda customer support and got a case number set up. Dealer "says" Mazda wanted me to take a tech out to replicate problem, which they can, why they want me too, i have no clue. Sure enough the day i take it to the dealer, it did again on my way there. Tech scans the car, sees the same codes and prints them out. Couldn't get the car to shut off again, so i wait. The following week, call Mazda customer support and say the dealer said no codes were found, bullcrap!! Complained to the dealer service manager and he "says" that Mazda knows the problem, software related but no release date. I'm done and fed with Mazda and the dealer.

The misfire detection monitor, a software strategy built into the computer, is designed to detect an engine misfire. The computer can also normally identify the specific cylinder in which the misfire has occurred. A misfire is nothing more than a lack of combustion, which can be caused by poor fuel quality or metering, low compression, lack of spark or unmetered air entering the engine. There are other possible, less obvious causes as well, such as uncommanded exhaust gas recirculation (egr), flow. When the misfire monitor detects a misfire, it will trigger the check engine light with the specific cylinder number as the last digit in the p030x code. For instance cylinder 1 misfire is P0301, cylinder 2 is P0302 etc. In this case we have either multiple cylinders misfiring, or the computer simply can't determine the specific cylinder, and as such we are left with the P0300 in computer memory.

Exactly one year ago my van (72,000 miles) started misfiring / idling rough (code: P0301), i changed the coil and spark plug in cylinder 1. This did not correct the problem. A short time after the engine started making a loud ticking noise. I still had miles left on my warranty so took it for service. The dealer replaced both cam shafts, 12 rocker arms and 12 tappet-valve lash on the back side. This repaired the issue until a couple months later - the oil filter housing started leaking. Repaired that, another huge issue. Now as of yesterday, the van is showing (code: P0304) misfiring and idling rough. I now fear the same issue is brewing on the front side (cylinders 2,4,6).

A service bulletin and warranty extension for 2011 - 2013 Odyssey's was issued on january 20, 2015 regarding an issue with piston rings resulting in the fouling of spark plugs setting dtc's P0301 through P0304. Late in 2019 our Odyssey threw a P0302 code and started running very rough. After some diagnosing of the problem it was found that cylinder 2's spark plug was fouled; it was replaced and the problem went away. In march of 2020 the same issue occurred, the same spark plug was fouled again, replaced and the problem went away. A week later, code P0301 appeared and cylinder 1's spark plug was fouled. I took the van to the dealership and was told that this was a common problem with this year of Odyssey. After paying $2,686.36 for labor and parts by my Honda dealership to repair this issue i started doing some research and found the 13-081 bulletin stating that a warranty extension was issued for this very issue. I called Honda to ask why the dealership did not mention the warranty extension and to see what needed to be done to cover the repair bill, i was told that my vin number was not included in the warranty extension. I am not understanding how my very make and model was left out of the warranty extension when it obviously had the same issue that the service bulletin was issued for. Can you help?

The car has engine check light and traction lights are on. Mechanic diagnosed the codes to match a recall which my vin is excluded even thought i am facing the same exact issue. Piston misfiring and the engine can lock at any time causing an accident. Codes give to me by mechanic that said that Honda should address this issue: dtc - P0301 and P0304. Bulletin -13-082. Dtc 83-11 and dtc - 83-12. Dealership never mentioned this to me i had to go to independent mechanic. Info: https://static.Nhtsa.Gov/odi/tsbs/2013/sb-10053786-6271.Pdf summary: "the piston rings on certain cylinders may rotate and align which can lead to spark plug fouling. This can set dtcs P0301 through P0304 and cause the mil to come on" this issue came up two times. First the dealership asked me to service all car parts which i did to get the engine light fixed - cost me $1000. Then the second time the check engine light came on they told me they cleaned the pistons and i should be good. The third time i brought the car back to them all in about three weeks, they said oh... You need $3k to do this procedure which Honda recommends and then i lost it. I realized i was being played and i took it to independent mechanic which brought this to my attention. I have been trying to contact american Honda over the phone and they do not answer any calls. The number rings 3 times then plays some music and then ends the call. I also sent them an email which caused mr mario representing american Honda, to call me. I missed his call and i called him back multiple times but he is never in the office. Cel (3/5/18) : found out car has a misfire on cylinder 4 and ring on cylinder 4 is leaking (other service - got a suggestion to go Honda dealer to check) made an appointment at Honda dealer on 3/8/18 without cel. Tech said no code in pcm fi system. He said Honda code is different from any other shop, so they only follow what Honda's computer says.(my opinion is that what if they debug their software after lost settlement not to show code P0301 to P0304 and show little different code for customer's responsibility - what if all others say P0303 ; only Honda comes up with different code) tech said if i do not pay for it, he does not even look at it. He said he does not want to do anything on the engine which has 184,000 miles on it if Honda or i do not pay (it's 2013 Odyssey) he told me this for the oil leaking which every car burn a quart of oil every 1,000 mile, so i have to check oil level all the time. He said when i have another cel on, just come to Honda to check. (do not go any other shop or bring code from other shops - he is not going to agree on any other shop's code or comment) my worry is that if other shops say P0303 or P0304, and Honda says different code which make i pay for it. What's going to happen?

