Important: If the customer did not bring their vehicle in for this concern, DO NOT proceed with this
EI.
Some customers may comment that the malfunction indicator lamp is illuminated.
During diagnosis a technician may find DTC P0335, P0340, or P0365 set/stored.
GM Engineering is attempting to determine the root cause of the above condition. Engineering has a
need to gather information on vehicles PRIOR to repair that may exhibit this condition. As a result,
this information will be used to "root cause" the customer's concern and develop/validate a field fix.
Cause
Correction
If you encounter a vehicle with the above concern, complete the following steps:
Important: Do not disconnect the battery.
1.
Verify the state of charge with a multi-meter.
2.
Run the GR8 on the battery in car and report out results.
3.
Record the battery date code found engraved on the battery cover. (Code Example DD/MM/YY_x##)
4.
Check and verify DTCs.
5.
