equipped with a J08 engine
Note: Refer to the appropriate Vehicle Identification Number
in the warranty system to determine any vehicle recalls or
campaigns prior to performing this service bulletin.
OVERVIEW:
If a truck comes to the dealer for the MIL On (or was recently On)
and the Engine Control Unit (ECU) recorded one or more of the
P0300-series DTC’s (P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304,
P0305 and P0306), refer to the following steps:
1. Check for any vehicle campaigns/recalls. Are there any ECU
reprogramming campaigns/recalls in the warranty system related
to the truck?
•
Yes – Complete the recall.
•
No – Continue to Step 2.
2. Does this truck exhibit any performance concerns such as a
misfire, low power or engine noise symptoms?
•
Yes – Open a TechAssist Case and attach the DX report to the
case. Provide details of the concerns.
•
No – Erase all DTC’s and release the truck.
