P0365

Camshaft Position Sensor "B" Circuit (Bank 1)

DTC P0365, sometimes indicated as P036500 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a generic fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the ignition system causing camshaft position sensor "b" circuit (bank 1).

The camshaft position sensor is responsible for sending signals to the engine's computer that indicate the position of the camshaft. If this sensor malfunctions, it can cause the engine to misfire, run rough, and lose power.
There are several possible causes of a P0365 DTC code, including a faulty camshaft position sensor, a wiring problem, or a problem with the engine's computer.
If you have a P0365 code, the first step is to check the condition of the camshaft position sensor. If the sensor is faulty, it will need to be replaced.
If the sensor is not the problem, check the wiring and connectors for any damage or corrosion. If the wiring is damaged, it will need to be repaired or replaced.
If the wiring is good and the computer is not the problem, the next step is to have the engine's computer scanned for any stored fault codes. If any codes are found, they will need to be diagnosed and repaired.

2019 FORD F-150

I am writing to notify Ford motor company, hereinafter referred to as “Ford” of the 2019 Ford F-150, king ranch edition, vin number [xxx] (the “vehicle’) recurring engine failure, hereinafter referred to as “manufacturer defect”. The manufacturer defect has continuously put my family in life-theatening situations. I purchased the vehicle from texas Ford sales ltd., dealer number P11422 on april 13, 2019. The vehicle was taken to autonation Ford of fort worth, hereinafter referred to as “autonation” to seek warranty repairs for the manufacturer defect. The vehicle has been in autonation and Ford’s care, custody, and control for more than 50 days relating directly to the manufacturer defect. This manufacturer defect is not isolated to this vehicle. This manufacturer defect has been known by the Ford leadership team. Evidenced by the technical service bulletin 19-2232, dated 7/23/2019. Titled (3.5l ecoboost – excessive oil consumption with or without dtc P0365/po369 – built on or before 1-april-2019). Ford has concealed the manufacturing defect in an attempt to limit the scope of the Ford motor company new vehicle limited warranty responsibilities as it pertains to the oil consumption defect. Ford has violated the magnuson-moss warranty act and texas consumer protection statutes. Ford has acted with negligence, willful misconduct, bad faith, and/or breach of express warranties. This manufacturing defect substantially impairs the use and market value of the vehicle. The manufacturing defect continues to create a serious safety hazard for my three babies, my wife, myself, and the public. Therefore, if Ford and/or autonation are unable to correct this manufacturing defect, i expect Ford to replace or repurchase the vehicle. If this matter is not satisfactorily resolved by 6/25/2021 and i have been indemnified for any and all losses, damages, costs, fees, expenses and/or liabilities arising out of, involving, and/or in dealing with, t parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identi

Check engine light comes on, vehicle has no power, can't accelerate. Shows codes P0340 P0365 U1428. This is the second time this has happened with this vehicle! I was on the freeway and the accelerator pedal is totally unresponsive. Holding it to the floor kept the speed steady until i was able to pull off the side of the road.

2016 FORD FOCUS with 29890.0 miles

Just filled my gas tank up then as i left the gas station got about 1 mile up the road then while sitting at a stoplight i turned the ac on and idle dipped, car felt like it was going to die(which it did) then as i tried to re-start, cel came on and car would not start. About 2 more times and it fired up along with a service engine soon message ... Luckily for me i was a block away from future Ford lincoln where i originally purchased the vehicle. 3 days later i got a call saying my vehicle was ready for pick up. I get there and they tell me that the reason was due to i had a aftermarket power wire routed over engine assembly causing electrical interference. So they disconnected what i payed a local professional audio shop $140 to install 2 days after i got the car. So, long story short, i get in the vehicle only to see that my fill up @ the gas station was gone... They used [xxx] near 3/4 of my tank of gas put over 100 miles on my car and i get 2 blocks away from the dealer and at the same light..... **** happens again!!!! Took it right back to the dealer. Just got my car back after 13 days in the shop and i couldn't be more pissed! 4th time i have gone to pick it up after hearing that they fixed the problem only to get in the car, drive it, and have it happen yet another time! They even tried to tell me it was my right front axle causing the problem this time around. ( i just had the left front axle replaced 2 months back at another dealer) throwing grease on a crank sensor causing my cel with dtc "P0106, P0236, P0340, P0344,P0365, P051B, P0532, P06A7, P08A9, P08B9" ...Bla bla bla... They don't know what the problem is but they keep wanting to tell me they found the problem! What a waist of both our time. Now the car is in my driveway, wont start, throwing about 8 to 12 codes and im waiting to hear from Ford customer care. 2015 JEEP COMPASS with 133132. miles

I purchased my 2015 Jeep Compass sport january of 2020. Summer of 2020 i had to replace my camshaft sensor and my crankshaft sensor becuase my car completely shut down while i was at work and would not start. This year january of 2021 i was driving home on the highway going 65 mph while it was snowing heavily and my cars check engine light and traction control light came on at the same time and slowed the power of my car in the middle of the highway. I got my car read and the code came back as P0365. I have had the cam shaft sensor replaced 3 times already this month and i'm still experiencing the same problem. Again on my home from work on the highway at night my cars check engine light and traction control light came on and slowed down my car. I took the back roads home as i did the first time this happened and noticed that when i drove my car would randomly accelerate on its on and hesitate to pick up speed one i had stopped or pressed my foot to the gas pedal.

2013 FORD F-150 with 85000.0 miles

Had to buy a new engine! The truck started running rough on the drive home from work on friday, april 6. On saturday morning, april 7, i took it to get gas. After filling my tank, the truck would not start back up. I had to have it towed from the gas station. Towed it to keller Ford, grand rapids, mi. Codes P0011, P0016, P0017, P0019, P0021, P0172, P0175, P0299, P0313, P0365, P0369, P0390, P0394, P0430 and P052C. The technician also performed a power balance test and a compression test, it was determined half the engine had zero compression and the other half had lowered compression. All of these results indicated the truck needed a full engine replacement. $7,650 for the new engine. A vehicle with 80,000 miles and only 5 years old should not need a new engine. A mechanic told us this is a problem and he replaces an engine on these Ford trucks at least a few times a month. We had the engine replaced at sulforce automotive, grandville, mi

2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU with 70000.0 miles

2008 chevy Malibu engine shut off in mid drive on city highway during high traffic. My wife and children were in the vehicle the check engine light has displayed and continue to code P0365/6. However the camshaft position sensors, the camshaft position actuators, the altenator and the battery have all been replaced. The issue has upset me due to the fact that it is in line with 2 known concerns and reports that have not been answered by chevy or gm. 1) discussion of battery cables being the cause of the problem (unanswered) 2) gm ignition switch recall feb 2014 (which seems to be very in line with this issue). I have taken the vehicle to the chevy dealership and ofcourse paid for a diagnostic to be told "could not duplicate". It is very concerning to me and hard to believe that this was the first time that these symptoms have been reported and no one knows what could be the source. I was able to find forums and reports on both the battery cables and the ignition switch failures. The ignition switch failure were supposedly only issues for specific vehicles however the symptoms within the recorded Malibu community are totally in line with the same from that recall. We now also have a problem with the ignition struggling to turnover. This is highly unsafe, financially burdening and stressful on the families who are currently dealing with these concerns with no answer or response in sight. Requesting assistance.
