BACKGROUND
Under certain circumstances, the vehicle may experience driveability concerns, which may result in DTC's P0300
(Random Misfire Detected), P0301 (No. 1 Cylinder Misfire Detected), P0302 (No. 2 Cylinder Misfire Detected), P0303
(No. 3 Cylinder Misfire Detected), P0304 (No. 4 Cylinder Misfire Detected), or P0172 (Fuel System Too Rich) to set.
There are one of two updates that can be performed. Check the iN VIN status inquiry for applicability.

18-114: Product Update: 2017-18 CR-V Software Update with A/C Control Unit Replacement DTC P0300, P0301,
P0302, P0303, P0304, or P0172

CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION
Owners of affected vehicles will be sent a notification of this campaign.
Do an iN VIN status inquiry to make sure the vehicle is shown as eligible.
Some vehicles affected by this campaign may be in your new or used vehicle inventory. Repair these vehicles before
they are sold.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Reset the maintenance minder light and replace only the oil. Clear any DTC's and update the PGM-FI and TCU
software with the latest version. Reset the throttle position learned values and do the PCM idle learn procedure.

NOTE
Unnecessary or incorrect repairs resulting from a failure to update the i-HDS are not covered under warranty.

J2534 Software Information:

Before beginning the repair, make sure that both the i-HDS and J2534 software are updated as listed above.
Do only the update listed in this service bulletin.
You cannot apply the updates with the MVCI as a standalone tool. To update the software you must use the MVCI
or the DST-i interface in conjunction with the J2534 Rewrite PC application on the i-HDS.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Reset the maintenance minder light.
NOTE
The maintenance minder light may not reset after the update is complete, so reset the maintenance minder first.
2. Drain and refill the engine oil. Do not replace the oil filter.
3. Connect the i-HDS to the vehicle.
4. Update the PGM-FI and TCU software using the i-HDS.
5. Reset the throttle position learned values then do the PCM idle learn procedure. Refer to service information for
additional instructions.
