Module (ECM:

Cause
This condition may be caused by an Internal lifter concern.
– The vehicle may have come in with a bent push rod that leads to a collapsed lifter or a
lifter that came apart.

If SI leads to a collapsed lifter and/or lifter that have come apart including a bent push rod,
it will be necessary to follow the replacement guideline below.
• If the vehicle has under 16,000 miles (25,750 km) and is within the breakpoint window,
it will be necessary to replace all lifters and guides on both banks.
• If the vehicle has over 16,000 miles (25,750 km) and is within the breakpoint window,
it will be necessary to replace all lifters and guides on the effected bank only. Do Not
replace both banks.
If the vehicle does not fall into the breakpoint window, please follow the latest version of
bulletin 19-NA-218.
