P0193

Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor A Circuit High Input

DTC P0193, sometimes indicated as P019300 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a generic fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the air/fuel mixture causing fuel rail pressure sensor a circuit high input.

A high input on the fuel rail pressure sensor A circuit could be caused by a number of things. One potential cause is a restriction in the fuel system, such as a kinked fuel line or a dirty fuel filter. A defective fuel pump or a clogged fuel injector could also cause a high input on the fuel rail pressure sensor A circuit.

  • P0193: Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor A Circuit High Input
  • P0193: Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit High
  • P0193: Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit High Input
  • P0193: Fuel rail pressure (FRP) sensor – high input
  • P0193 11: Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit High Voltage
  • P0193 5B: Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit High Voltage
  • P0193 00: Damage to the fuel pressure sensor in the injector rail - signal too high
  • P0193 00: Fuel rail pressure (FRP) sensor - high input

2019 HYUNDAI KONA with 4958.0 miles

When leaving home the vehicle had little acceleration and poor shifting. Took too much time merging into traffic. After contacting the local dealership the problem cleared up as it had done before. Drove to the local Hyundai dealership. Obdii code read P0193.

2010 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA with 91000.0 miles

Owned my 2010 vw Jetta sport wagon tdi 6sp man since new. It has always had an interment cough & sputter that would happen at any speed or condition, but was very infrequent an non-repeatable. Now however, starting at around 85,000 miles, the cough and stall has become more frequent, causes the glow plug indicator light to flash and the vehicle loses power (goes into limp mode?). This used to all reset when turning off the key. The last time i brought it to the dealer, parr imports in bremerton wa, at 89,802 miles it had P0322 & P0651 fault codes. They suspected an intermittent crank sensor fault and wanted me to monitor. It has progressively gotten much worse, i have now lost power in heavy traffic and stalled in the parking lot pulling onto the road and have had to switch vehicles when it would not reset leaving the house. I was compelled to buy the torque application for my android phone to view and reset fault codes. I have not reset the ecu faults at least 4 maybe 6 times and now, at around 92,000 miles, it shows 5 codes and won't reset: P0322: ignition/distributor engine speed input circuit no signal, P2127: throttle/pedal position sensor/switch e circuit low input, P0193: fuel rail pressure sensor circuit high input, P0651: unknown code - more information may be available on the web, P0300: random/multiple cylinder misfire detected. My internet research suggest the high pressure fuel pump (hpfp) may be an issue with vw blaming it on gasoline contamination, however i have records and receipts confirming i always fuel with diesel from a major distributor.

2005 FORD ESCAPE with 154378. miles

Getting code P0191 and P0193 all refer to fuel rail pressure sensor, making the car cut on fuel and lose speed and make you stop no mater if you are running in the freeway or high way, it's creating a hazard to other drivers to crash on you when this happen. Replace the fuel rail pressure sensor twice this month and problem stop for a while and then is back again some refer a bad gas pump system but that is not problem also it happen when car accelerate gas cut off and stop. I ask other Ford Escape and f150 truck owners and they have the same sensor replace even mechanics and local car sale part, told me they been selling the same sensor pressure. I run a circuit test to my old sensor and my new one and i come up with bad results test with power across the sensors connectors. One of the thing i don't like about Ford repairs is ,they are trying to make you paid much money for code readings, parts and labor. This is a priority case that need to be addressee until some one get hurt on road for a simple defecting part.

2005 FORD ESCAPE with 139400. miles

I turned a corner and was only going 20 mph when the vehicle went dead. I had no control so luckily i wasn't going fast. I stopped the vehicle. I had to get it towed. One mechanic said my coils and spark plugs were bad because of the fuel rail pressure sensor malfunction. Second opinion - the pcm needed to be reprogrammed or replaced. Third opinion - all of the above. It costs $1900 and two tow bills ($275). The engine light had been on for several months. The only code was the fuel rail pressure sensor high input (P0193 generic).
