Pedal Position Sensor Disagreement btwn Sensors
DTC P1582, sometimes indicated as P158200 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a manufacturer-specific fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the engine idling stability causing pedal position sensor disagreement btwn sensors.

The engine check light came on and stayed on. The consumer took the vehicle for a smog check point test. The engine check light stayed on. The vehicle passed the emission test, but the examiner could not send the final approval to the motor vehicle department (dmv) until the defect was repaired. *ak the light had gone off, but came back on 6 months later.