On april 4, 2019, when my vehicle reached approximately 104,000 miles, the car's engine light and vsa light came on while driving. The car idled roughly and would not accelerate. It limped all the way to the mechanic. The independent mechanic diagnosed the problem, identified by the problem code generated by the vehicle's computer as P0301: cylinder #1 misfire. The mechanic replaced all the spark plugs and the ignition coil for that cylinder. Two months later, with the odometer at approximately 107,000 miles, the car again malfunctioned, with a rough idle, engine and vsa light, and limping performance. The car was returned to the same independent mechanic, who told us the same problem code (P0301) was generated, indicating a misfire in the first cylinder. The mechanic removed and inspected the spark plug, which showed evidence of oil fouling. Only after the second repair did i find information that the manufacturer had extended the warranty for this specific defect pursuant to a class action settlement. I was never informed by Honda of the suit, settlement, or warranty extension. When i called the Honda dealer to ask them to fix my vehicle pursuant to the settlement's warranty extension, and noted by multiple service bulletins, the dealer declined and said they would not fix the problem until the car broke down for a third time. I called the manufacturer directly, and a representative there also declined to fix the car under the warranty extension, saying they would not do anything until the car broke down again, despite my documentation that the precise conditions for the warranty extension had been met: a problem code of P0301 and a spark plug with oil fouling. Given that this has happened twice within 3,000 miles, my car is not safe to drive, as i don't know when it will break down again due to a known and documented problem the manufacturer refuses to address.

I had the j02 recall performed on from february 8th-13th. 1200 miles after j02 recall car runs sluggish going up canyon. Stop car and engine is misfiring. Turn around and coast downhill in neutral until check engine light turns on then stop and park car for several hours. Called dealer and asked what i should do. Coast out of the canyon with the engine off. Turn engine on after several miles and no more problems. Drive home carefully. Next day throws several codes and running sluggish. Several days later codes are gone right before it goes to dealer. They can't diagnose if car has no active codes or symptoms. About a week later turn car on and car is making a knocking sound and has several pending codes. Carefully drive home. Codes didn't save. Finally able to take to dealer around june 25th while car is making the knocking noise but no codes and they think it's a lifter but not sure. I left the car and they say they can't replicate the issue. Literally the same day i pick the car up it is knocking and consistently does so for the next week as soon as the engine warms up. July 5 engine sounds like it's being hit by a hammer and throws P0011 cam timing advanced. Oil pressure is 5psi at idle and 40psi at 5000rpm. Have car towed to dealer because it probably wouldn't make the drive and they say it is piston slap without even opening the engine they determine it is not caused by the recall. At this point the engine is sitting in my garage with the timing cover, oil pan and one valve cover off and i don't know what to do with it. I can't afford to pay them to fix something that is happening to dozens of people after the recall. Codes thrown so far are P0011 P219A P0301 P000A P0420 knocking seems to be when oil warms up and oil pressure drops to about 30psi and below.

I received a letter dated november 2015 that there could be a defect in my throttle position sensor. The symptoms were that the car ran rough, reduced power, engine light, etc. As soon as i received this letter, and while my car was still under factory warranty, i took the car in to the dealer and they said there was nothing wrong with my vehicle. There was but i continued to drive. I then made several other calls to gm until finally the car began to really show sings of a malfunction. It is stalling while driving down the road. It lunges forward with great force nearly sending my daughter and i through a store front window. Then it just started stalling every couple feet. All of the symptoms pointed to the throttle position sensor. I went to auto zone and o'reilleys and they both came up with the same codes P0420 and P0301 which leads to the throttle position sensor but the dealership said if a specific code didn't come up, then it wouldn't be covered. Of course they said the code didn't come up and that i would owe them for the diagnostic plus they told me it was lunging forward because of the oil level. Now i'm not a mechanic nor a brain surgeon but i certainly do know that low oil levels will not cause a car to lunge forward. I asked the manager at ballas if he was "just going to let me walk out of there with a dangerous vehicle" and he said "there is nothing i can do". I've seen other complaints on line with the same problem. I paid $144 for them to do absolutely nothing to my car. If it were low on oil, why didn't they just add oil. No, they performed a whole oil change which i just had done less than a month ago. They kept saying "well, you didn't bring it here, you went somewhere else" so? Gm needs to recall this part and make their dealerships replace it no questions asked before someone gets killed.
